I wasn't sure what had happened.  My side ached painfully and I was surrounded by darkness.  I could hear the dull dripping sound of an I.V.  and the soft snores of someone across the room.  Alcohol burned my nose most likely they had cleaned up something in the room.  My eyes fluttered open adjusting to soft darkness around me,  Moonlight filtered through the blinds from the window to my left.  His body stretched out across two chairs stripes of moonlight covering his body.  Kicking the sheet off I pushed my self up and threw my legs over the side of the bed.  Rolling my neck I prepared for my legs to fail as I stood slowly and wobbly. Pulling the I.V.  from my arm I walked toward the bathroom. Slowly slipping inside I turned the light on.  It burned my eyes but I had to look into the mirror see what a mess I was and sure enough,  my hair was a tangled mess and my eyes were dark like I hadn't slept in weeks.  My eyes slowly dragged down to my torso blood stained my shirt and had dripped down my pants.  With a shake of my head I pulled the stained shirt off only to find an even darker band wrapped around my stomach.  I feared what I was going to see,  but this was it I couldn't hide from the damage that was done to my body.  Slowly unwrapping the bandage I was shocked to see a slight scar and nothing more.  The slight outline of a wolfs jaw was etched into my side, Blood stained my body. Reaching in I turned the hot water on, nothing a shower wouldn't fix.

Ren's P.O.V
"What the hell?  Where is she?" I could hear voices around me barely whispers.  "Wake the hell up" and suddenly I was wide awake a foot kicked the chair I was sleeping in.  "Where is she wolf? " the Alpha growled angrily.  "What do you mean? " I questioned looking around him to find the bed empty.  "What?  Where'd she go? " I yelled jumping up.  "She couldn't have gone far with a wound like that" the alphas mate responded.  "He better hope so I'll kill you where you stand boy" and suddenly the bathroom door flew open and there she stood.  A beautiful picture with low cut jeans and a sports bra on.  Her red curls where wet as she slightly dried them with the towel in her hand.  She looked up at all us slightly startled.  "Thank god Clara" her mother stated reaching out to hug her daughter.  "I'm fine mom" she muttered walking toward the bed. "What do you think your doing out of bed!" The alpha snapped "after what you've been through" he trailed off as her torso was healed nothing but a scar remaining.  "As I said father I'm fine" she replied a Stern look on her face.  He looked at her relief washing over his features.  Taking a step toward her he reached for a hug but she was faster and took a step back.  "Don't" her voice trembled.  "Clara" he looked at her hurt and took another step.  "No" she said with a little more power in her words.  Reaching out the alphas mate placed her hand on his shoulder "come give her some time" he looked utterly defeated as he made his way out of the room with him mate.  The door clicked quietly behind them and her eyes found mine.  Before I could control my actions I had her in my arms as she rested her face against my shoulder tears pouring down her cheeks.  "Shhh" I soothed my hand moving up and down her back slowly.  "It's OK your OK" I whispered.  "It's not OK!  My father tried to kill you and nearly killed me in the process" she sniffles wiping at her eyes.  "Now now I accepted the challenge when I didn't have to,  and you were the one that choose to run out in front of him so he's not entirely to blame" I replied leaning against the bed.  "Are you sticking up for him? " she questioned furrowing her eyebrows.  "No, I'm just stating the facts,  one of which I could handle myself I'm Alpha born to you know?" She shakes her head "doesn't matter he's more ecxpiernced then you" she replies with slight sass.  "And one day your going to learn that I can take care of myself and you my love" I say a smile on my face.  "And me?" She questions.  "Yes you why else would I be waiting to see if your OK, your my mate can't you tell?." And suddenly as if a switch goes of in her brain a smile fills her face.  Suddenly everything made sense or at least almost everything.

Clara's P.O.V

Interlocking our fingers I smiled as we walked through the house toward my room.  Rolling my neck I sighed as a headache formed in the middle of my skull.  "You OK beautiful? " Ren questioned tightening his grip on my hand.  "Yeah just a headache" I replied biting my lower lip.  "That boy is leaving tommorow and she's staying here I don't care if their mates I'm aloha what I say goes" I could hear the voices in my fathers study as if I was standing there myself.  "Sensory overload" Ren says as I stop in my tracks.  "Clara? " he questions slightly confused.  Striding over to the door of my dads study I pushed the door open once again the door biting into my brothers back.  "Clara?" My dad questions her eyes flicking to ren who stands behind me.  "No" I say getting bewildered looks from mg family.  "No what dear? " my mother asks taking a step toward me.  "No I will not stay here no you will not keep us apart the answer is NO!" My voice comes out strong and commanding.  My fathers eyes buldge "I'm am the Alpha you will do what I wish you disrespectful little bitch!" The words escape his lips before he can register him.  "No" I reply simply looking toward Ren.  "I will leave with him.  I am Alpha by birth seeing as I was born first however Jaxon if my brother and I love him more then anything so I will not take this from him.  I will gladly leave and be with my mate.  So no I will not stay and No you will not keep my here" looking at Ren I smile.  "We leave tommorow" Turning on my heels I leave the room before anyone can say anything else.  I hear my mom leave shortly behind following after me.  "Clara can we talk about this please?" "No Momma" pushing my bedroom door open I walked over to my closet,  pulling out a backpack I walked over to my dresser forcing clothes into the bag.  "Clara we need to talk about this,  you've shifted if that secret gets out people will come for you,  they'll make you a science project! Do you really want that to happen?!" She screams loudly losing her composure.  "It's better then being trapped in this house!" I yell back tears streaming down my cheeks.  "I'm tired of this house and I'm tired of this patriarch that we live in! I'm not going to stay trapped here in this life just like you were and god I hope my sisters find mates who take them away from all this mess!" She stares at me in shock tears dripping down her cheeks.  "Clara you don't mean that were your family we raised you" Turning toward her a sad smile graces my lips "The fact that you raised me and not I love you comes to mind shows that leaving this family behind is the best thing that I can do for myself and the future." Suddenly my father burst in behind my mother Ren and Jaxon following closely behind.  "You are not going anywhere!  Even if I have to lock you in this room you are staying here do you understand me Clara god help me I'm your father and you will listen to me!!" His face was red with anger. "Then I guess it's a good thing your not really my father then" and with that I pushed through my family Ren following closely behind me.  I quickly took the stairs two at a time "were leaving" I say calmly.  I feel his boys flank on either side of us as we Cross the clearing toward the woods.
As we Cross the boundary Ren sticks his hand on my shoulder breaking his silence "Are you sure you want to leave it like that Clara?" I pull my shoulder loose, "I'm 100% sure that I don't want to be apart of that family anymore" the words leave my mouth harsh and cold.  "Your were I want to be" I say simply following Ren's boys deeper into the woods "You can protect me right? " I say taking a slight dig at what he had said earlier.  "Of course Mi Amor" he says his handing finding mine as we wander deeper into the woods closer to a new home and a new family.
