Chapter ii
It was five years ago that the silver wolf got reunited with the oldest witch, Nimue, centuries since they last met.
"Nimue," the silver wolf called the oldest witch as she met her through their dreams.
"Did you call for me? I sensed it. What happened, my dear?" The witch asked.
"My emotions took control of me when I saw the person who destroyed my home at the Lunar temple. Although I managed to hold back from causing a disturbance, I could feel the necklace concealing my true identity, starting to crack. I am unsure of what consequences this may bring," she sighed.
"What happened? Are you hurt child?" Nimue asked, concern is visible from her voice.
The silver wolf shook her head. "We didn't fight as I just saw that monster lurking around. I wasn't able to go after it either."
"Oh my goodness. Be careful," Nimue uttered.
"I will. I am still at the Lunar temple, currenly gathering more information. I'm safe so don't worry too much about me," she smiled at Nimue making her sigh.
"I can't help but worry about you. You're in a dangerous mission after all," Nimue voiced out. "What if you try finding your mate? I could remove that spell in the necklace you're wearing, so you could still find him, " she offered.
The silver wolf shook her head. "I don't need a mate Nimue," she answered firmly as she gently caressed the cracks on her necklace.
A necklace that Nimue, the most powerful witch alive, created solely to protect the silver wolf from their enemy. It's a necklace created from the powerful shards that the blue moon drops once every millennium, so once broken, it would take another millennium to create another one.
They call it the blue moon's tears. A jewel that not only could conceal your true power from others, it could also hide you from your fated mate.
"Keep in mind that you cannot hide from your mate forever as that jewel is fragile. Especially everytime it detects a strong power from its owner," Nimue warned.
"I know that. I just need more time for my vengeance. I don't even know if I'll remain alive after all of this," the silver wolf uttered. "I don't want my mate to exprience a fatal pain that could last a life time if ever that happens, so it's better to prevent it by not meeting him at all. Then let the moon goddess, give him another one, once I'm gone," she added, hurting Nimue.
"How about you my child? How about me? I do not wish to lose you too. . ."

It was also five years ago when she first met him. . .
After the necklace had slight cracks, she started having weird dreams; a dream of meeting a mysterious man who happened to be her mate.
"My Luna. . ." His sensual voice whispered in her ears; it caused her breathing to hitch despite knowing that everything is just a dream.
Just like the first time she met him in her dreams, she still couldn't stop her heart from beating. Every time they touched, she felt thousands of sparks running through her body, like it was real.
"Alpha. . ." She smiled at him, but it didn't reach her eyes.
Although she feels extremely happy meeting him, she shouldn't forget that she could never meet him.
Because she knows that she'll eventually die. She doesn't want her mate to experience a never-ending pain by losing her.
She needs to have her revenge. She wants to seek justice for her home, and she knows she'll never be happy in the embrace of her mate knowing that the being who killed everyone in her home is lurking around freely.
"I haven't met you in a while, I've been sleepless for days," she chuckled while looking at the Alpha.
The only thing she knew about her mate was the fact that he was an Alpha. She just doesn't know who it was, considering that there are hundreds of packs under each kingdom.
"Why is my Luna sleepless? Is something bothering you?" He asked.
"Just my duties. . ." she answered and smiled at him.
Seeing how lovingly her mate looks at her makes her feel guilty, she almost doesn't want to sleep so she won't meet her mate anymore.
'Goddess of moon, Selene, please don't let us meet. Please give him a mate that is more deserving for his love. . .' She prayed silently.
She's lying if she says that she doesn't want to be with her mate. Deep inside, she knows how much she wanted to just leave everything and jump on her mate's embrace.
"I missed you," she told him genuinely then caressed his face as she hugged him tight.
They both shared a passionate kiss, and through their dreams, they spent their night in the warmth of the arms of each other.
A warm feeling that she knows will disapear once she wakes up from the beautiful dream as she again embraces the numbing cold.
She's a prisoner of her past and would continue to be chained into it until she kills that terrifying creature with her own hands.
'Mate huh?' She thought bitterly. . .
She needed to choose between vengeance and love, so she chose justice, hoping her mate would someday understand and move on.
Praying that he'll be finally happy, once the moon goddess blesses him, with a second mate that could reciprocate him.
The thought gave her fatal pain, but she had to endure it.
A lonely tear fell from her eyes, which she immediately wiped away as her eyes turned grim with a blank and cold expression registered on her face.

Present day. . .
***
Lilith woke up from another dream. She had a longing expression on her face as she sat and looked outside the window, seeing the vast golden valleys of the empire.
She placed her hand on her chest, where her heart was located, trying to calm herself down.
She's still at Midnight fangs, lost and confused after being tormented for a long time. She doesn't know where to go, nor until when she could stay at the place. She have no idea what fate awaits her.
She had nothing, feels nothing and remembers nothing. There's no trace of her forgotten past, other than the necklace she is wearing.
But this place, for some reason, gives her a strange feeling. She feels pleasant and at ease. Something she never felt in the past.
However, Lilith is aware that she shouldn't stay too long at the pack as it is known as the most dangerous territory you could set foot into.
Lilith doesn't even know where Lunar Council gets their guts to plan on even taking down Alpha Hendrix. His terrifying power is radiating all over the place despite not meeting him yet.
She's afraid that once Alpha Hendrix finds out that she's somewhat connected to the Lunar Council, she'll meet a terrifying end.
She's suffered enough from the councils and tried her hardest to survive; she don't want to meet an agonizing death at the hands of the reigning Alpha.
For some reason, even if she couldn't remember a thing, there's a voice in her head that kept telling her to live.
Now that she had the chance to escape from that hell, she had to really fight to live. She knows she had to escape, but something seems like telling her to stay.
Also, that strange yet most fragrant smell she's ever smelled is ruining her head. It's making her heart pound faster as she keeps stopping herself from trying to find it.
She doesn't want to get in trouble, especially since the empire is like a place filled with death traps.
One wrong step and you're dead. . .
She knows that she need to be careful not to reveal what kind of creature she is.
'How could I escape?' She thought as she closed her eyes and felt how many warriors were everywhere.
She sighed harshly as she stood up. Her crimson eyes were scanning the place, finding a way to escape.
She previously heard from the Lunar Council that the pack members of Midnight Fangs are especially strong as they're far more formidable than any other wolf.
"I have to be careful. Just how can I get out of here without anyone noticing?" she asked herself.
She felt nervous as she looked around, seeing that there's no place to escape.
Lilith sighed.
Looks like she's got no choice but to escape from the front door. Maybe try to trick the pack members.
Lilith took a deep breath as she slowly turned the doorknob and opened the door. There, she was greeted by a long corridor. The whole place looked like an old castle. From where she is, she can see hundreds of warriors training on the training ground with their wolf forms.
She sneakily walked through the corridors in her attempt to escape, however, just when she was about to walk to the left, she bumped into a group of Deltas laughing together.
"Don't even try to to escape!" One of them pointed out.
Lilith gasped at his voice that sounded like he was roaring.
The man laughed and looked at the other warriors. "Did I do good? Is it frightening enough?" he asked.
The Warriors laughed and gave him a thumbs up. "Mid, but you did good. Especially the roaring part. Maybe you should sound colder next time!"
Lilith was afraid and confused trying to sneak in when the sweaty warriors suddenly put their arms around her shoulder.
"P—Please, just let me go. I promise I won't cause any trouble to you," she pleaded.
"Maybe your face scared him too much," the warriors laughed.
"Oh come on! Don't I look handsome?" he grinned then winked at Lilith who's trying to remove the warrior's hands from her shoulder.
"Don't insult us like that," the other warriors frowned.
The Warriors then looked at Lilith. "Unfortunately, only the Alpha can decide your fate. Even if we wanted to let you go, we still wanted to live, so you better go back to your room," the warrior commanded with a faked deep voice it made him cough a few times.
"I—I just wanna be free. . . " Lilith pleaded even more, sensing that the Warriors didn't have any bad intentions.
"Well if you don't want to go back, we're more than happy to drag you into the dungeons. There, you can have rats to accompany you, if you're that bored," the warriors shrugged.
Lilith just looked down, on the verge of crying.
"What's happening here?" a menacing voice said, making the warriors immediately bow their heads.
Lilith's heart pounded fast, unsure if it was due to the nervousness after hearing the unfamiliar voice from behind.
She could feel how strong the man behind her, it almost weakened her knees. It's an empire filled with the most powerful werewolves, after all.
"This woman that Ghost took in as a prisoner is attempting to escape, Beta," the Warrior politely answered.
'Devon? My cousin? So this is the same woman he took here from the Lunar temple?' Aztec thought. "You're scaring her, go back to your training," Beta Aztect ordered them.
"Really Beta? How judgmental you can get? We just look scary but we're not scaring her at all. What do you want us to say when we saw that woman attempting to escape? Fly high little butterfly? Slay queen?" The Warriors dramatically exclaimed, annoying the Beta.
"Do you want me to personally train you again huh?" Beta Aztect gritted his teeth.
The Warriors just zipped their mouth, afraid to annoy the Beta further. "Come on we're just joking! In fact, we're on our way now!" They cutely smiled in front of the Beta while blinking their eyes.
"Disgusting! Get out of my face before I beat you all up!" He hissed, earning a grin from the warriors who had just retreated.
Aztect just frowned, then looked at Lilith with a serious expression. "You should go back to your room for now," he sighed then was about to hold her arm, but Lilith flinched.
Beta halted from the reaction he earned. " I'm not gonna hurt you," he assured her.
"Your alpha would," Lilith said, almost stammering.
Aztec just shook his head.
Aztec seemed more approachable, but she couldn't trust anybody.
"He won't. He may seem like a monster like the rumors says, but he still knows what is right and what is wrong. He just wanted to ask you some questions, don't worry about it," he reassured.
Lilith was just observing him silently while he's talking. She's amazed by how beautiful his silver eyes are, as she never saw someone with those eye color.
His hair also has a nice brown color, which made her wonder how nice his fur would be.
"I'll take you back to your room for now. You need to recover first," he said with a bright smile that brought her warmth.
Lilith nodded her head at him as she silently followed the Beta back to her room.
"Are you comfortable? is there anything else you need?" he asked.
Lilith just silently shook her head, looking down and couldn't meet the Beta's gaze.
"You could ask the omegas if you wanted something. Don't worry too much, the Alpha wouldn't hurt you, I won't let it," he winked at her, making her halt.
"R—really?" She asked.
Aztect nodded his head at the woman.
"W—Why would you go that far for a woman you bearly know?" She again asked.
The Beta stared at her for a few seconds before answering her. "I just feel like it. You don't seem bad," he shrugged then gave her one last reassuring smile as he closed the door, noticing that Lilith isn't comfortable with anyone inside the room.
She sighed as she tried to calm herself down. Just like the first day, she could still feel that someone was staring at her. As if someone is observing her carefully, making her feel uneasy.
"C—Come out, whoever you are. . . " She said, gathering all her strength while looking around. "I said come out!" she shouted, consumed with fear.
She could feel a very powerful aura of a being she should never mess up with. It's very intimidating, as if it is slowly devouring her.
"Lilith; that's your name right?"
