Chapter viii

Lilith figured she was in a dream—Another foresight. . .

She was trembling badly in that dream in front of a mysterious being after Lunar council found her. "W—who are you?" she asked the man in front of her.

The man had a silly grin while looking at her. The way he looks at her is gruesome, it is making her tremble in fear.

She couldn't see the man's face, but she knows that no way in hell that he had a good intention. She could also sense how strong the being is, and somehow, he seems familiar to her. . .

"Let me go! You already took so many years from me! I won't let you torment me any further!" Lilith shouted bravely.

The being in front of her let out a maniacal laugh ad he harshly grabbed her face, hurting her.

"Please. . . Please let me go," she begged, but the being just grinned at her

"Begging a demon? You're quiet funny woman. It makes me want to crush you," he laughed.

Lilith could only cry in pain as she gazed upon Beta Aztect, bathing in his own blood after his attempt to save her from the demon and the Lunar council.

'It all started with that woman; Helga,' Lilith thought as she saw the downfall of the empire.

Alpha Hendrix fell into his mate's trap. The moment he marked her, he became under their control. They controlled him like a trained dog, and due to his formidable power, no one is able to stop him. . .

Everyone met his wrath; he lost himself, along with the pack he cherished with his own hands.

The Alpha's mate is the reason he will meet his downfall. . .

He saw how Alpha Hendrix, who's under Helga's spell, destroyed every kingdom of werewolf territory and no one was able to defeat him. She could see in the Alpha's eyes how much he's trying to get out of the cage he's into.

A war will break out, and the terrifying demon in front of her is the cause of everything.

However, in the midst of darkness, she saw light. . . That creature who will bring chaos to the world just by its existence itself. A silver-haired woman with a pair of silver eyes and the last one of her kind.

She couldn't see her face clearly, but she saw how the woman held her hand, taking her away from that terrifying creature.

The woman had a cold gaze and her power alone woke up the Alpha from the spell that binded him.

At that moment, all Lilith's fears vanished, as if holding the woman's hand gave her strength.

Lilith was catching her breath, gasping for air while sweating bullets as soon as she woke up from the terrifying dream she had.

"Bad dream?" An unfamiliar voice asked, causing her to pause as she slowly looked in the person's direction.

She blinked, realizing who it was. It's the same woman she bumped into, that time rogues attacked the border. . .

"You slept so soundly so I didn't wake you up," she said then bit the red apple she's holding.

The woman had ‌long, wavy and black hair; her face was also very enchanting, you'd mistake her for a fairy—'No, anyone who'll see her would think that the moon goddess ascended from the heavens,' Lilith thought.

"I—It's already morning," Lilith voiced out when she noticed the bright sky.

As the memory of her nightmare resurfaced, she shivered uncontrollably. It was a premonition she prayed would never come true. A strong compulsion urged her to confide in Hendrix, but she hesitated, fearing he might mistake her for speaking ill of his mate.

"Tell him," the woman said, causing her to halt.

"W—what?" Lilith asked, making the woman smile, but her eyes remained frigid.

Lilith finds it strange that she feels like the woman in front of her knows what is happening to her—as if she saw through her dreams. . .

She looked directly into Lilith's striking red eyes and said, "I have a feeling that something is troubling you." With that, she gave her a peculiar gem in the form of a crescent moon.

Lilith looked at her with confusion written all over her face. "What is this for?" She asked.

"If you want all your questions answered, crush that gem," the strange woman instructed.

For some reason, she felt like she could trust her. . .

"Why?" She asked.

"I'm just doing some fool a favor," the woman said in a cold tone. "Follow your own judgement Lilith, or it'll be too late," the mysterious woman, whispered before walking away,.

In an instant, as if she were hypnotized, Lilith suddenly had the strength to talk to Alpha Hendrix. She just found herself sprinting into the mansion as if she had no control over her body.

Lilith is a hybrid, being both a wolf and a half-vampire. This allowed her to possess the strengths and speed of both beings, giving her the ability to run faster than normal wolf or vampire.

Vampires and Wolves aren't outright foes, but rather rivals. They coexist by simply ignoring each other, as they have ‌deep-seated animosity and have chosen to remain within their own territories. This dynamic can be compared to that of a tiger and a lion. However, some still view each other as enemies and fiercely reject each other's presence.

Lilith reached the mansion in no time and then took a deep breath as she urgently knocked on the door the moment she reached the Alpha's office.

She knows that what she's gonna reveal to the Alpha may be unbelievable to him, but she has to take the risk rather than doing nothing to present the gruesome future she foreseen.

The Alpha may be ruthless, but he's kind enough to let her stay instead of tormenting her just because she had a connection to the Lunar council. He's kind enough to give her the benefit of the doubt, so she can't just ignore it after seeing the fate that awaits him.

For once, she wanted to face her fear.

"Talk," Hendrix demanded firmly while they were inside an office with no windows or doors. It seemed like a secret study room that no one knew.

Devon shortly followed them, too.

Lilith took a deep breath then looked at them directly. "As you both already know, I have the ability to see the future through my dreams," she started.

"What about it?" The Alpha asked.

"I had a foresight about the Luna, and I hope you won't think of this as a personal attack as what I'll be disclosing is solely what I saw," she stated, taking a momentum.

"What did you see?" Hendrix asked with a dim expression.

"Helga is a demon's lackey. She is one of the Lunar council's ally, that's what I saw," Lilith revealed. "The moment you mark her, it will cause complete chaos. You'll be under her spell Alpha and the Midnight Fangs will meety its demise—"

Lilith was interrupted by the Alpha's word. "I heard enough," he declared in a frigid tone. "How would I know that you're telling the truth?" he interrogated.

His expression is dark, frightening Lilith. "What evidence do you hold, woman?" He pressed on.

"We both know that she said no lie, Hendrix," Devon meddled. "Your unfavorable behavior is the reason the Moon goddess has bestowed upon you such a mate—just saying," he added, earning a snarl from the Alpha.

"If you have nothing important to say, I'll have to go," Hendrix hissed at them, clenching his jaw.

"You can't just ignore this Hendrix," Devon followed.

"I'm not talking to you, f*cker," Hendrix frowned.

"At least I'm not a sucker," Devon chuckled, mockinglly, annoying Hendrix more.

"I'm not sure how you see Helga, Alpha, but in my foresight, Helga looks completely different as she's merely using a spell to trick you on how you perceive her," Lilith revealed. "Her hair is black and her eyes is the same color," she added, causing Hendrix to halt.

"I'm not gonna waste my time here any further," Hendrix declared and left, leaving the two, alone in the study room.

"Tell me everything you saw and I'll convince that assh*le," Devon said, breaking the silence.

Lilith just let out a harsh breath and nodded her head.

Lilith told Devon everything she saw like he asked to, since she agreed to tell him her foresights in exchange for her protection.

After that, Devon took her out of that room. She didn't even notice that they were already outside.

"You!" They we're greeted by Helga's fuming face. "What did you tell Hendrix?!" She exclaimed while pointing her fingers at Lilith.

"Go back to the mansion, Helga," Devon commanded in a frigid tone.

"What did you tell him?! What lies did you tell him?!" She pressed on, hysterically.

"What are you scared of, Luna?" Devon asked in a mocking tone seeing how much Helga is trembling.

"Why are you siding with her?! You are working under Hendrix!" She shouted.

"I'm working under Hendrix, not you," Devon shrugged.

"Then you should at least side with me as your Luna and not protect her! Is she your mate or something?!" Helga said out of rage.

"Why would I side with you? You're not my Luna as I am merely working under Hendrix, not a member of this pack," Devon chuckled coldly, causing Helga to clench her first. "Let's go," he told Lilith as they turned their backs on her.

However, as he was about to open the door, Helga suddenly sprinted in an attempt to pounce on them.

Devon didn't even glance at her as he effortlessly deflected Helga's attack. "You wouldn't like me mad, Helga. Don't test me," Devon exclaimed in a commanding tone.

Helga couldn't figure out why she couldn't stop shaking at a mere warning from Devon. She just froze while glaring at them sharply.

Lilith on the other hand was just staring at the gem, the mysterious woman had given her. She's having an urge to crush it, just as the woman instructed.

"I will tell Hendrix about this!" Helga exclaimed.

"No need," Alpha Hendrix's voice echoed through the hall.

Lilith flinched, surprised that he came back, causing her to accidentally crush the gem she's holding.

It was Hendrix with Beta Aztect, who had just come back from his mission. Aztect met Lilith's eyes, making her heart race faster than normal as she avoided the Beta's gaze.

She missed him. . . For some reason she does.

As soon as Lilith crushed the gem, her mind was flooded with images, causing her to shut her eyes. The excruciating headache she experienced forced her to lean against the wall for support.

"What is happening here? I was only gone for a moment and there's already a commotion?" Hendrix snarled. The warriors who was watching them immediately gave way to them.

"I was simply telling this b*tch to know her boundaries and stop trying to ruin our relationship!" Helga yelled. "Why don't you just kill her?! Who knows what she is planning?! Isn't she connected to the Lunar council?!" Helga voiced out.

"Lilith is innocent," Beta Aztect meddled with a grim expression.

Lilith on the other hand is tearing up while holding her head as she recalled all the memories she lost.

"I can prove that," Beta Aztect added.

"And who are you to meddle with us? You're a mere, worthless Beta!" Helga blurted out, insulting Aztect.

"Helga!" Alpha Hendrix snarled.

"Yes, I am indeed Just a Beta. Someone that Alpha trusted the most, which is how I earned that position in the first place. It's enough reason to tell that everything I will disclose is truth as I have no reason to lie," Beta Aztect declared.

Helga just took a step back with what he just said.

"Proceed," Hendrix said on an authoritative voice.

Aztect paused to inhale deeply before speaking. "I encountered her 15 years ago, much earlier than expected. She was only nineteen at the time, and her parents informed me they had to keep her hidden," Aztec gazed at Lilith with affection evident in his silver eyes. "Lilith is my mate. . ." he revealed.

"W—what?" Lilith managed to whisper despite her head getting flooded with memories. Memories of her life that were snatched away from her when she got captured.

"I proposed providing protection, but her parents declined, fearing that the Lunar Council would be able to track them down, given that Lunar council were eyeing our pack closely and I am the Beta of Midnight Fangs." Aztect proceeded to recount the story to them. "They pleaded me not to reveal their location, even with you, Alpha Hendrix due to the great danger it posed. And now, as I see her again, I am filled with regret. I regret giving in to their wishes that day. I should have been more insistent. I had no idea she had been captured!" He exclaimed.

Lilith on the other hand was silently sobbing, remembering the gruesome fate her parents had.

"Lilith is your cousin, Alpha. . ." He revealed, causing Hendrix to halt.

"That's imposible, my uncle died in the great war," he pointed out.

Aztect shook his head and recounted the story. "15 years ago, I met your uncle accidentally when I was in the middle of my mission. He told me that he managed to escape after getting struck by a spell from that demon that cursed him. Using the remaining power he had, the only path he could take was the path to ‌Vampire's territory. He fought the curse for a few days and it eventually took effect in the deepest part of our rival's land. Your uncle fell asleep for a very long time and no one knew he was alive. He was surprisingly woken up by his mate, the rumored vampire princess. After that, they had a child, which is Lilith. The proof of that is her necklace, which her mother owns," Aztect declared, earning a gasp.

Lilith could only cry while clenching her first, anger rising deep inside her heart while remembering what had happened in the past.

"Why didn't you tell me this Aztect?!" Hendrix snarled, angrily. He had no idea that his last remaining family was still alive.

"My apologies, Alpha. Their lives are in grave danger at that time. They fear that returning here may put Lilith in even more danger, as the being they are seeking refuge with has been closely watching our pack," Aztect gritted out

"Where are they?" Hendrix asked.

"Dead," enraged, Lilith growled. "The Lunar council killed them! Ten years ago they did!" she exclaimed.

Her skin was now covered in red fur and her claws dug deeply into the ground as she transformed into a large red wolf, with intense fury in her gaze before releasing a deafening howl.

She sprinted and continued running until she finally reached the creature in the dungeon that the pak held captive. The same being who had taken her captive and conducted experiments on her.

"Tell me who did it! Who killed my parents?!" She interrogated.

She's filled with rage and overwhelming pain as the memories of her family rushed into her mind. The memory of that day, a mysterious being murdered her parents.

She killed the Lunar council official in the dungeon, with no mercy when she found no answer from him.

"Lilith." It was Aztect who hugged her from behind.

Lilith could only cry as she shifted back to her mortal form. She's in so much pain after remembering everything.

"I'll help you, my love. . ." Beta Aztect whispered in her ears.

Somehow it was calming her down as she looked at the dead council's coldly. It was the council Aztect held captive to interrogate, while he's out for a mission.

"Sorry I'm late. . . " Aztect whispered, tearing up while hugging Lilith tight.

Turns out, Aztect didn't disclose that Lilith was his mate until het gets justice for her as he felt ashamed and regretted not fighting for her at that time. He was in deep pain, imagining how much Lilith have suffered at the hands of the Lunar council in the span of ten years.

"We'll make that man pay Lilith. . ." Devon from behind said with a terrifying aura around him as he glanced at Helga coldly. Helga just looked away.

"Tell me everything and we'll make a move," Alpha Hendrix said firmly, making Aztect nod his head.

"I'll take Lilith to her room first," he sighed as he stared at his mate, who had just fallen unconscious into his arms. "Everything will be alright, my love," he whispered as he kissed her forehead lovingly.
