"I'm fine Athena."

"I rented a small apartment in alpha Josiah's empire in the meantime," I say as patient as I can in order for Athena to stop freaking out. The last thing, I want is to be the cause of her going into labor early.

"Call me if anything alright Aly," Athena says before hanging up. I decided to not tell her about what happened between Luka and I not wanting for her to legit make her way to his mansion and burn everything down. I feel horrible for lying to my sister, but it's for the best. After all, it's not like I want anything happening to my mate.

I seriously need to stop saying that word if I want to truly move on.

It didn't take me long to settle in placing the dragon eggs down in the chimney surrounding the wooden box with thick candles to keep them warm at all times. At least here, I have my own privacy not stressing myself much about someone spotting them. I decide to call Lodis to let her know about my whereabouts. After all it's not her fault that her son, her alpha is such an asshole.

As soon as two rings go through, the call is immediately answered. A heavily breathing Lodis is on the either end hastily saying, "Goddess Alyja is that you?!"

"Good afternoon Lodis, yes it is. I'm fine don't worry," I softly respond.

"Where are you? Give me your address, so I can go find you!," she says sounding almost in a panic. I crease my brows together not at all understanding why she's such in a rush for my location. After all I did leave her a note letting her know that I was moving out.

"There's no need for you to go out of-"

"I need to know where you are," she rudely cuts me off. "I-I'm sorry for that horrible behavior on my part dear. I'm just worried for my goddess," Lodis adds after apologizing for her rude action. I have no idea how I should take this. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to know my mother due to the deceased alpha Odysseus. Maybe that's how mothers are. I mean every time Athena would leave without notifying Adamaris whom is the closest to a mother figure for us, she would always worry for my sister.

"It's okay, I understand. Don't worry about me Lodis, I'm fine. I will be working on a cure for you, so don't stress," I reassure.

"Alright hun, please feel free to call me at anytime if you need something."

"Will do thank you."

The both of us say our goodbyes and I decide to step out for some food. I haven't had the chance to grocery shop due to setting up my little apartment.

Alpha Josiah's empire is so astonishing and very navy blue. The grass is such a bright green as trees show off their spectacular breathtaking navy blue color resembling their alpha's eye color. This entire empire is filled with navy blue flowers mostly in every home. Alpha Josiah is very respected and known for his jurisdiction leadership all across empires.

Rumors are he might not be into she-wolves.

However, that's none of my business. After awhile of walking down the grey sidewalk feeling the breeze hit my flesh. I spot a cafe sending a delicious odor of freshly baked bread and warm sweet coffee. Deciding to enter this place, I burst inside the glass doors sniffing the aroma that smells even more delicious. Closing my eyes, I get lost within the moment feeling a sudden bump from behind me causes me to flutter my eyes open.

Turning around, I lock eyes with grayish-baby blue eyes that are staring straight at me. This brunette she-wolf looks like a model, absolutely gorgeous. "I'm so sorry. I wasn't even paying attention. Such a bad habit," she says shaking her head. Her cheeks turn a pinkish color indicating she's completely embarrassed.

"It's okay. It's my fault for even standing in the main entrance for so long," I giggle hoping I can help ease her embarrassment. "As a form of an apology, let me pay for your meal," she smiles warmly. "No it's okay," I shyly respond walking towards the barista.

"Please, it'll make me feel better," she insists following behind me.

I take a moment of hesitation not feeling at all right to let someone else pay for me. However, if this is what'll make her feel better about herself then I don't simply see why not. "Alright," I murmur. This beautiful and generous she-wolf orders for the both of us which I'm glad she took control due to the fact that I had no idea on what to order being so new to the outdoors.

"Thank you so much. You're so nice," I genuinely say as her and I wait for our order to be ready. As I wait for her to respond, I notice how elegant she dresses. A beautiful navy blue dress hugs tightly around her curves followed by black navy blue bottoms. Her outfit must cost a fortune from how it looks. However, it compliments her beauty very well.

This she-wolf must be a billionaire.

Perhaps even might be a CEO of some sort of maybe a modeling agency or something. Definitely can see her doing something of that sort.

"I love your dress. The color is just like Alpha Josiah's eyes," I say admiring the color I've seen everywhere.

Immediately, I watch as her smile turns into a annoyed frown. Her entire posture changes by the mention of Josiah. "If it wasn't for my runway shoot today, I wouldn't dare wear this ugly color let alone represent this so called alpha," she grumbles crossing her arms across her chest.

"I'm sorry I-"

"It's okay. I just really dislike Mr. Jurisdiction. Horrible alpha if you ask me," she adds cutting me off. This she-wolf really dislikes her own alpha. I have no idea why she has so much disgust and dislike for her alpha, but it's definitely readable within seconds.

"Jissyn," the barista calls out sliding our order down the counter.

I watch as the she-wolf next to me goes ahead and grabs her order turning around to face me. "Grab yours. Nice to meet you-"

"Alyja," I briefly say doing what she exactly told me to do.

"Nice to meet you Alyja. My name is Jissyn," she smiles warmly and just like that she was out of the cafe going about her day.

Luka's pov

"I'm surprised you showed up considering last time," Alpha Yresis rolls his hideous orange eyes in annoyance.

"Don't tempt me," I warn turning my chair away from his direction. I already don't want to be here, so the last thing I want to do is deal with any other alpha especially one I don't like. I definitely don't have the energy for it.

"Silence!," alpha Lysias mutters.

"Is the meeting done yet?," I yawn ready to go back to my room to catch up on sleep. Since last night, I couldn't sleep thinking about the goddess of ice. I haven't seen her since I had to leave so abruptly due to the monster's threats.

Anything to keep harm away from her.

I've been thinking of ways to remove Alyja far away from my empire. She has no idea the danger she's in simply by being my mate especially now that the monster discovered my secret and will full fledge use her against me. Not just that how dangerous I am to her.

A sudden shake of the glittery round table disrupts my thoughts. Well everyone's thoughts as we all glance up towards alpha Cubris who's eyes are completely pure white. His original color of light-grey with swirls of yellow no longer being visible.

Suddenly, he snaps his focus on me his irises going back to his original color. "We need to talk now!," he abruptly says standing up from his chair and heading towards the exit. I raise a brow confused on what he possibly has to say to me. The others just stare also confused by it all. However, I decide to follow Cubris outside of the office where the meeting was taking place not knowing what he possibly has to say to me.

"What?," I huff crossing my arms across my chest noticing the time on the ticking clock right above our heads in the hallway. I only have three hours to get far away from the premises before dark falls upon us all.

Cubris runs his fingers through his hair frustratingly. "What's going on?," I crease my brows suspiciously not liking his behavior one bit.

"G-G," he breathes pacing back and forth.

"Just lay it on me! What?!," I grumble impatiently.

"Where is your mate right now?," he asks worriedly.

My heart immediately starts to beat irregularly by the mention of her. This instantly catches my attention. Why would he be asking about her?

"At my empire... why?," I respond.

"She's in deep danger."
