Chapter iv
Lilith felt nervous, hearing what he had just said. "You smell just like a wolf, but reak smell of a blood sucking parasite," he grinned, clenching his jaw.
Lilith felt goosebumps all over.
In a blink of an eye, Ghost grabs her neck and the Beta is inexplicably sent flying, crashing into the wall.
Lilith struggled to breathe, desperately attempting to pry Ghost's hand from her throat as she hung in the air, gasping for breath. Her feet flailed, searching for solid ground. "N—no. . . I didn't do anything," she stammered.
Alpha Hendrix later instructed Devon to put Lilith down. "I'm gonna ask you questions and your answers will decide if you're worth living or not," Hendrix said frigidly. His gold eyes almost seemed glowing as he stared at her, seemed to be observing her every move, counting her every breath.
It is making her feel anxious and frightened.
"What is your connection with the Lunar council and their evil schemes?" The Alpha asked on a bored tone.
"I—I am their captive, Alpha," Lilith answered while looking down, silently praying.
Alpha Hendrix looked at Devon's direction, who just nodded his head. "She's telling the truth, Alpha."
Alpha Hendrix tapped his fingers on the table as he watched her closely. "Why did they capture you? What are the council's intentions for experimenting on hybrids?" He persisted.
Lilith gulped, unsure if she should tell the Alpha about her power. However, she's afraid that if she lied, Ghost would kill her.
"Answer me woman!" He growled, enough to make her collapse to her knees as her tears started rolling down her cheeks.
She's shaking so much, not being able to take how terrifying the monster in front of her.
"Alpha! She won't be able to answer your questions if you were scaring her," Beta Aztect pointed out as he helped Lilith stand up.
'Moon goddess, please guide me. . . ' she silently prayed.
"Why are you being experimented at?" The Alpha pressed on.
Lilith took a deep breath and gathered all her courage to speak. She needs to hold on to her life as it's all she had."I—I was held captive by the council because of my ability, Alpha," she answered, truthfully. "They wanted me to enhance my ability first, before taking it for themselves," she added, trembling.
"What's so special about your ability that the Lunar council just couldn't sit still right now, just to find you?" Hendrix asked. " I have no tolerance for deceit, woman. If you are honest with me, I may consider aiding you, but if you dare to deceive me in my own land, I will instantly send you to the afterlife," he warned.
"I wouldn't dare, Alpha!" She exclaimed. "I—I wanted to live. . ." bulong niya.
"Then tell me the truth, hybrid," he commanded. His intense tone is making her knees wobble even more.
Alpha Hendrix is indeed intimidating. She's never met such a strong being based on his aura alone. Even when he wasn't in his wolf form, she could sense the menacing presence of his wolf and how frightening it was.
"I have the gift of foresight Alpha. A gift that allows me to catch a glimpse of the future through my dreams. They intended to exploit this power against you in the future," she revealed, causing the room to fall silent.
It's a gift that no one had other than her. The reason she was held captive by the greedy Lunar Council for so long.
"She's telling the truth, Hendrix," Devon confirmed after the deafening silence.
After Hendrix's name accidentally escaped Devon's mouth, the Alpha gazed at him for a brief moment before turning his head to face Lilith. "I see. . . That's enough. Go back to your quarters as I will think about what to do with you for now," he told her in a cold tone.
"A—Alpah when can I leave?" she asked.
"After confirming that you pose no threat to the empire," he hissed and turned towards Devon. "Capture the council members who conducted experiments on her," the Alpha commanded with a smirk.
"Alpha, may I go instead?" Beta Aztect volunteered, with a dark expression on his face. "They have debts to pay. I want to be the one to take them to you," he explained while clenching his jaw.
After experiencing a sense of relief, Lilith suddenly became completely weak and fell to the ground.
Aztect managed to catch her in time and let out a deep sigh. "I will bring her back to Headquarters," he said.
Alpha Hendrix was confused, watching the strange behavior from his Beta towards the hybrid woman.

"You're finally awake," a gentle voice said.
Lilith slowly opened her eyes and was greeted by a familiar ceiling. Beside her is Beta Aztect, who's busy peeling some apples.
She slowly sat from the bed and embraced herself.
"What's gonna happen to me now?" She asked.
Aztect sighed. "Nothing's gonna happen to you. Alpha may seem ruthless, but he doesn't take innocent lives. I assure you. . . I won't let it." His gentle voice somehow made her feel better, and for some reason, Beta Aztect seems familiar to her. As if she had already encountered him before. She just can't remember, no matter how much she tried.
Lilith's confusion was evident in her voice. "I noticed how you protected me earlier, but compared to the Alpha, I am essentially a stranger to you. So why do you treat me with such kindness?" she asked.
She noticed the loneliness in his silver eyes as he gazed at her, but he quickly dismissed it. "I just know that you're innocent. That's why I'm siding with you," he smiled.
"Enough to meddle with your Alpha's business? You could die, you know that?" Lilith asked.
Aztect just chuckled. "Nah, that man is just hot headed but deep inside, he couldn't hurt the ones he's close to. Plus, I've annoyed the Alpha quite a few times, annoying him now won't be unusual," he winked. "If you ever feel suffocated, I could tour you around when I'm back from my mission. You could also ask some female warriors while I wasn't here. I'll tell them to escort you, so you won't get bored, staying in your room all day while waiting for the investigation to finish," the Beta added.
Lilith blinked a few times, hearing what he said. "Really? I could do that?" she confirmed.
She's afraid of cramped and dark places, so she dislikes staying in her room all day.
"Yeah, the Alpha will let it since there are warriors patrolling all around the pack," he shrugged.
Being able to walk around freely is something she's never experienced in ten years she's been held captive.
That dark room has been her life. She's been chained, experimented with and tormented in those ten years. Everything she's seeing now is new to her as she can't even remember her life before being captured.
Although she must depart eventually, she's aware that leaving the territory of M9idnight Fangs would also be dangerous due to the council's pursuit of her.
She doesn't know what to do anymore.
"Y—you're going to find those c—council who held me captive r—right?" she asked, nervously.
"Yes," Aztect responded in a serious tone.
As Lilith gazed at him, he flashed a smile and playfully ruffled her hair. "Don't worry, I didn't become the Beta of the strongest pack for nothing," he teased with a wink.
***
As promised, Aztect arranged for a group of female warriors to accompany Lilith on her outing for some fresh air.
"You smell strange," one of the warriors pointed out in the middle of their outing.
"Keisha!" One of them exclaimed.
The warrior named Keisha just laughed. "Sorry, I just thought out loud."
"Sorry about her. My name is Ralna, by the way. That fool is Keisha and the other girl is Helena," Ralna introduced them. The other two warriors just smiled at her.
"M—my name is Lilith," she also introduced herself in front of the female warriors.
She finds it awkward to converse with others as all her life, she's only been accompanied by rats in that dark room.
"Your name suits your beautiful face," Keisha giggled, it made Lilith feel shy.
Lilith thought that the pack members wouldn't even like seeing her walking around freely, but surprisingly, they didn't seem to mind.
Although some of the pack members showed kindness, Lilith could sense that most still didn't fully trust her. She could feel their wariness as their teeth clenched and some even let out growls as she walked by them.
"Pay them no mind, they wouldn't hurt you unless you do something," Ralna assured her.
Lilith couldn't help but just sigh as they continued walking around the pack.
'Ralna seem stronger than most warriors here,' Lilith thought, randomly.
Being a hybrid, Lilith has sharper senses and is stronger than most werewolves or vampires. That's how she was able to feel someone's intention or how strong the being was in front of her.
'Speaking of strong. . . That man, Ghost is really strange,' she thought as she gently massaged her neck.
"Ghost. . . The one who took me here, who exactly is he?" she asked, Keisha.
"Oh him? Aside from the Alpha and Beta, no one really knows him. He just randomly showed two years ago, but I heard that he's been working with the Alpha for a long time. I'm just not sure how exactly long," Keisha responded with a shrug.
"Weird. . . I can't sense any source of power from him, not even a wolf. Yet he's very strong," Lilith commented.
"Hush! We don't talk about that here," Ralna pointed out.
"S—sorry, I was just curious," Lilith said, apologetically.
"Nah, Ghost seemed cool with it," Keisha chuckled.
"I heard Ghost lost his wolf after loosing his mate, that's why he couldn't transform," Helena commented.
"That's weird. . ." she mumbled.
If he doesn't have a wolf, then how is he so strong?' She thought.
Lilith halted when she felt a gentle wind that suddenly passed by her. She looked around and it seemed like no one had noticed the strange presence.
"Rogues!!!" She heard them shout.
The warriors shift into their wolf forms, readying themselves for battle against a large pack of rogues near the border.
The ruckus caught her attention, and in the midst of that chaos, a woman suddenly faced her, making her gasp.
"Y—you surprised me. Since when are you there?" she asked.
The woman standing before her possessed lengthy dark hair, and an enigmatic presence. She was mesmerized as she gazed upon her beauty, as if a goddess ascended right in front of her.
"You dropped this," the woman muttered as she handed her the handkerchief Lilith dropped.
'Her voice sounds like a lullaby. . . ' Lilith thought.
"Thank you," Lilith responded.
The woman just silently nodded her head and started walking pass her.
"Wait—" Lilith froze; the woman was gone, just like that.
"Who are you talking to? We've been calling you since earlier!" Helena exclaimed with a sense of urgency.
"Did you see that woman?" She asked.
Helena looked at her, confused. "What woman? You've been in daze since earlier. Hurry! I need to take you back to he headquarters or Beta Aztect would kill us!"
'What just happened?' Lilith thought.
