Chapter 3

"Activating sec-secondary objective," the man spoke as the two brunettes lifted their heads to scream in unison. They sat up, backing away as the man stalked closer toward them; only now were they able to get a good look of what the mysterious man's appearance was. Dark raven hair fell over one eye, blocked by a pair of glasses happened to be eyes that were the color of dark chocolate, and a simple blue t-shirt with the letter G continually glowing bright, illuminate colors. This man probably would've scared them further had his appearance not looked so identical to Fischbach's father known as Mark or Markiplier. But it wasn't him; in fact, he looked more likely to be considered one of his old personas that had been introduced in the past on his and Matthias' channel as-

"Googleplier?"

An Alter Ego, a character used to consider their idea of what a Google Android may appear to be like. But he was just that and that alone, a character on Mark's channel used to entertain his audience. He was far from real, yet here Google stood, towering before them as Hannah sat, confused and bewildered. He looked just like her father, the one she yearned to find, yet... it wasn't him. He didn't even recognize her as he approached the two that were sitting like ducks out of fear...

Learning from Mark's videos, the "secondary objective" designed for Google that he spoke of activating was: Destroying Mankind. He wanted to kill them, and they were cornered at the front door; if they ended up leaving, they would just be killed by the Mannequins outside instead.

So which was the better death to experience?

He was still the Android from the video... which meant she needed to recall how exactly Google worked if she wanted to survive, her sister included, and also get answers as to why this was happening to them. "O-Okay, Google, what is your primary objective?"

Googleplier seemed to freeze in place upon Hannah calling out to him, no longer moving toward the both of them. He began to glitch in place before beginning to speak to them yet again but this time, not sounding as threatening, "My p-primary objective is to answer q-questions as quick-ckly as p-possible." He smiled deviously at the two girls yet again, returning to his original state of creeping toward them, ready to kill. So he has to answer any questions she gives, which causes him to freeze or pause in place, keeping him from coming to where they sat? "Okay, Google- who is Mark Fischbach?" Google froze, tilting his head to the side and glitching out, processing an answer to give to her.

"Mark Edward Fischbach, known online as Markiplier, is an American YouTuber. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, he began his career in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was based in Los Angeles, California prior to his recent disappearance on September 3rd."

Ariel soon realized the tactic Hannah was using as they slowly stood and began walking along the wall of the hallway as Google had to stay put while he answered any random question they chose to ask him. It had appeared to be an idiotic, cliché plan to use, but just as Matthias used it to keep himself from getting killed, whether he was aware that he was going to be killed by the Android or not, it was also keeping them safe and very much alive. A cliché move indeed but one that was keeping them protected at this very moment, allowing them to make their leave, find a hiding spot within the mansion, and discuss a thorough plan on how to escape that won't get them killed by a robot nor a mannequin. But Ariel wasn't wanting to leave, not yet. This... thing was a killing machine set on making sure today would be her death date on her soon-to-be tombstone, but he also held answers to any question asked. They could receive answers. They could figure out what the heck was going on here, such as the existence of Raspy Hill, the existence of himself, why Mark... was summoned... here.

The Irish girl turned back to the robot as he made his way toward them, a good distance now separating them rather than their previous position of sitting like bait waiting to be taken by the predator. Hannah skidded to a stop, realizing her friend was no longer running beside her. "Ariel-"

"Google, on September 3rd of this year, did Mark Fischbach come here to Raspy Hill before he went missing?"

This time when he stopped, he didn't glitch or seem annoyed at the interruption, but this time, he froze in confusion, pity and sadness making its way onto his face. He went to answer yet closed his mouth, opening and closing his fists in irritation. He seemed to be looking for the answer, as though he knew it yet he himself couldn't reach it. He seemed... upset. He seemed confused, not sure why he couldn't reply. His eyes remained on the both of them as though searching them would give him the answer he was looking for... but nothing.

Google ended up taking a step back while lowering his head.

"I-Information of September 3rd has recently been deleted from my memory chip and can no longer be accessed, the events of that day being wiped and non-reachable for even I to retrieve..."

Hannah looked to Google as her eyes glossed over with salty tears. What could've possibly happened on that day? Why couldn't the Android be allowed to remember the events that took place on that day? She forgot she needed to run, that a hiding place was needed to be found, for her mind went blank and her determination for survival now fleeing. She didn't want to run anymore; she wanted to know why the day her father went missing was now more important than either of the girls could've possibly imagined. So important that the robot wasn't allowed to recall anything of that day. Hannah shakily took hesitant steps towards the robot only to stop when she felt her sister's hand grasp her own while she was in her daze.

"W-Where's my dad...?" the girl asked in a whisper. Google only looked at her in confusion. "I do n-not understand the question-"

"WHERE'S MY DAD?! WHERE IS MARK FISCHBACH?! WHO GAVE HIM THE COORDINATES TO COME HERE?!"

"Hannah-!" Ariel screamed as she wrapped her arms around her friend in a tight hug as the sobbing girl went limp in her arms, falling to her knees. The Irish female knelt down to the floor while rubbing her friend's back to try and create some sort of comfort for her to calm down to. "Hannah, he doesn't know. His database was erased like the laptop at home had been. Asking these questions will only overload him before he breaks down like he had for Matthias... I'm so sorry, Han, I thought... I thought we were close..." Ariel clung to her sister as though she would slip away as she began crying more, her sweatshirt becoming soaked with the tears she ended up spilling. She didn't want to hurt Hannah, not in this way nor any other way. All she wanted to do was help her find her dad; she didn't want her to end up having her father pronounced dead as well...

"I believe it's t-time the intrud-ders identify themselves and state their p-purpose of being here," Google spoke softly in a threatening tone as both girls looked up to see him standing right in front of them while they had been distracted. Ariel's grip tightened around Hannah, her goal being to protect her sister no matter what. He didn't seem to want to attack them now; maybe he had disabled his secondary objective for the time being to receive his own answers from them? The Irish child took in a sharp breath of fear as she looked between her sister and the robot. They were cornered, they were left at death's feet, the predator ready for the kill. It didn't matter what the answer was at this point if they were to die, so what's the point in hiding the truth from him? There was no point in lying; they were to end up in a coffin at the end of this anyway.

Besides... Ariel could never really lie to someone. She just wasn't good at it.

"Ariel. I'm... I-I'm Ariel McLoughlin and she's... this is H-Hannah Fischbach. We... W-We were just t-trying to look for h-her Dad... M-Mark... That's it. That's the only r... reason we came to this nightmare of a home. Why w-we came t-to- Heck, we don't even know WHERE we are! Raspy Hill shouldn't exist a-and neither should you! This... Th-This is insanity over the fact w-we're gonna die at the h-hands of her f-father's Alter Ego and never end up knowing what happened to Mark or Seán!"

The young girl just rambled on as Hannah sat and listened, attempting to calm down to the point of talking like an almost normal human being. Because let's face facts: both girls were far from the average teenage girl. "Can you at least kill us quickly? If we're gonna die by someone that looks like my own father, I would like it if I didn't watch nor experience it for long."

Google's eyes appeared to widen as he immediately cursed under his breath, very audible for both teens to hear. It brought confusion upon them quickly as they were curious to know why their information was a problem. "Something... wrong, Google?" Hannah whispered as his gaze fell upon her, showing an emotion that couldn't be easily read on his face. "My t-tertiary objective... is to protect and n-not harm the Fischbach family. O-Objective added into m-my data base on May 29th by Mar-rk Fischbach."

Hannah immediately covered her mouth as a loud gasp escaped her lips. Her father added this objective into Google on the day of her birth... so he could protect her if anything occurred, and if they were to ever meet... he could not harm her. Mark was looking out for her in every way possible, thinking of every type of situation that could end up occurring. She tried not to cry again, happiness just overflowing from thinking of how much her dad did for her and how she never knew, never having the chance to thank him.

"Uh... I was adopted into the family! Ariel McLoughlin-Fischbach. That's... That's me! Heh..." the friend quickly stated to make sure her life was safe as well. Google narrowed his eyes in disbelief, but Hannah had her step-sister's back, explaining her situation and what had occurred to Seán years ago when Ariel was younger and how both of them were now attempting to stop the same fate from happening to Mark.

Google added this newfound information into his database to consider Ariel a part of the family he was not allowed to harm but instead to protect before he bent down and gave both girls a hand to help the two stand and get back on their feet. "The t-two of you shouldn't b-be here, it's far from safe here at Raspy Hill."

"Yeah... we learned that the hard way..." Ariel grumbled as her eyes darted to the front door by instinct in fear that the creatures on the other side would burst through the door any second now. "Is it safe enough to at least... stay the night? I don't really want another encounter with the M... Ma-"

"The demonic Mannequins with blood lust on the brain is what Han's trying to say."

"Yeah..."

Google glanced towards the door then back at the two girls and sighed. "Everyone in the household is asleep as should I be- or at least 'I should be recharging my battery' is a more appropriate term to use as I do not sleep. If you stay in the guest room tonight, you should be fine; the Mannequins will be out until dawn, so our only complication will be getting you two out of the household before anyone awakens and notices you or your vehicle, but not early enough to where the Mannequins are still out and about."

"Oh- is that all? Well that's fine, everything's fine. We're all fine!" Hannah groaned as Ariel placed a hand on her shoulder, straining a smile. This was insane; they shouldn't have to be worrying about inanimate objects coming to life nor should they have to worry about the psychotic, murderous residents within the manor coming after them. Yet here they were, having to deal with just that.

After Google allowed the girls to use the home phone to contact Amy that they were staying the night at a friends house because their "car broke down," he led the two of them to the guest room at the end of the hall. It was pretty bland, the walls were an off-white, the carpeted floor matched the color of beige, a single queen-sized bed was placed in the center with the headboard resting up against the right wall, and a white nightstand sat beside it with a lamp on its surface. Besides the small empty closet, that was within the room as well, there was nothing else. "Rest up. I will find a way to get you girls safely out of the house without any threats being targeted on you," Googleplier informed. Before he could walk off, however, Hannah grabbed hold of his arm while his back was turned, causing him to face the teenager once again. "I... I just wanted to say... thanks... Thank you for looking after me." She wanted to engulf him in a hug, but not knowing what reaction he may give from that, she decided against it.

Google's face was expressionless until the ghost of a smile grew softly. "Of course. It's in my programming to protect you and your friend. Goodnight, Hannah Fischbach." And with that, he left.

Just as things seemed to be okay once again, this was not the end of the story; their story was only beginning as complications would soon begin to rise from the ashes and come after the two girls that never asked for this.
