Nolan, the Conduit of Ambition, is the child of the Conduit of Knowledge and a monster from Reality 7, therefore making him the half brother of the Forbidden Conduit of the Cosmos, who is also the step-sister of the Conduit of Passion, O'Brien, who would betray the Conduits.

Backstory:

The Conduit of Ambition is born from the Conduit of Knowledge and the womb of a monster from Reality 7. Knowing that Death and the others will find out about him soon, Knowledge decides to leave his child in the hands of his lover, so that he can be safe from the Conduits for as long as he can, as well as so he can live to have a good life.

Nolan, while living with his parent, did in fact have a very good life with his parent, and although he did have some problems, he made it his ambition to make his mother proud, which made him be able to become successful at being able to get a job after he went to high school. However, after years of peace for Nolan, the Conduit of Power, Bastian, appeared and tried to destroy the home that Nolan lives in. Nolan, seeing this, tried to get Bastian to leave peacefully, but Bastian refuses, as he tries to destroy everything. His mother tried to step in, but Bastian attacked her and almost killed her. When this happened, Nolan felt enraged and decided to attack Bastian to protect his mother. And when this happened, Nolan used the full might of his power as the Conduit of Ambition, and fought against Bastian in order to protect his mother. Power tried to fight against Ambition, but Nolan was able to get the other hand somehow, and almost tries to beat him to death, but Walter, the Conduit of Destruction, was able to intervene, and reigned on Bastian, before apologizing to Nolan and the mother, before walking away.

As Nolan looked at the sight of what he had seen, unsure of what to think, the mother spoke to Ambition and decided to go home with him, because she wanted to talk to him about his mother and his past. This made Ambition confused, but he decided to listen when he and his mother returned home, and when the mother returned home, she explained everything to him, about his father, the Conduit of Knowledge, the Conduits themselves, and the reason as to why he had to leave him behind.

Nolan, upon knowing this, became distressed and sad at what happened, but the mother assures to him that Knowledge did it to protect him from the life of Conduits, for it is unforgivable and horrible in ways, and what he did, he did it because he loves Nolan and wants to give him a good life that could last for long time, even if it was not going to be forever. Nolan looked at his mother, and could tell that he is being truthful here.

However, as that happened, the door knocked, and the mother can tell what this meant. She realized that the Conduit of Death is at the door. She sighed and spoke out to Ambition that the Conduits are going to take him, and he should be ready for the cruel, unforgiving life that will be ahead of him. Nolan was scared, but for his mother's sake, he'll be brave. The mother and Nolan went to the door and opened it, to see the Conduit of Death present, with Knowledge also present as well, ready to take Ambition in. Nolan was not happy, but he decides to go, but not before his mother gave Nolan a locket to remember her by, which he tearfully accepted. After that, Nolan finally left with the Conduits, and his time as a Conduit began.

Nolan was a bit nervous, since he is not sure if he'll survive being inside of this new life or not. But as he went around, he did meet other Conduits that he was able to get along with. He met the Conduit of Life, who was kind to him, same with the Conduit of Purification and Conduit of Liminality, he met the Conduits of War, Conquest, and Famine, he met the Conduit of Truth, who is his stepmother in a way, due to the birth of the Forbidden Conduit of the Cosmos through Knowledge and Truth. But his closest relationship that he had was with Truth's son, O'Brien, the Conduit of Passion. And at the time, O'Brien and Bastian got along, due to them both being bookworms, and the fact that they crave to gained knowledge of everything and beyond that. Because of this, they would often study together and have a close relationship, similar to brothers.

Unfortunately, the brotherhood would come to an end, when O'Brien betrayed the Conduits. Heartbroken and enraged, Nolan fights against O'Brien, and almost killed him due to what he was doing, using his powers as the Conduit of Ambition to overpower O'Brien. But O'Brien, with the Conduit of Power, Bastian having sided with him, knocked Nolan off of him and escaped, feeling sheer rage and distress at what O'Brien had done. Knowledge, knowing he needs time to process this betrayal, took him aside and allows him to grieve for Life and take time to process the information of this heartbreaking betrayal, allows him to relive his rage and betrayed emotions onto Knowledge.

After a bit, he came to terms with this betrayal, but is still unhappy. And after what O'Brien had done, having the Passion to kill the Conduits, Nolan will make it his Ambition to kill O'Brien for what he had done, and for betraying them the way he did.

Appearance:

Nolan is a very tall Conduit resembling a human with grey hair that reaches down to his shoulders and white eyes, having a face that is firm, yet regal, as well as handsome. He has a black woolen trench coat with a buttoned up shirt and a bow tie, with brown leather pants and black leather boots.

Personality:

Nolan, similar to O'Brien, is often seen as a loner and a bookworm, for he keeps to himself most of the time, either distancing himself from his fellow Conduits, as he writes in his journal, along with O'Brien. However, unlike O'Brien, he is more intrigued with the cycle and wants to know how it works, as well as how far it goes, although he does not express this to O'Brien until his betrayal. And unlike O'Brien, he is loyal to the Conduits and refuses to go against them, especially since that would mean betraying his parent, the Conduit of Knowledge. And also unlike O'Brien, he has no trouble conversing with people socially and is able to befriend some of the Conduits.

Powers and Abilities:

Conduit of Ambition: Nolan possesses the Conduit of Ambition, which allows him, whenever he is ambitious about something, he can have or do said thing. It also allows him to gain the strength he wants to have if he is ambitious about said things.

Ambition Nuke: Nolan can create an explosion of pure power from his ambition of a fight, the explosion so powerful it can kill anyone that is weaker than him, with it being powerful enough to shake the Eden Tree itself, possibly even severely damage it.

Relationship:

Rebecca: A sort of rabbit monster of some sort, she is the mother of Ambition, who raised him the best she could and did all that she can to give him a good life. Ambition loves his mother and misses her dearly, hoping to make time to see her again someday.

Conduit of Knowledge: The father of Ambition, Nolan and Knowledge when he was an adult and when he was sent to be with the Conduits. Nolan and Knowledge were on neutral terms at first, due to their relationship being professional. But after Life's betrayal and Knowledge helping him, Nolan truly began to see him as a father and follows his teachings.

Conduit of Life: Nolan and Life were able to get along very well, as she was able to help him with his uneasiness of his new life and is able to help him adjust to it, which Ambition is in her debt for. He grieved for Life when his former best friend, O'Brien, killed her.

4 Conduit Horseman: The Conduits of Death, War, Conquest, and Famine, Ambition was on professional terms with them, due to them not being the friendliest bunch. The only time that they ever agree on something together and unite, is whenever O'Brien is involved, for they all desire to kill him.

Conduit of Liminality: The child of Life and Death, Liminality is the closest relationship he has made, with O'Brien being a former exception. Although both are loners, Liminality and Ambition are able to get along very well and help each other. Their bond became greater when O'Brien killed Life, which made them loyal to one another in bringing down O'Brien.

Conduit of Purification: The child of Life and Death, the relationship that he has with Purification is similar to his relationship with Life, but in a more sister-like bond, with Purification even helping Ambition whenever he is stressed. Although Ambition declines her help formally, since he thinks his problem should be his, Purification insists on helping him, which he allows if Purification means it enough.

Conduit of Truth: the stepmother of Ambition through the Forbidden Conduit of the Cosmos, Truth and Ambition get along, due to Knowledge and Truth's bond. The both of them get along well.

Conduit of Passion, O'Brien: The single most important relationship Nolan has, both Passion and Ambition are bookworms that desire knowledge and are loners in a way. And at first, they both were able to get along, due to both their Conduit parents being close, and their similar personalities. Although he is a bit uneasy with O'Brien sometimes whenever he talks about the cycle and how much he wishes to be above it, Ambition never says anything bad and tries to change the subject to a more pleasant one. In a way, they are almost like brothers. But that bond came to a bitter end when O'Brien betrayed the Conduits and killed Life. This shocked, distressed, and enraged Ambition so badly, he attacked O'Brien and fought against him. Although O'Brien held his ground, Ambition's relentless assault and rage put O'Brien on the ropes, and would have killed him had the Conduit of Power, Bastian, not saved him. Since then, Ambition has made it his personal goal to find O'Brien and kill him for his betrayal and his Murder of Life.

Forbidden Conduit of the Cosmos: The half-sister of both Passion and Ambition, Nolan has never met her before, but he does know her existence through Knowledge. In a way, Ambition fears the Conduit of the Cosmos and vows to never meet her under any circumstance.

Notes:

Nolan, who once saw O'Brien as a brother he never had, now wants to kill him in anyway that he can.

Nolan, due to the incident involving Passion, decided to be part time involving the Conduits, but will still come to their aid whenever they need him.

Nolan's Conduit is slightly stronger then that of O'Brien's Conduit of Passion.

If the Forbidden Conduit of the Cosmos were to meet both the Conduit of Ambition and the Conduit of Passion, it would not go so well in how all of them would interact.
