Chapter 21

"Which is why I bring some friends." Rusdi said, and smirked upon seeing the horror in her eyes.

She scrambled up and ran to his direction, but he brought his hand up and slapped her harshly across the face, making her fall back to where she was.

"Don't be scared." He cooed. "They shared the same DNA as you, so you're practically siblings. But of course they're much more stronger than you." He sneered and snapped his fingers.

The hooded creatures circled her and one of them grabbed her hand. She struggled under its deathly grip.

"Stop, please." She sobbed.

"Oh, but sweetie, I'm having fun. Don't want to be a party pooper, are we?" He mocked as the creature forced her to stand up.

"This will be fun." He said darkly, rubbing his hands together.

"You're sick... ah!" She screamed as she felt something stabbed into her stomach. She looked down and noticed that the creature that was holding her had its talons planted inside her stomach. Her blood quickly seeped out, trickling to her feet, staining the grass with crimson red.

"For my love." He shouted and another creature stabbed her from her back.

Her head fell back as her mouth opened in a silent scream. The creature twisted its talons and thrusted it deeper to her back until she heard a crack. Her skin broke and the tips of sharp talons penetrated through her chest, blood pouring on both sides of her body, drenching her T-shirt.

Then a lightning arrow fly out of nowhere and stricken the hooded creature who was holding Sheronica on the head. It crumbled into dust and she fell down.

Rusdi's eyes were wide as saucers when he recognised the golden arrow. He ran off.
The other two creatures were killed by Miezza's wind. Farra jumped to the clearing and was surprised by the sight of her friend on the forest floor. She gritted her teeth, blinked away the fresh tears and ran after the culprit who did it. Izzudin came next. But before, he shot a look to Zul.

"Take care of her." He said and sprinted after Farra. The new members who wasn't hurt so much followed the leaders.

Zul dropped next to Sheronica who was now breathing erratically. He helped her to sit with her back on a tree nearby. She bit her bottom lip to keep the gasp from leaving her mouth. She brought a trembling hand to the deep puncture wound in her stomach to stop the bleeding, but it kept pouring out. She knew her body was trying to heal herself since it was her speciality, but the wounds were too deep, and she was losing too much blood.

Her glassy eyes caught the sight of Lily. Lily was staggering toward her and even on her death bed she noticed that the short haired girl was covered in bruises. She quickly searched through the dirt and bruises and found the worst wound.

When Lily arrived to her other side, Sheronica placed her free hand on Lily's right leg, starting to do her job but Zul quickly stopped her.

"You're gonna need your strength."

"He's right, Sher, I'll be fine." Lily said, hiccuping a little as she quietly cry.

Sheronica didn't answer. She tugged her hand back from Zul's gentle grasp and placed it back to Lily's leg. This time they didn't object. They knew she's going to do it anyway.

A weak light shone under her shaking hands. It took more time for her to heal than usual because she could feel herself fading away. A person would understand her body better than other people do, and she knew they were right, she needed the strength to stay awake because falling out of consciousness will only mean death, but she couldn't sent her friends to battle wounded. Like Farra, she also took her responsibility seriously, and her responsibility included the well-being of her members. A while later, Lily's wound was healed leaving only a mark on it.

Sheronica heaved a shaky breath and her head was starting to feel extremely dizzy. Her sight was going in and out of focus. She found herself swaying in her seat and she fell toward Zul.

"Stay awake." Zul said, wrapping a hand around her shoulder. "You hear me? Don't you dare closing your eyes. Don't even think about blinking." He said dryly. He attempted to joke it away as he pushed his other hand to his back.

He was trying to hide it from her but she saw it. She'd seen it the moment he came to her side and helped her to sat up. He was only using a hand and even then he was wincing at every move.

She placed her free hand on his shoulder as she stared up into his eyes. He didn't have a beautiful eyes as Izzudin did, but he bore specks of golden in his and she found it mesmerising.

"No Sher, I won't let you." Zul said as he felt her hand glided down from his shoulder to his broken arm.

She gave him her famous 'do my face look like I care' look and started to concentrate the last of her energy on him. She felt her body protested on the amount of strength she had left as it was still trying to heal itself. She ignored it.

Her eyes darted away from his eyes, and down to his hand that was placed on her lap, her own smaller hand was on top of his arm. With her blurry sight, she saw that it was fully healed and she smiled in content. She gazed up.

"Live." She whispered, before her eyes fluttered close and she fell into oblivion.

Rusdi was running away from his catcher. He planned to escape from the Alphabet fortress and came back with more army, before his leg was caught up in something.

The next thing he knew, he was dangling upside down, a root had his leg secured.

A group of people emerged from behind the bushes, all of them stopped at a few steps away, but one particular person kept walking forward and planted a fist on his face. Shock was clear on his face as he grasped his throbbing jaw, no doubt a nasty bruise will form on it soon enough.

What a shame, he thought, I won't get the chance to see how bad the bruise is.

The guy swung another fist to him and it collided with his eye, another one and it broke his nose.

"Noorizan, stop." The Leader calm voice said and the buffy guy held himself from giving Rusdi another black eye.

He clenched his jaw. "You are going to perish from this world, and I will hunt you again so that I could kill you with my own two hands when you are born again." Noorizan said, stepping away.

He joined his group of entourage. The guy that Rusdi knew as the owner of the golden arrow patted Noorizan at the back.

"Six on one huh? Can you be more cheap?" He said, spitting the blood that pooled inside his mouth from a busted lip.

Izzudin were about to step up, but Farra stopped him.

"I don't need anyone to assist me in killing you." She said. Her calm demeanour were gut wrenching, but he refused to be intimidated. She flicked her hand and the roots that captured Rusdi's leg disappeared. Rusdi fell down.

He stood up and cracked his neck. He wiped his bloody nose with his sleeve. For a while, Farra thought he was going to attack, but then his eyes softened and she saw unshed tears in them. He looked at her sorrowfully, and she knew how much he regretted taking his love's life. She knew he was silently begging her to end him.

"I didn't mean to." He whispered. "She was downright challenging me."

"So you killed her." His eyes snapped up to her cold ones. They had a stare down briefly. His shoulder fell as he nodded.

"I'll accept whatever you're going to do with me."

Without replying, Farra raised her hands up and fire emitted from her palms. Aieyn's power. He didn't stop her. He knew he deserved it. He rather die than living in a world without Aieyn.

The fire surrounded Rusdi's body, slowly consuming his skin, and then it exploded.

I actually had fun writing this. I didn't know I have a bit of sadistic side in me lmao. No I'm not a creep, not in a bad way anyway.

Sorry if I kill too many people, but that's how it goes in the real book. This is just a fanfic of that book so I wish to keep the main plot on the line.

Only a few chapters to go and then we're finished!
