H: Haibun

He

He stands slumped against the bulky police officer, his body painted with bruises. With swollen eyes and lips, a broken arm and a numb heart, he dares to look up to his family talking to the supposed victim. They look at him, eyes filled with disgust and shame, as they think what went wrong in their nurturing. Diagonally behind them stands a fragile looking girl. Tear drops decorate her cheeks and her expression looks so broken that even blind would sympathise with her. Little do they know about the evil that lurks in heart, the deceit that adorns her mind and the malice that governs her being. The real victim is awaiting a hearing in court while the true criminal stands free, receiving endless attention, all because she is a girl. After all, why would any girl randomly accuse a guy for raping her, right?

The world accuses him,
Without confirming his crime,
He deserves his right!

Just something I'd like to say:

In my opinion, while promoting womanhood is extremely important we sometimes deviate too much from the actual meaning of 'equality'! Equality means equal rights for all genders, not just for woman!

There have been so many instances when woman violate their right and accuse innocent men of crimes they wouldn't even think of committing. And several times people directly punish the man without confirming whether he was truly guilty or not! This isn't equality!

We need to save the girl child and bring equality for woman but that doesn't mean we woman can do anything we like, and these wrong accusations are nothing but pure evil!

WHAT IS A HAIBUN?

The haibun is the combination of two poems: a prose poem and haiku. The form was popularized by the 17th century Japanese poet Matsuo Basho. Both the prose poem and haiku typically communicate with each other, though poets employ different strategies for this communication—some doing so subtly, while others are more direct.

The prose poem usually describes a scene or moment in an objective manner. In other words, the pronoun "I" isn't often used—if at all. Meanwhile, the haiku follows the typical rules for haiku.
