Chapter 10

The sparks erupted like fireworks between Luka and I's kiss. His hand cupped my cheek as our lips moved against each other. The cold breeze flowed through us. However, nothing else mattered in this exact moment. It was all about Luka and I everything else living being irrelevant to us both. I always knew my first kiss would be with my mate, but after practically being rejected I lost that belief. However, by miracle or the moon and fate working together, I got what I've always believed in.

My first kiss being with my mate.

After what seemed like forever. Luka suddenly detached himself from my lips pulling away abruptly leaving me craving more of his soft plump lips. "This was a mistake," he mutters turning his heel power walking out of my focus. Not saying a word, I stood there like an idiot who practically felt dumped even though no relationship exists. I can hear my wolf whimper by his actions. Everything I always dreamed of is such the opposite in reality.

Fluttering my eyes open seeing myself on the mirror of the restroom. I huff annoyedly, remembering the events from a few days ago. Since our kiss Luka hasn't been around at all. It's almost as if he's ran away from his own home to probably be far away from me. Which I'm deeply grateful for to be honest. After our kiss, I really have no clue how to act around him.

I make my way towards the kitchen to fix myself something to eat. As I step downstairs, I hear moaning echoing from afar. I crease my brows confused of what I am currently hearing. Lodis is upstairs asleep and Azure is out, so I have no idea of who it could be. "Maybe it's one of the maids?," I murmur to myself finding it quite funny.

However, what I see next breaks my heart into a million pieces. As soon as I step inside the kitchen, my eyes lock with Luka's crystal blue ones. I gasp, shocked of what I'm currently witnessing. There he is naked having intercourse with a she-wolf I've never seen before. Averting my eyes away from him. I now focus on her jet black eyes whom are staring straight back at me. As much as I hate to admit it, this she-wolf is beautiful.

Her toxic features are what makes her stand out more. Her long obsidian hair flows messily on the dining table as she lays flat on her back with her long legs wrapped around alpha Luka's waist. Her skin is a nice tan color, freckles on her nose and a few on her cheeks. Her dark thick brows creasing confusedly as she glances between Luka and I. My brimming eyes avert back to Luka. A mischievous smirk forms on his lips.

Feeling my knees threateningly weaken wanting to collapse. I place my hand on the glass wall of the kitchen supporting the weight of my body that is too much to bare with right now. Anger and betrayal is all I feel consuming my entire being. My heart beat echoes in my ears feeling my blood literally boil. Suddenly, I press pressure against the glass and the glass begins to crack magnificently under my hand. I gasp, stunned by what just occurred. Luka and this stranger she-wolf are both as stunned as myself glancing at the cracked glass and I.

Immediately, I turn my heel around running out of the house like my life depended on it.

As I burst through the doors running straight into the forest not caring how snowy it is. I feel the snow flakes hit my skin instantly melting along with the tears that are slipping out of my eyeballs. I start to shift into my wolf running far away from alpha Luka. How could he kiss me and make me feel all those beautiful things a few days ago and now sleep with someone else who isn't his mate?

After a good while of running, I hit a dead end of a cliff. I glance down seeing a river surprised to see it unfrozen. There's so much I don't know about this empire. I let out a howl remembering the horrific scene at the mansion wanting to rip Luka's head off right now, but I know I'll never hurt him. I just can't. Suddenly, the sound of a twig snapping is heard from behind me. I turn around seeing a elderly woman staring directly at me. She's dressed oddly almost as if she isn't from this decade. Her long white hair lays flat beside both of her dark cheeks.

"I'm so sorry goddess," she painfully says as she points her wooden wand directly towards my direction zapping me with a unknown white force that instantly strikes me like a shock sending me over the cliff. I shift back into my human form screaming from the unexpected fall.

A sensation of thousand knives strikes my body as I hit the freezing water. Swirling within the water I try to swim up, but the current of the water keeps pushing me forward harshly. I cringe at the fact that I might just die being drowned any second now. However, I will not die this way. I refuse to die this way.

As soon as I start to fight against the current of the water swimming up feeling myself begin to feel dizzy. Something indescribable happens, my body begins to become insanely warm then within seconds shifts into cold extremely cold. Blue electricity starts to rise from my body circling me creating some kind of force, a shield of pure energy.

The strength of the water no longer strikes me instead it just passes around me. I remain floating steadily as I see the water pass me by as if I'm not even there. Averting my focus away, I look down my arms and legs seeing nothing at all. It's as if I don't exist anymore. I gasp, bubbles escaping from my mouth feeling confusion and fear of what's going on with my body.

I start swimming up wanting nothing more, but to get out of this water and onto dry land.
"Please don't let me be dead moon!," I pray inside my head fearing for the worst.

Why can't I see my arms, legs, and body? I feel my body, yet can't see it. What kind of crazy psychological shit is this? Maybe too much water entered me that I'm starting to hallucinate?

Seeing the surface of the river a few inches away above me. I desperately swim faster needing to see the lands again to feel alive and properly breathe oxygen, so that my brain can stop hallucinating. I need proof that I'm still alive and didn't die drowned.

Reaching the surface, I stick my hand out of the water feeling the cold breeze hit my skin. Confirming that I am in fact still alive. That I survived from being almost drowned in the harsh current of the river that was threatening to end my life.

However, what I see next is something that no words can't describe. Even being the goddess of ice, I'm completely left speechless.
