Chapter i
In the middle of a forest, is a woman at the verge of death, filled with wounds, sprinting away from the beings chasing after her.
"Lilith!" The terrifying voices shouted her name, terrifying her more. Her eyes turned red as she increased her speed, trying her best to run away and escape that hell she'd been trapped into for a decade.
"Lilith!" The terrifying voices echoed throughout the place.
She felt her heart pumping nonstop with fear and her body is already in a weak state due to pain and exhaustion.
The last thing she expecting is bumping into a tall figure of a man dressed in all back and his mask not showing anything, not even his eyes.
It almost seems like a shadow.
"W—who are are you?" she asked in a small voice, trembling in fear as she felt his gaze, despite not being able to see the man's eyes.
She can feel the man's terrifying aura, far more powerful than the council who caused all her sufferings.
"N-No. . . Please, I 'll do anything! Just don't bring me back to that hellish place!" she pleaded desperately as the man took a step closer to her.
The mysterious man chanted some words in a cold manner. That was the last thing she heard before she fell into a deep, comforting slumber. . .

Meanwhile, howls of a lone wolf searching for his mate can be heard in a deep frozen forest.
It's dark and cold, yet he could feel the warmth of his mate—his Luna, as he ran as fast as he could to search for her.
As usual, his mate is at the end of the burning forest, in the middle of the frozen lake, gazing at the moon with a lone expression in her face.
"Luna. . ." Hendrix Kayden mumbled the moment he transformed back into his mortal form as he saw the familiar figure of a silver-haired woman.
His breathing hitched as his heart started pounding just by the sight of her.
Although he is aware that he could only meet her in his dreams, he knows perfectly that what he feels for her is real and isn't a mere illusion.
"I finally found you," he said with a dark expression on his face, while his Luna just smiled at him.
"You seem mad, is my Alpha's patience running out again?" She said in a sweet tone making him frown.
His Luna went near him as she gently touched his face, making him close his eyes feeling the spark from her touch.
His hand reached for her waist and leaned closer to his mate.
"I'm sorry I couldn't meet you for days," she sighed. "I couldn't sleep," the woman added and smiled at him softly. "I wonder what you look like? I often forget it the moment I wake up," the woman chuckled.
"Meet me then," the Alpha said in a serious tone. Just like his mate said, he also forgets what she looks like every time he wakes up from the dream. In addition to that, he'll also forget any details about her, like where she's currently residing, if she spoke it to him.
"I can't. . . " she smiled at him bitterly.
Even if they are aware that they can only meet each other through dreams. The two fated souls could feel an intense and burning desire to feel each other's warmth.
"Why not?" Hendrix asked his mate. "Tell me, Luna," he pressed on.
"Even if I wanted to, I couldn't. . . " she said with a lonely expression on her face. "I can't ask for more than this my love, this is more than enough for me," she added.
"How about me? I've been waiting for you for so long, Luna," the reigning alpha pleaded.
"Then can you wait longer? I know this is selfish, but I couldn't act rashly Alpha," she said, and looked away.
"You're in pain again," Hendrix sighed and pulled her into an embrace. "Who's hurting you? I'll kill it whoever it is," he uttered in a menacing tone.
"I'll be the one to do it, my mate. . ." She said in a dark expression.
He can feel how she loathes whoever it is that caused her great pain. The same feeling he felt when he first met her through his dreams, five years ago. . .
"I will find you Luna, and I will help you. I promise you that," the Alpha offered, but the woman just shook her head in disagreement.
Just like every time he was with her through their dreams, they spent their whole night together. He almost didn't want to wake up, but his mate always leaves early.

The moment Alpha Hendrix woke up, he just looked outside the window with no emotion that could be seen in his eyes. All he can feel is emptiness right after waking up to reality.
The Emperor who reigns over the biggest and strongest pack; The empire that all kingdoms fear of messing up with.
Alpha Hendrix Kayden, the oldest and strongest wolf alive. The wolf who came from the direct bloodline of the first creations of the moon goddess; The very bloodline that betrayed her.
That is why everyone believes that Alpha Hendrix is not given a mate.
Something he almost believed in, until he met his mate through his dreams; The only place he could feel the joy of being alive after being a lone wolf for the longest time.
It may seem like a mere delusion to others, but Hendrix strongly believes that his Luna, that he meets on his dreams is real.
The strange thing is, he couldn't find her at all despite searching for every nook and corners of their empire.
"Devon," he called someone outside.
Devon is the one who kills for him and does everything cleanly, leaving no trace behind. Despite not being a member of the pack, Devon works solely for Alpha Hendrix.
He's someone who had no sound, presence and let alone smell.
A dangerous pawn of Alpha Hendrix, whose as fatal as a sharp wind that could kill anyone in the Alpha's way in a second, without hesitating—The Emperor's ghost.
"Yes, my lord," he said, not even a second after Alpha Hendrix called him.
Anyone who knows about his existence would think that he should be the Beta instead. However, Alpha Hendrix knew better as Devon isn't any different from a double-edged sword, that sharpness could hurt even its wielder.
"Have you found any lead about the oldest witch?" He asked without even looking at the man as he stood up from his bed and tied his long black hair. The sun's rays caressed his copper-toned skin and golden eyes as it rose, creating a radiant glow around him.
"I apologize, but I haven't, Alpha. Nimue is too careful; it's as if she is not existing at all," he reported.
"Are you sure she's still alive? everyone knows that she's already dead. Just saying," said his Beta—who's surprisingly still alive despite his annoying personality.
"Shut up Aztect, I am not talking to you," the Alpha hissed, annoyed with his Beta's sudden appearance.
Aztect, the individual he relied on the most, whom he took under his wing after losing his parents thousands of years ago to vampires during the war.
Aztect is the son of his deceased father's Beta, so he doesn't have much choice.
"I know that Nimue is still alive, I could still feel her disgusting magic lurking around the kingdoms. I just don't know where that witch hag is hiding," Hendrix exclaimed.
The reigning Alpha wanted to ask the strongest witch about he dreams he is having and if she had a way for him to find his mate.
He can feel it. . . His mate needs his help.
"Devon, I want you to go back to the Lunar temple and find me a lead about my mate. For now, Aztect will be the one to find a lead about Nimue instead," he ordered.
"W—what? Alpha! You know how hot headed that witch old hag towards me! Just say you want me dead instead!" Aztect yapped, remembering how he used to annoy the witch when he was a teen ager.
She turned him into a frog after that for a hundred years.
"Are you more afraid of that witch than me, Aztect?" Alpha asked. Aztect didn't have a choice but to just zip his mouth.
"Fine. I'm just your slave after all," Aztect said dramatically.
Aztect, the Beta of the Midnight Fangs who could even take down a whole kingdom's army without a sweat, is now flipping his invisble long hair as he retreated with a swaying butt—jokingly.
Devon had a disgusted expression behind his mask as he watched his cousin make a fool of himself.

A few days later. . .
***
An injured woman woke up in an unfamiliar place. Touching her wounded stomach, she slowly sat fromthe soft bed where she's lying in. She looked at the window and got dazzled by the rays of sunlight touching her crimson red eyes.
She has a very pale complexion and her ash-colored hair reaches her waist. She's filled with wounds and scars from lashes, indicating the torment she experienced for a long time.
'Where am I?' she asked and embraced herself while looking around.
It seems like the room she's in is a clinic and the glass windows are locked.
She can see the beautiful view of tall valleys outside and unfamiliar faces, sparring with each other.
Far from the dark place she's trapped into for the past few years.
The unfamiliar place looks very beautiful. It fascinates her as it's the first time she saw what the outside world looks like.
"W—What's this place?" She again asked herself, feeling weak due to her injuries.
In their world, the beings living in it have a very long life span. They wouldn't age and wouldn't get sick. They wouldn't die unless someone kills them.
They are immortals who don't possess rapid or immediate healing abilities, similar to the tales told about such beings.
despite that, they are very strong beings; Their speed cannot be compared to a mortal and even if they don't regenerate instantly, they heal faster than mortals do.
"Show yourself!" she exclaimed, feeling that someone is observing her.
She had the same feeling, a familiar aura, as the man she last saw before she lost consciousness.
She also noticed that she had no chains, and is not on a cage as usual.
'Where did that man take me?' she asked at the back of her mind.
As soon as she sensed someone approaching the door, a sense of fear overcame her. She couldn't help but imagine it was one of those eerie figures in a cloak, about to subject her to another experiment.
As she was about to escape, a beautiful woman already got inside. The woman is wearing a lab coat. The woman has tattoos all over her chest, up to her neck, she also has piercings on her face and her blue hair complimented her bronze skin.
The woman smiled at her brightly, catching her off guard. "You're finally awake!" She said joyfully.
Her blue eyes were looking at her warmly, far from those wicked and disgusted look she gets from those beings who tormented her.
She's not familiar with the feeling.
"Don't be frightened, I am a friend," the woman, who appeared to be a doctor, spoke while maintaining her distance, as she seemed uneasy. "My name is Sierra. I am the pack doctor here at Midnight Fangs," she introduced herself proudly.
"M—Midnight fangs?" she asked, shocked.
It is the name of the pack that she always hear the councils are talking about and how badly they wanted to take down its ruler.
"Wow, you don't know Midnight Fangs?" Sierra asked, making the woman shook her head.
"Hmm, how do I explain it," Sierra looked up into the ceiling while touching her chin as if the answer was up there. "Well, Midnight Fangs is what they call the Empire who reigns over the five ruling kingdoms. Each Kingdom has multiple packs under their wing, while the empire is ruling over those kingdoms. I'm not sure if it makes sense to you. Basically, the strongest only have the right to rule and Midnight Fangs is on the top," Sierra shrugged.
The woman nodded her head, although she's still confused and didn't really understand Sierra's explanation.
"Why am I here? The last thing I saw is a man that looks like a shadow and has a terrifying aura with him," she asked.
"Ghost? Well, he took you here last night after his mission at the Lunar Temple. Weird, because he never took pity on anyone. Are you perhaps his mate?" Sierra pressed on.
"Mate? What's that?" The woman asked.
The pack doctor just smiled at her. "Well don't push yourself, you'll know once you find it anyways," Sierra shrugged.
Right now, all the woman is thinking about, is the possibility that she finally escaped that hellish place. 'I wish I really did. . .' she silently hoped.
"How are you feeling by the way?" Sierra asked.
Somehow, she feels comfortable with the pack doctor. "I still feel weak, I couldn't move much," she answered.
"Do you remember anything? What is your name?" The doctor asked another question making her halt.
She shook her head and sighed. "My name is Lilith. . ." she introduced herself, unsure if that's really her name to begin with.
For some reason, she could still feel those hot stares observing her every move; it made her feel anxious.
On top of that, she could smell a very fragrant smell nearby. A fragrance that's making her heart skip a beat, as if it would burst out of her chest.
***
"It seems like the woman couldn't remember anything but her name, Alpha," Devon reported to Hendrix while he is out hunting with Aztect, who also just got back from his mission. "She was tormented and experimented with by the councils. I'm not sure what kind of being she is and why would the Lunar Council lock her up throughout the years," he added.
"Observe the councils and investigate further," he ordered.
Devon bowed his head. "Yes, Alpha," he responded and left.
