I: Interlocking Rubaiyat

Beautiful Illusions

Her eyes land on her reflection,
As they beautify her to perfection,
They eye her as a piece of art,
Will her true self ever receive admiration?

She shouldn't have to change a part,
The world can go change it's heart,
But their insults keep her reined,
Before she can even try to depart.

Even a small load and her arms are strained,
'Beauty is pain' is what they explained,
After all, what's a little bit of hunger?
Her gorgeous eyes- now bloodstained.

She tries to retain her anger,
But she just can't bear any longer,
Society must understand this time,
Beauty isn't pain, it's danger!

Her rich personality is prime,
Perfection is as bitter as lime,
She must learn her worth before
Her life ends up becoming a rhyme!

WHAT IS AN INTERLOCKING RUBAIYAT?

It is a 12th century Persian form of poetry. Here are the rules of the interlocking rubaiyat:
➖The poem is comprised of quatrains following an aaba rhyme pattern.
➖Each successive quatrain picks up the unrhymed line as the rhyme for that stanza. So a three-stanza rubaiyat might rhyme so: aaba/bbcb/ccdc.
➖Sometimes the final stanza, as in Frost's poem, rhymes all four lines.

Here's poem no.9!

Let me know what you think and how I should improve.😊

Also, it doesn't cost anything to click on the '☆' so please do it if you think my work deserves it!

That's all for now;
Next update: Even I have no idea!🙃

Adios amigos!❤❤
