Chapter 10

"I-It sure is taking Dark a long time to h-handle this problem," one of the younger Iplier brothers mumbled under his breath, his appearance much different from the others, as his hair was dyed a bright, bloody red and his outfit was a Japanese private school girl's uniform.

Wilford gave him a sympathetic smile; he and the young one were very close, both having their minds poisoned with insanity, being feared by the others. They rarely talked to one another, but communication wasn't what made the two close; it was instead how they were able to understand each other's condition when no one else could. "Don't fret, ol' chum. Darky is probably just... enjoying the torture session he is giving to the intruder. There's nothing to worry about, the intruder will be gone soon and we'll-"

"The Host interrupts Wilford's reassurance to Yandere to inform the Alter Egos in the room that the dark entity had returned inside the Manor. As they were all about to let go of their worries, believing the worst had finally passed and they were safe from being revealed, the Host begins to explain that Dark hadn't returned alone but was now accompanied by two female teens with luggages and bags in hand. The Egos stared in confusion at the narrator speaking as his words made little to no sense to them but not all for Google and Wilford had stolen a glance from one another that the Host was able to catch. It appears they were not confused at all by the two unexpected guests he had described but rather concerned for who they believed it to be-"

"That's enough, Host, you can shut your trap now, we get the picture," Google spat as he stood, his eyes remaining on the doorway as Wilford followed his actions.

It couldn't be them, could it? They warned them what might occur if they were to ever return to this place. So... why would they dare come back? It could be any two teenage girls with luggages, it didn't necessarily mean it HAD to be their two girls, their nieces... Though... even with the concern of harm coming their way if they were to ever step foot back here, Wilford couldn't lie that he prayed for the day that Hannah would return to his side to be engulfed in a hug and never to be released again in fear of losing her once more. He only met her once, barely knew anything about her... but he loved his niece as though she were his own child. He wanted her back since the day she drove off.

The first thing the Egos heard was barking, lots of it. Running through the open doorway, a golden retriever came darting into the room, gazing at the grown men who all appeared to have the same exact face. Out of curiosity, the dog began to circle and sniff each member, which none of the Egos minded at all. They were all personas that originated from the same man, the very man that would give up anything for his puppo. It was practically written into their DNA to care for any kind of canine that would cross their paths.

"Freddy!" a female voice echoed through the mansion, all eyes focused back on the doorway once more where a young girl came into view. Wilford Warfstache couldn't help but let out a gasp, recognizing the short wavy hair, Neptune blue eyes, and the Amy-like face almost instantly. His prayers had been answered; his niece had returned.

Hannah stood there, unable to move as her eyes scanned the room. Every single person in that room looked like her father... yet none of them were him. It was still hard for her to believe that this, ALL of this, was real. This was really happening before her eyes, her father's characters coming to life, standing before her just as curious about her as she was of them.

"Hannah..." the daughter of Mark heard the familiar voice whisper across the room. Turning her head, she locked eyes with the pink mustached man, a wide smile spreading across his face with tears glazing over his eyes. Her body began to run toward the man before her mind could even process the action she was taking. Arms open wide, Wilford tightened his grip around her frail body, burying his face in her hair with his salty tears causing the top of her head to become drenched. She didn't care much that her hair was getting ruined, she was soaking his pastel yellow button-up shirt anyway with her own tears, so at this point, it was safe to say they were even.

She was just overjoyed at the fact she was back with her uncle, not even noticing the worried glances the other Egos had been sharing.

Ariel entered the room to witness the scene taking place, watching as the grown man cried over the fact that he was holding the girl he barely knew yet loved. Looking over her shoulder, she watched the confusion settle in on Darkiplier's face once more. He just wasn't going to gain a wink of understanding about any of the situation today from what she could tell. Looking back, she saw Google gazing down at her with an irritated expression.

Yes, he warned them not to come back.

Yes, they disobeyed him and returned knowing the danger that could be ahead.

But all of it would be worth it at the end, once they got the answers they needed to figure out what happened to Mark, Amy... and Jack.

She walked forward, rubbing her arms as he crossed his, clearly angered with their sudden presence on Raspy Hill. "Ariel, care to explain why you disregarded my warnings when they had been for both of your safety? I wouldn't have told you to avoid this place if I didn't find it unsafe for you two-"

"A-Amy's gone!"

Her quiet, timid, and reserved voice that the Android had grown accustomed to from the last time he saw her was now masked over with this tone of urgency and fear. Two simple words put together in the same sentence caused the men in the room to grow tense, all eyes on her as they waited for her to speak once more and explain what she meant. Ariel didn't speak further, however, but instead kept her mouth closed as she looked to the floor.

She hadn't meant to interrupt Google when he was speaking to her about the warnings he gave her. The warnings that he claimed she had so carelessly pushed aside so she and her sister could return, but she didn't mean to purposely disobey him or make it appear as though she hadn't taken his warnings for their protection seriously. They returned for answers, to fix this mess and simply leave once their family members were returned to them and they could go back to the way things were. She never planned to stay, she planned to be a mole on the inside, looking for any clue or sign that would point to them being the ones behind their parents' kidnapping. She only wanted to do this to find the evidence and prove her theory correct that one of these alternate versions of Mark were behind this crime. She didn't want to be here any longer than they had to be; she didn't want to become close or attached to any of them, she wanted to get in and get out. Once their parents were found alive, safe, and free again, she planned to get her and her sister out of their hair and go back to the way things had been before.

With no words escaping Ariel's lips to explain further on what she had meant by Amy Fischbach, a.k.a. Planet Peebles, being considered gone, Hannah took this as her opportunity to speak up, "Google, Amy-... Mom's gone now t-too... We haven't seen her ever since we... we left. We don't have anyone left to take us in, th-this was our last option. We... We didn't know w-what else to do!"

Google's expression softened towards both of the girls as he processed their words carefully; he extended an arm out to welcome the McLoughlin into a hug meant to comfort the teen as she immediately accepted and buried her face into his blue t-shirt. She hadn't meant to freeze up, for her anxiety to take the wheel and cause her to freak out over discussing the situation once again, this time with more than one pair of eyes on her. She hated talking to crowds; too much social activity caused her to break down out of too much stress and fear. Her hands clutched the fabric of his shirt as she held onto him, listening to the gears and fans working inside of him behind his chest-plate reminding her that he was indeed only a machine, yet one that seemed to care for her. He began to stroke her hair in a sincere manner, calming her down before the panic were to consume her. "I... had not been updated on any news revolving around the disappearance of Amy Fischbach. I am usually the first to know about these things."

"The police didn't make it public right away. This time, they wanted to investigate further into the situation before declaring yet another YouTuber missing. They informed the teachers at our school so they could allow us to miss a few days while we... we recover from... this. They're going to make it public later this week which will hopefully give you guys the confirmation that we're telling you the truth... That A-Amy is in fact gone," Hannah whispered, burying her face in Wilford's shirt once again.

All the Android could do in response was nod to reassure her that he understood before turning his attention back on the girl that was in his hold.

Before anyone could dare to speak, whether it was to comfort or question the mysterious guests in the household, the dark leader of the Iplier Egos cleared his throat while making the temperature of the room drop immediately to where Ariel could've sworn she saw her breath escape her lips. Their attention was now directed toward Darkiplier, his shell beginning to crack, as irritation finally settled within his very being, frustrated at the fact he couldn't understand what was occurring or who these girls were in the first place, yet two of his brothers seemed to know exactly what was going on.

"Google, Wilford, you both seem very well... acquainted with two girls you've only just met. Why don't you both come with me to my office? It won't take long... so long as you both cooperate."

The girls felt the Egos' grips around them tighten in response to this. Slowly, they released their protective hold from them and followed Dark out of the living room. Before vanishing from the room completely, Wilford sent a glare toward each of his brothers, a threatening glare warning them that if anything were to happen to his nieces, they would find themselves experiencing a bad time.

And with that, Ariel and Hannah were now left alone with the Egos they had yet to meet. Some harmless... others dangerous.

"He called you Hannah," they heard one start, looking around the many similar faces only to stop on the Doctor once they noticed him approaching them, both girls taking a step back out of instinct. "Oh- sorry! Do you not like close encounters? Maybe not one from a stranger like myself... How about I introduce myself, help you to get familiarized with me so you don't have to see me as a stranger? My name is Dr. Iplier, Alter Ego of Mark Fischbach. One of the greatest Doctors you'll ever find!"

"But... aren't you the doctor who just informs all of his patients they're going to die rather than, I don't know, try to help cure them?" Ariel quickly asked, causing the entire room to erupt in laughter as Dr. Iplier's face immediately turned a bright shade of red. Hannah tried to hide her snicker by hitting her sister in the arm and giving the man a warm smile. "It's nice to meet you, Doctor! I'm Hannah Fischbach, your niece!" These words quickly silenced the room, all eyes staring down at her as if they were seeing a dead girl walking.

To say the least, it was highly uncomfortable.

"Wait- so who's the other one supposed to be?" one of the news broadcasters inquired, breaking the silence as he approached quickly, shoving a mic into the Irish girl's face, hitting her upper lip.

Wincing, she shoved the mic out of her face before rubbing her mouth to ease the pain. Once the pain subsided, she gave a nervous smile to the Egos before saying, "I'm her stepsister, Ariel McLoughlin-Fischbach; I was adopted into the family at age 12 after my father died when I was 6 and I was hopping from one foster home to the next."

"McLoughlin?" Dr. Iplier tilted his head to the side while cocking his eyebrows in confusion, "As in Seán McLoughlin? You're HIS kid?"

"Well, yeah-"

"No, not possible. That's... That's not right," the doctor mumbled to himself as he began to pace in thought, now passing the confusion onto the girls, who were unsure of what he meant. Ariel took a cautious step forward, her hands back in her sweatshirt pockets for comfort while she blocked the Ego's path from further pacing the room. "And why isn't that right, exactly...? Care to elaborate on that?"

The doctor took in a few deep breaths, running a hand through his hair while he tried to figure out how to explain the information he knew to the girl. Instead of easing the information onto her gently as a doctor like himself should, he decided to instead throw all he knew at her at once giving her no time to process it. "Ariel McLoughlin is dead, she never... lived, actually. When her mother went into labor... it was a stillbirth. Neither the child nor mother made it that day."

Her gaze fell to the floor, her arms tightly pressed up against her sides while her fists continued the motion of clenching and unclenching. The motion was an attempt to try and keep her mind occupied on moving her hands rather than the fear and panic creeping towards her mind.

"I'm sorry, Dr. Iplier... but whoever told you that gave you false information."

"I'll have you know that the one who told me is very much certified and is 100% a real doctor and he-"

"And he gave you the wrong information! My name is Ariel Sky McLoughlin, my mother died giving birth to me, and it had just been me and my dad up until I was 6 when he disappeared on Halloween night. Ariel never died, it was her mother that died that day- my mother! The mom I never got the chance to meet!"

Hannah watched as the two argued, starting to become fed up with her sister being questioned by the Egos over whether or not she was in fact Seán's daughter, just as she told them she was. She stepped forward and moved in between the two, keeping Ariel behind her. She glared up at the alternate version of her father, pointing an accusing finger at his chest.

"Hey! Back off, would you?! Whether you believe she's a McLoughlin or not, I can assure you that she is, in fact, a Fischbach. I have the adoption papers on me with my parents' signatures on it as proof that Ariel was adopted into the family when she was 12. That means that no matter whose blood you believe or don't believe is coursing through her veins doesn't change the fact that she's your niece now just as much as I am. She's apart of this family and I will not tolerate anyone harassing her- am I clear?!"

The doctor went silent, sticking his hands in his pockets while looking off to the side. He stepped back, a few of the others watching and seeming to be impressed by the brunette's words. The reporter Jim had held his microphone close to her the entire time, looking up at cameraman Jim with wide eyes.

"Tell me you got all that?!"

With a thumbs up from Jim, Jim took a step back from the girls, running over to see the footage they got from that argument.

After the doctor and the two teens had nothing more to say to one another, the room fell into an awkward silence that no one knew how to break. They stood uncomfortably like that for what felt like the longest time before the two girls were led to the couch in the middle of the room and were seated so they could give their legs a break and relax. Giving them a moment to calm down, the Egos started once again with questioning their mysterious guests, this time being cautious with what they chose to say so they could avoid angering them anymore than the doctor already had. The questions were more directed towards Hannah rather than Ariel, which she didn't mind. Ariel preferred not to talk and would rather listen in on the conversations happening around her. Besides, she couldn't recall the last time she saw Hannah smile and laugh so much since Mark had gone missing. At first, the Fischbach had remained skeptical, answering their questions with only a few words to keep it short and simple. About fifteen minutes later, her sister was excitedly answering their questions with full details, telling them stories, and in return, they'd start telling her about themselves with their own stories to share. She couldn't help but note how... weirdly casual this appeared. Two girls, popping out of absolutely nowhere knowing who they were and where they lived when no one else on the planet should know this knowledge- and now being told all the most embarrassing and secretive stories the Egos had to offer immediately after knowing them for less than half an hour.

That seemed logical.

An hour passed before the temperature in the living room dropped all of a sudden, causing all mouths to close and all eyes to look up and direct their attention towards the doorway. There stood the dark Ego, his hands behind his back and his chest puffed out a bit. He stood out from all the others; while the others stood before the two with welcoming and kind personalities, he overpowered their warmth with the cold, bringing a negative aura to surround and engulf them. This made the girls uneasy and fearful; neither of the two were able to read his expression to give themselves an idea or clue on what he had finally decided to do with them. Wilford and Google had entered behind him, the mustache man standing on his right while Android remained on his left. The girls stood upon their entry into the room, Dark grimacing at them with a sour look, tilting his head to the side while his neck let out a sickening crack. Hannah winced at the sound, feeling her muscles tighten up as she watched him repeat this process by tilting his head to the other side, his eyes closed and a relieved sigh escaped his lips. He straightened out his posture once more, signaling he was ready to speak.

"According to Google, with the help of him being allowed access to the files on our niece and the entirety of the Fischbach family, the girl who claims to be Hannah is, in fact, Mark's daughter. There is proof on Mark's channel, on the videos that have been blocked from us due to his concerns that if we were to know who Hannah was, she would be harmed. As for the other one, we have no files or proof that she is who she claims to be, but I can only assume the two of you might've been smart enough to bring the documentation that states Ariel has been adopted into the family with Mark or Amy's signature?"

After he paused, Hannah threw her backpack off her shoulders, digging around until she found the papers needed, handing them over to him so he could look over it. His eyes scanned the papers, looking for any errors or mistakes that could indicate these papers to be fake, but as far as he could tell, it all checked out. Ariel was a Fischbach, one that his creator had carelessly and selfishly forgot to mention to the Egos.

"Very well... Then it is settled, Hannah and Ariel may stay for as long as they please; we will provide for you food and shelter until you are able to fend for yourself or when you wish to move out. Until then, this will be your new home; you will have to follow the rules that everyone here must follow, and in doing so, you will find your stay here a pleasant one. If you choose to rebel against me and my orders, I cannot promise that there won't be any punishments that will mentally and physically scar you. There is, however, an exception... While you live under my roof, Googleplier and Wilford Warfstache will be forbidden to speak to or come near either of you unless I say otherwise."

"What?! Dark, you can't-"

"It is already done, Wilford. I advise you not to test me anymore than you already have today," Darkiplier growled, turning to look at Warfstache who took a step back instantly.

Ariel and Hannah stood in shock as the Alter Ego spoke these words. He couldn't be serious- Why would he make such a rule? Why keep the Egos they trusted the most to keep their distance from them? Was this a punishment towards the girls, the price they had to pay for coming and asking such a big favor from them to raise two girls they barely knew?

"But WHY?! Why keep us away- we haven't done anything to harm them-"

"But you risked harming the remainder of your family!" Dark growled, his voice deepening as the red glow around his body began to over power the blue. "You expect there not to be any consequences for that? You allowed two humans from the outside world into our home, our safe place! You had no idea who they were, you let them go with the knowledge that we existed and where we lived, and you had avoided passing this information onto me! You allowed intruders into MY home, under MY roof, and doing so while I slept- while we were all asleep, trusting each other that nothing were to happen! You expect me to just let that go?! All I ask from all of you is to keep me informed and come to me if anything were to happen. Now I can't even trust you doing such a simple task; you were lucky they happened to be our nieces this time- but what about next time?!"

Google's expression twisted into one of displeasure, taking a step forward which caused Dark to turn his attention from Wilford onto him. "If there is a problem, I advice you speak up now, Google. I don't see why you'd wish to dare argue with me on this matter, but please, explain your disapproval on my decision."

Google straightened his posture, trying to match Dark's height as a way to prove that they were equals in this room, that no one was more dominant than the next nor did one have power over the rest. "I was just going to simply inform you that I am unable to listen to these orders you have so 'kindly' bestowed upon me. My tertiary objective is to protect and not harm the Fischbach family. It is in my programming to tend to their needs when it is asked for or needed. I must be near them in order to protect them."

Dark growled at this; why they were disobeying him and not simply listening to his orders was beyond him. It wouldn't be a problem for long, however, as he knew exactly how to shut them up for good if these were the cards they wish to play.

"Is that so? ...Okay, Google. What is your primary objective?"

Those sinister trigger words that made him follow any command or answer any questions asked; oh, how the droid had grown to despise those two simple words entirely. "P-Primary objective is to answer questions as q-quickly as possible. I don't see why that q-question was necessary-"

"Google, which objective is your first priority? Your primary or your tertiary objective?"

"My... Primary objective..." Now Google was ticked off entirely, his knuckles turned white as a scowl grew on his face. He took a step forward, only an inch away from their noses touching as he spat his next words at him out of pure rage. "B-But my tert-tiary objective is just as important to m-me! I cannot simply ignore it, my orders are to l-look after them, protec-ct them, and not let any harm come their wa-ay! I will not allow you or anyone to-to stand in my-"

"Okay, Google, power down. You are no longer of any use to me for the time being."

Googleplier gasped but couldn't utter a word after the order had been given. His lively, warm, chocolate eyes turned to be dull and glass-like, their color fading and almost resembling the eyes of a dead man. His posture slouched, his head falling forward and eyes closing permanently shut for the time being. The fans in his chest powered off, his entire body became still. He just stood there, causing Ariel and Hannah to look upon his body in terror and panic. The Android they trusted, the uncle and friend they loved dearly, was silenced by merely a few words given to him by Darkiplier himself. Instinctively, Ariel grabbed her sister's hand and clutched onto it, unable to tear her eyes away from the scene before her.

"Any more objections?" Darkiplier asked with a turn of his head to look directly at the girls. He straightened out his suit and exhaled a sigh of content, not phased at all by what he had just done to an Ego that he should've considered as his own brother.

The Fischbach child wanted to scream, wanted to object, wanted to strip Dark's pride and power away from him for what he had done to Google- but she couldn't. Her eyes locked onto Wilford's, watching as he shook his head, a way to tell her it wasn't worth it and she needed to stay on his good side.

With a sigh of defeat and withstanding the urge to attack the darker version of her father, she responded with a simple, "No, sir... We have nothing to add."

"Excellent. You both know where the guest room is, head upstairs and start unpacking. I hope you'll feel... right at home here at Raspy Hill."

Hannah tightened her grip on her sister's hand, quickly pulling her and herself towards the staircase. Ariel caught one last glance of the motionless Google IRL before forcing herself to look away, keeping the tears at bay while slowly making her way towards her new room.
