Finding differences

Kevin and Felix follow their biggest fan for a bit before they hear a collective grumbling from them.

"Excuse us sirs, we'll be right back." N said as they all flew off.

"He seems nice. Almost pushoverish" Felix said standing beside his friend.

"That's because at the point of programming he was at when we left he would be. And don't get me started on the possible half century of murder these three have been doing for a "bloodlust" like a fucking vampire!" Kevin said his wings and tail out and visibly unhappy. "But I thankfully thought of that as I began his programming." Kevin said after taking a breath.

"What do you mean?" Felix asked not used to seeing Kevin this emotional before.

"I mean there's a chance N can rebel. But I forgot exactly how to do it. But if I forgot how to it means it was super simple to do." Kevin says muttering to himself before hearing a gasp. The two of them turned to see a group of worker drones afraid for their lives.

"We're not like them, go on and hide before they DO show up." Felix said motioning them to scurry off. They do tipping their hands in thanks. "So until then, now what? Should we try to check in on the head of the worker drones?"

"Nah, let's check any place that seems to be in working order to find clues on how long ago this happened. Though I have an idea of when." Kevin said sighing.

"Really?" Felix said surprised.

"Well the reports said that this region of space has not had a reported meteor shower in several millennia. So why would there be one on the day we're in range of this system?" Kevin asked locating a school and picking the lock. Felix thought it over before his friends logic clicked in his mind.

"The planet had just exploded!" He said shocked. "Geez I've been right about this whole thing since you bugged me about it on the ship." He muttered following his cohort in and locking the door back startling a few locals.

After letting them know they aren't the same ones out on the prowl and we're just here collecting info about what happened just before and after the explosion. They seemed wary to do so but after multiple mini tests they were told that Kevin had been right in his estimate and it had been about 5 decades in a few weeks.

"So question did word go out about inspectors coming out?" Kevin asked.

"Well, no not really. I mean not officially, rumors spread that there were two new people coming InTo give us help to reduce some of our more dangerous tasks with even more dangerous machines. But I don't think they ever came unless..." the teacher said looking them over making them feel uncomfortable . "You killed them."

"It's more complex than that but dumbed down it was my fault, I short circuited the controls." Felix said. "First time activated and I pushed the shiny button harder than I was supposed to." He lied. Felix was about to correct him till he noticed the negative stigma around humans these workers had and kept his mouth shut.

After getting the correct information they needed they checked where their vampire counterparts were and saw them chasing a worker drone to their hideout.

"Oh boy F, there's going to be a battle in there." Kevin said as they headed out into the frozen night following the bloodthirsty counterparts. They found a open vent and crawled through just as N was getting up with a purple eyed worker drone.

"Good to see you still in one peice N." Kevin said scaring the worker drone to point the rail gun at them.

"I'M NOT AFRAID TO USE THIS!" She yelled on edge at the two new deconstruction drones. Before N stepped between them.

"They're the prototype versions of us. Less violent." N said making the girl lower her gun. "Plus I think they're more than they let on but nows not the time for exposition." Making the worker drones eyes widen in horror.

"DAD!" She screamed as she turned to head back to the back room. The rest of them followed and came across only one major injury but they stopped the girls.
