Eva's POV

I looked around the room one last time. This has been my room for the last two years. I had to leave today. Xavier will be here soon.

Mum and dad reacted surprisingly good. Dad knew because Xavier told him before I could. Dad was happy. But, mum was ecstatic.

When I told her that Xavier is my mate, she was shocked. Then, she started crying with happiness. She was extremely happy. She kept telling me that she was so happy and couldn't express it.

"Oh, I am so happy for you, Eva. I have to say this, he is really handsome," she said as she winked at me.

My cheeks heated up at that. she laughed and hugged me.

Dad came and gave me our special father-daughter hug.

"He is good man, Eva, he said as he kissed my forehead.

Mum wiped her tears and joined in for a group hug.

I smiled at the memory. I got up from my bed checked my suitcases to see if I've put everything important in it. I had packed them when I came back from school.

When I told Anna that I found my mate and he Xavier Storm, she kept screaming with excitement. Everyone in the hallway gave us weird glances. She is crazy but that's why we are besties. I laughed at the thought.

"Eva! Alpha is here," I heard mum's voice from downstairs.

My palms felt sweaty. I, suddenly, started to feel nervous.

I got up and looked out of window and saw dad and Xavier talking, next to his car. He was wearing dark washed jeans and a black button. He looked handsome in the ruthless kind of way. I bit my lip at the thought. Suddenly, his head snapped up and his gaze fell on me. A smirk formed on his lips and rushed away from the window.

I dragged my suitcases downstairs. Dad came in with Xavier following behind him.

Dad came towards me and pulled me in his arms.

"Take care, munchkin."

"You too, dad," I said as I hugged him back.

Mum came and held my hands. I could see tears forming in her eyes. I gave her a tight hug.

"We're going to miss you so much," she whispered in my ear.

"I'll call everyday," I said as we parted.

Xavier came and grabbed my suitcases. He intertwined our hands.

"Let's go," he said as he started walking towards the front door with me.

Once we reached the car, he put my suitcases in the boot of his car. I turned around and waved at my parents. Xavier started the car and we drove away.

We reached the pack house and I followed Xavier to his room. He placed my suitcases next to the bed.

"I cleared half of the closet for you so you can put your clothes.

I'll leave you to it. If you need anything, I'll be in my office. It's the last room on your right," he said as he turned around and left. I sighed and turned towards the closed. I walked towards the closet, dragging my suitcases behind me.

I opened the closet doors and a gasp escaped my lips. It was a walk-in closet. The mere size of this room was the same as my bedroom back in home. There were racks and racks of clothing. A striped carpet on the white tiled floor and a mirror on my right, covering the whole wall.

I walked in with my suitcases, eyes wide open in awe. I seem to love everything about Xavier. Whether it is him, his room, his bathroom and heck, now his closet.

I walked towards the empty racks and started putting my clothes in them.

An hour later, I was done unpacking. I placed my hands on my waist and admired my work.

Everything looked organized. I turned around and went out of the closet, closing the doors behind me.

What should I do now? I feel bored. After the hard work of one hour, I am really hungry. I think I should eat something first. My stomach growled in agreement.

Xavier was still not back. Hmmm. He looked quite tense in the car ride. He wasn't talking at all. Something was surely on his mind.

Deciding on not disturbing Xavier, I walked out of the room and went to the kitchen.

I entered the kitchen and looked around for something to eat. Opening the cupboard, I saw pancake mixture and cornflakes. Huh! There's nothing to eat. I sighed. I turned around and looked at the refrigerator. Hmm. I might find something to eat in there. Walking towards the refrigerator, I opened it.

Peanut butter? Nah. Cake? Nope. Pickles? Not a chance. Left over Pizza? Bingo! I got the pizza slices out and placed them into the microwave. Setting the timer for 2 minutes, I walked towards the refrigerator with a spring in my step.

Getting a can of chilled coke out of the refrigerator, I poured it into a glass and threw the can in the bin. The microwave dinged and I rushed to get the pizza out of it. Placing the plate with the two slices on the counter, I sat on the stool with the glass of coke.

I took hold of one slice and took a big bite. Hot! Hot! Hot! I fanned my tongue and took a gulp of my coke.

I was almost done with the pizza when I heard a voice behind me.

"Who the hell are you?"

I know that voice. My eyes widened as I turned around.

"Zander," I whispered looking at him.

"Red face? What are you doing here?" He looked shocked.

He looked past me at my almost finished pizza. I turned around and ate the last bit of my pizza.

"Oh no you didn't! How could you come into my home and eat my pizza," he asked angrily pointing a finger towards me.

I looked like a deer caught in the head light. Honestly, I wasn't least bit ashamed. What? I was hungry.

"I-, Xavier-," before I could complete my sentence, he cut me off.

"Oh, so Xavier invited you. Let's see what does he say about you coming on the Alpha's floor," he said as he came closer.

Before I could reply him, he gripped my wrist and pulled me off the stool. He dragged me through the hall towards Xavier's office.

"Release me," I said gritting my teeth.

"Shut up," he snapped rudely and tightened his hold.

A whimper escaped my lips. My wrist was hurting. Why is he acting so rudely? I just ate a leftover pizza. Reaching Xavier's office, he burst open the door without knocking.

Two guys were sitting in front of Xavier's desk. The three of them stood up. One was them was Mr. Andrews' son, Theodore, our new beta and the other one was Asher, Anna's brother and our new third in command. All of three of them looked in shock.

"What the hell is she doing here, Xavier? She came into our home and ate my pizza. She isn't even a least bit sorry" He said as he jerked me harshly towards the desk.

My body slammed into Theodore's. He gripped my forearm and helped me stand straight. I felt tears forming in my eyes because of his harsh behavior.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I said glaring at him.

I looked towards Xavier and he was shaking with anger. His eyes shifted between his normal light blue eyes and his wolf's dark blue eyes. Oh oh! This is not good. Before I could say something to stop him, he took long strides towards Zander. His fist collided with Zander's cheek and he fell to the ground with a loud thud.

I decided to stop Xavier but Theodore stopped me shaking his head towards me. I just stood there and looked at the scene. Xavier gripped his collar and pulled him to his feet.

"She is my mate and your Luna," he gave out a feral growl.

Zander's eyes widened and he looked at me, his cheek already looking swollen.

"R-Red face is your m-mate?" he asked, not believing it.

"Her name is Evangeline and you will respect her," Xavier growled warningly.

He released Zander and straightened.

"Honestly, these are your manners? If someone unknowingly ate something you kept just because they were hungry, you'd act like a rabid dog? " Xavier asked.

Zander looked down, ashamed as Xavier stepped back.

"Get out of my office. And don't show me your face until you've learnt to respect others," he said as he turned around, his stance looking calmer than before.

Zander almost ran out of the office. Asher looked in shock whereas, Theodore was smiling.

"You two can leave," Xavier said, his eyes fixed on me.

They left closing the door behind them. Xavier came towards me and picked me up. He walked around his desk and sat on his seat with me in his lap. I turned to face him and he hugged me tightly.

I placed my head on his shoulder and that's when the dam broke. I started sobbing, pressing my face into his shoulder. Honestly, I wasn't only crying because of Zander's behavior. I was crying because Xavier defended me in front his own brother. He was the best mate ever. I couldn't stop the tears.

Xavier kept saying sweet things into my ear. He kept running his fingers through my hair. It was very soothing and I started to feel sleepy. My sobs subsided and Xavier pulled my head up from his shoulder.

"Little girl, why are you crying?" He asked softly, looking into my eyes with his captivating ones.

"I am just happy because you defended me in front of Zander," I said sniffling and looking down.

He gripped my chin and softly pulled my head up.

"It's not just Zander. What he did was wrong though. I will defend you forever. You are my mate. My other half. I will cherish you forever," he said and a fresh set of tears formed in my eyes.

"Thank you," I whispered sniffling.

He wiped my tears and I closed my eyes, sighing in content. He kissed my eyelids softly. He was so caring. Honestly, who could have thought the big bad alpha would be this loving and caring. My eyes fluttered open and I bit my lip, looking at his face.

"Ughh! I told you not to do that," he groaned huskily.

I, immediately released my lip. He buried his head in the crook of my neck and kissed my collar bone. I ran my hands through his soft hair.

"Mine," he growled near my throat then kissed my throat. I felt sparks engulfing my body. I bit my lip to stop the moan from escaping my lips.

For a while, we just sat there, breathing softly and enjoying each other's company. I felt my eyes droop while Xavier kept rubbing my back softly.

"You feel sleepy?" Xavier asked softly.

"Hmm," I hummed sleepily, keeping my head on his shoulder.

"Then, let's get you into the bed," he whispered.

I just hummed back. He stood up with me in his arms. Closing his office door, he walked towards our room.

My back hit the soft bed. Xavier covered me with the sheets and turned around.

"Don't leave," I mumbled sleepily.

"I am just closing the door," he said softly.

He laid down next to me and pulled me into his arms. I tangled my legs with his and placed my head on his chest. I heard his soft chuckle before he kissed my head.

"Goodnight, my little angel," he said as I heard a clap.

"Hmm," I just hummed back and fell asleep.
