3.

As the cheers of my engagement grew louder, I felt as if I was a time bomb.

"They will make wonderful pups." One of the ministers commented.

"Haha, if she lives that long. He might kill their pups too." A lady said, snickering coldly.

"Hey, she'll hear us. We'll get in trouble." Another said.

Too late.

Growing angrier by the second, I try to take some deep breaths to keep my emotions down.

This was crazy!

I cannot believe I'm marrying a complete psychopath!

Fay, who was clenching my gown tightly, gave my hand a squeeze. This brought me back to reality, my anger dissipated.

"I know you're mad... please don't be mad. I'm here!" She reassured me, her cheeks puffing out as she blushed.

How can I be mad after seeing something like that?

Smiling, I softly caressed my little sisters head. "I'm fine. Thank you, Fay. Can you stay with father for a bit? I'm going to grab some drinks and cool off."

She tilted her head, nodding at me. Her hand soon released my gown and hand before she held my father's hand.

My dad looked at me in questioning, but I only rolled my eyes at him.

'I'm going to calm down. I'll be back in a bit. That's the least you could do for me right now.' I mind linked him.

And he stayed silent.

But honestly, I had preferred it that way. I wasn't sure if I could handle if he said no.

Seating by the bar, I was drinking water and some shots of vodka and rum.

Adding some lemonade as I tried to brainstorm.

No one even knows what King Oberon looks like. As far as I know, he was forced to wear a mask at a very young age. As soon as he was older, he was forced to wear a helmet. Everyone who was alive back then was killed when he rose to the throne, so no one knows what he looked like.

Many people say that his face was scarred or that he was so hideous looking, others would die from staring. Apparently, his face was one where no mother could ever love.

King Oberon was the child of a prostitute. The king had ordered Oberon, who was a child at the time, to come to the palace. From what I know, his mother disappeared.

No one knows where she is.

I heard rumors that she's dead or that she abandoned her child because of how hideous he was.

When news came out, Queen Reyes was outraged. That being said, he was still of royal blood but was considered a outcast.

There's not much said about what happened then.

All we know is that Oberon was never shown and was often kept away from the public eye.

I sighed, trying to remember more about my fiancé. I'm sure I could go to the library archives to do more research about him. Since I'm really getting married to this man, I need to be prepared for the worst outcome. Secondly, an escape. Maybe he doesn't want the marriage anymore than I do.

'Fat chance. He was the one who announced it.' My wolf said, rolling her eyes.

I took another shot, drowning lemonade with it.

Isn't this great...

After some time passed, I realized that I probably drank too much. Walking as elegantly as I could out the ballroom, I was soon in unfamiliar hallways.

They said the bathrooms were around here, but where?

That's when I started sprinting when my bladder felt like it wasn't going to hold out any longer. Suddenly, when turning a corner, I'm hit with a wall.

The fuck?

"Watch where you're going."

Discarding his statement, I got down to business.

"Excuse me, do you know where the nearest bathroom is? I really need to go."

The man cocked his brow, frowning. His expression showed his irritation. "Do you not know your way around here? Where are your servants?"

Not responding right away, the man grew impatient and asked me once more quietly yet sternly. "Are you going to answer?"

I rolled my eyes, throwing my manners out the window.

Screw proper etiquette.

Not like I'll see this man again.

"Look mister, a lady has to go. Either I piss on this floor right now and make you clean it up... or you direct me to the restroom. Which one is it going to be?"

He seemed surprised as he blinked at me. Was he that surprised that someone would speak to him like that? The man pointed behind him while calmly telling me the directions. "Back door to the left. Just go all the way down and you'll see it. You won't miss it."

I did a quick bow and thanked him before running for my dear life to the bathroom.

I really shouldn't have drank too much.

After awhile, I came out of the restroom and was greeted by none other than the man I bumped into.

Was he stalking me?

What a creep.

So much for me saying that I wouldn't see him again.

'Hold on now, don't judge.'  My wolf scowled.

'Easy for you to say, Lorelei. I just came out of the bathroom and there's a weirdo waiting for me outside the women's restroom. What's there to explain?'

'Well... your father said to be on your best behavior and we are on enemy territory. I don't know about you but I'd play it safe.'

Debating on playing the image of the perfect Titania for the sake of my father or being myself...

I went with being myself. It's not like I'll ever see this weirdo again anyways. Well... at least I hoped.

"Are you a stalker?" I asked, glaring at the man.

He immediately frowned, "No."

I placed my hands on my hips, staring at him accusingly. "You're in front of the women's bathroom though? And you're waiting for me. That sounds stalker-ish to me."

The man stared at me in silence while he made his over to me. Finally, he stood in front of me. And my lord... he was huge.

'Cheating already? We haven't even met King Oberon yet.' Lorelei said, chuckling.

This is why we can't have nice things. Ignoring her comments, I focused on the situation at hand.

"If I were to remind you my lady, you bumped into me." He replied crassly, crossing his arms.

"And?"

"You didn't apologize. You don't just bump into someone without saying sorry. There are consequences for every action." He explained, leaning in towards me. "And I don't really enjoy being touched."

'He's hot. Maybe we should cheat on our fiancé.'

'Can you shut up for a second so I can think?' I replied, annoyed with my wolf's comments.

She nodded, sighing.

Realizing what I had done when I retracted what happened... I was screwed. Crap, he's right. I didn't apologize.

If my father found out, he'd be furious.

This is what happens when I stop acting like a lady for a single second. How infuriating. I completely forgot that I threatened the man I was going to piss on the floor.

'And make him clean it up...' Lorelei added, snickering.

'Shut up. Be helpful at least.'

'Oh, I already warned you plenty human. It's too late now.'

Mentally rolling my eyes, I bit my lip to concentrate on how to get out of this situation. He doesn't know who I am, so I can just apologize and I'll be free.

Then my father won't find out and I won't get lectured.

Sounds easy enough.

Smiling, I did a curtsy, bowing. "I humbly apologize for bumping into you, sir. It was rude of me, despite me being in a hurry. It's not an excuse."

Moments pass and I hear a him walk away, his echo of, "Don't let it happen again." as he left.

God, all that for what?

Another sigh left me as I retracted my steps to return to the party.

Let's just hope this evening wraps up sooner than later.

***

It had been about two hours since my encounter with the stalker and the party was still ongoing.

Growing bored of greeting public officials, I excused myself from my father. He ignored me but mind linked me to be careful not to piss anyone off.

Heading to the balcony, I was utterly alone.

Which was great, because I hated parties with a burning passion. Breathing in the cold air, I stared at the night sky. Even the stars seemed more free than I was.

The silence was loud as I enjoyed the breeze. Getting lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice someone had crept up behind me.

"Your highness, may I have this dance?" A voice asked.

I turned around quickly, examining the person. It was a man and none other than my ex-boyfriend, Ariyk Burns.

I used to make fun of his last name, especially after I found out he was a cheating and manipulative bastard. He can definitely burn in hell, was my last words to him.

And he had the audacity to show himself in front of me again?

"No, thank you." I replied coldly, my hatred for this man showing.

He frowned in disappointment, "C'mon. Don't be like that, doll. It's just a dance."

Ariyk seemed upset as the minutes passed by. He continued to make his advancement to me slowly, trapping me to the corner of the balcony.

"One dance. That's all I ask for. Are you still stuck in the past, Titania?" He scoffed, leaning his face near mines.

I smiled, feeling my eyebrow twitch as I leaned back. "Of course. Here's the part where you'll gaslight me into thinking everything was my fault and you're a victim when in reality, we know what really happened."

He stayed silent as I saw his eyes turn black. Ariyk was outraged as he snarled, "There you go again. I dumped you because I tried so hard to be with you. Nothing I did seemed to matter."

Chuckling at his response, I glared in return. "No. You barely tried. You constantly 'hung out' and did things with your female friends. Not only that, but every time I tried to communicate with you, you would turn it around and blame me like I was the problem. You would tear me down and make fun of me. Do you realize how exhausting it is being around you? Now, here we are once more." I paused, flashing my fangs. "Do yourself a favor and go fuck yourself. And leave me the hell alone."

As I turned to walk away, Ariyk grabbed my wrist harshly. Refusing to let go.

"Get your hands off me!" I yelled, turning to punch him when a deep voice that I recognized instantly came from behind.

"She said to let go of her."

Great, another stalker.
