Why reject the suffering, when you can embrace what the suffering gives you, so you can give it back to the person that wronged you?- Tartarus

Tartarus is the result of Merus when he saw the death of his friend, Reia, with Merus' pain and trauma of losing his friend so great that the pain ends up leading to the creation of Tartarus, who is the split-personality of Merus.

Backstory:

Merus hadn't been the same ever since the death of Reia, a new close friend of his. Throughout the days, Merus had nightmares of what had happened for her, due to the Forbidden Conduit of Corruption having killed him before her eyes. He would often hear her sounds of struggle when she was in Corruption's grip, and the sounds of her death, which made Merus stressed and being unable to sleep, with Edra having do whatever she can in order to ease the trauma of the pain he had to go through, even to the point of trying to push the memories of what happened back into his mind, the feelings of the pain and suffering that Merus had felt so it won't be felt by him. However, Edra's attempt to do that had an undesirable and unexpected affect. As the bad memories and terrible feelings continued to move to a singular point, it began to...make something. At first, it was formless, and could not make out as anything, being only a shake of a black foggy mist inside of his mind. But as time went on, and Merus' continued growth, the most began to change shape, it began to think, it began to speak inside of his mind, the traumatic thoughts and memories began to form a sentient personality of his own, to the point that it began to take on an identity of his own, called Tartarus.

Tartarus, inside the mind of Merus, acts as sort of an imaginary friend to Merus in a way, being polite and friendly to him and his allies and mother, but in the presence of those that are his enemies...that behavior become different, as he becomes similar to Corruption to an extent, becoming malevolent and vile, wanting to cause as much suffering to them, which Merus would normally be against and would be a little scared of Tartarus for what he is. But in spite of this, Tartarus cares for Merus to an extent, even if it is in his own twisted way, as he does all that he can to make sure that Merus is safe and sound, even being with him whenever he grows up, and whenever he is in trouble, he will be there to help and aid him from anything, even if he has to do the same thing as what Merus' most hated enemy had done in order to make sure that Merus does not suffer anymore.

Appearance:

Tartarus takes on the shape of Merus, although he has an extremely different appearance compared to Merus. Merus' resembles a shadow of him to an extent, with black clothes, with the scorpion of the hair which is glowing white hair, only being identifiable by the white outlines on them. Tartarus' face is shown to be a bit scary, because instead of Merus' usual face, instead is a pair of white irises and sharp white glowing teeth, with claws in his hands and an imp tail coming out from behind him. He is shown to be floating in the air constantly. When manifesting through Merus' physical body, Tartarus takes on the same appearance as his mental self, but the tail is not present.

Personality:

Tartarus is the embodiment of Merus' pain, trauma, and hatred molded into him. To those that Merus hates or rather just wants to kill Merus, Tartarus despises them and would do whatever it takes to make sure they pay for what they've done to him in the past. He is cold, sadistic, and cruel, as well as being similar to Corruption, malevolent and vile, as he wants nothing more then to make those that hurt him suffer for the terrible acts of hatred and cruelty that they have done to him. He is cold and uncaring to them, as well as being even more unforgiving than Merus, wanting to make them feel Merus' pain so that they can suffer for eternity, with Tartarus even taking some sort of sick twisted pleasure in causing them to suffer, even make sure their suffering continues before their very last life ends with no inch of remorse from him at all.

However, in spite of this, Tartarus is not a terrible person all the time. In fact, to Merus and those that he cares about, Tartarus is very friendly and kind, although he does maintain the creepy and twisted attitude, and would be honest with them. Although he is not above annoying then whenever he controls Merus, even doing stuff that can kind of get on their nervous, for he can be a bit mischievous. But in spite of this, he is good to them through and through, and would consider them the exceptions to the hatred and rage that he has.

Powers and Abilities:

Cosmic Possession: Tartarus can posses and control Merus whenever he feels like Merus needs help. When this happens, Merus will take on a shadowy black color similar to HellSeeker and Osiris, with white teeth and glowing irises present, with the hair even taking on a bit of a fiery appearance then before. Whenever this happens, Tartarus alters Merus' powers, making them much more deadlier then ever, being very dangerous for a kid.

Black Hole Blast: Tartarus can fire a Black Hole projectile of sort from his fingers, with the Black Hole strong enough to suck in anyone that dares get to close, even a Conduit.

Black Hole Shield: Tartarus can summon a black hole from his hands to suck in attacks. If enough attacks go into it, Tartarus can summon a Gamma Ray Burst from the black home that is strong enough to hurt even the Forbidden Conduit of Corruption.

Cosmic Tear: Tartatus is capable of moving and manipulating the cosmos around him as a form of telekinesis, but unlike Merus, he can use it to rio apart, tear, and destroy any celestial object in existence.

Mental Communication: Tartarus can speak to Merus inside of the mind of when he is beside him.

Cosmic Eyes: Tartarus can use deadlier versions of the Cosmic Blast, being able to fire stars from his eyes, which lock on to an opponent and destroys them.

Merus' Mental Palace:

Merus, due to the trauma he had gained from Corruption's killing of Reia, accidentally created a mental world for Tartarus to exist in. It takes on the form of a black void with star-like trails for him to go on. The trails act as the good memories, while the black void areas forces Merus to remember his darkest and most terrible memories. Tartarus has direct control over the Mental Palace.

Relationships:

Merus: Born from the negative thoughts and memories of Merus, Tartarus was a rather scary existence to Merus at first, being creeped out by his appearance. However, Merus would soon realize that Tartarus does not mean any harm and is very friendly to him. Because of this, Merus somewhat sends him as an imaginary friend of sorts, when he is really more of a split personality.

Edra: The mother of Merus does not like Tartarus at all, but does began to care for him in a way, due to Tartarus keeping Merus company whenever Himmsworth and Prism aren't around. Despite this, she does keep a close eye on Tartarus in case he tries to do something insane with her son.

Himmsworth: Due to his Omniscience, Himmsworth can see and communicate with Tartarus, even being able to talk inside of the Mental Palace. Tartarus does seem to take a liking for Himmsworth, but can annoy him at times, or at least tries to, which isn't successful, since Himmsworth knows what he's planning.

Yesmerian: Being an Omnipresent entity that is everywhere at once, even inside the Mental Palace, and having been introduced to Merus through Righteous!Error, Yesmerian does keep an eye in Tartatus in case he does go out of line, but otherwise does see him as a creepy, but good person.

Prism: The Forbidden Conduit of Disorder is a little bit unsure about Tartarus, but is a little bit interested in him due to being the split personality of a Bio-Conduit, although he is a bit unsure about him at the same time, due to how similar he can be to Corruption.

Forbidden Conduit of Corruption: Indirectly responsible for Tartarus' creation, Tartarus was an absolute hatred to him, even more so than Merus himself. He wants nothing more than to make him suffer so much, he would beg for a mercy that would never come to him.

Conduits: Tartarus hates the Conduits like Merus, but thinks very little of them, thinking of them as pathetic childish fools that don't know to use their powers or responsibilities properly.

Righteous!Error (Forced God of Destruction): Error sees him as similar to Osiris, being an alternate personality born from trauma and fright. Because of this, Righteous!Error does get along with him to an extent.

Osiris: The MainFrame Demon and the alternate personality of Error404, born from his pain and suffering, Tartarus and Osiris get along rather well, as they are born from the bad memories of their hosts, and due to possessing similar personalities to those that are sinful, and in Tartatus' case, to those that they hate, they get along to the point that Osiris even considers him his boy.

Notes:

Tartarus is considered to be a dark personality inside of Merus, but is ultimately on Merus' side.

Tartatus does not really care that much about the Alphatale brothers, although he does get along with Alpha!Sans.

Tartarus is only noticeable when he takes over Merus. Otherwise, only Merus is able to see him whenever they interact.

Whenever Tartarus takes over, his attacks are similar to Black Holes, which are dead stars. This, in a way, presents Merus having to witness the death of someone he cares about, which is Reia in this case.

Merus usually enters the Mental Palace whenever he sleeps. He rarely enters it while awake. However, he's began to go inside the Mental Palace more often when awake, due to Prism now deciding to teach him the Method of Loci, a mental technique used to help recall information, which consists of imagining a place and linking different rooms with ideas, text or objects to help remember them.
