Kabanata VI

LILITH has blood stained dress that smelled like rogues. That's what Devon noticed as he looked at her uneasy face.

She seemed confused and tired.

"Anong ginagawa mo rito?" pag uulit niya.

"Nagkaroon ako ng pangitain sa aking panaginip," nanginginig niyang saad.

"K-kukunin daw ako ng councils sa pagbisita nila s-sa pack. . S-so I sneaked out desperately. I ran and ran when rogues suddenly chased me and just lost my c-conciousness after that," pagkukwento nito.

"Of course, this mountain is full of rogues, you should've known that," Devon said coldly.

"But this is the safest place, the councils won't go here according to my dream. . ." nakayuko niyang saad saka natigilan nang makita ang dugo sa braso ni Devon.

Napansin iyon ni Devon, kung kaya't agad niya iyong pinunasan.

Lilith is sure, he had a wound in there, but now it's gone.

'Am I hallucinating?' she asked at the back of her mind.

"Then you should've informed the alpha, you're still under observation," Devon said unpleasantly as he held her arms.

"P-Please don't take me back yet, what happens to my dreams comes true and if I go back in there, the councils would surely sense me!" she begged.

Nanatiling nakatingin lamang sa kaniya si Devon.

"How would I know if your foresight is right?" he asked.

"Bukas.  . ." buong tapang siyang tinignan ni Lilith.

"Paglubog ng araw ay darating ang ilang miyembro ng councils upang makipagpulong sa Alpha. Then one of them would sense me. They will distract everyone after finding out I was hiding here and they would catch me. I have to hide to stop that, so please don't take me back yet, ghost!" she continued.

"Please. . . I don't want to go back into the hell," she begged and was about to touch him when 

Devon just stared at her.

"What would I gain from helping you?" he asked coldly making Lilith stop.

Tila ba pinanghinaan siya ng loob.

"I-I'll do anything you want, just please help me now," she continued convincing him.

"Hindi ko kailangan ng tagapagsilbi babae. Pero may magagawa ka kapalit ng pagtulong ko sa iyo," sambit nitong nagpamulagat sa mga mata ni Lilith.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Anything, ghost, just help me," determinado niyang saad.

"Fine," Devon said in a cold tone making Lilith stop.

"Really?" she asked the man in front of her.

"Yes," he shrugged.

"I'll protect you every time the lunar council tries to harm you, I will hide you that they wouldn't even find a trace, in one condition," he uttered.

"I want you to inform me about your dreams, your foresights. I want to know what will happen in the near future every time you see it through your dreams, I want to know, that's all  you could do for me," dagdag pa ni Devon.

Even if the mark he was wearing don't have any holes for his eyes of his mouth, Lilith could feel how cold his gaze was.

"But why?" Lilith asked.

"Do I need to explain myself? ikaw ang may kailangan dito Lilith," kibit balikat niyang saad.

"Fine," Lilith sighed.

"I'll do it," matapang niyang sagot na nagpatango kay Devon.

He then suddenly carried Lilith like a sack of rice making her squeal out of shock.

Devon didn't say a word as he ran. It is so fast that she felt like they almost teleported to where they are now.

"Close your eyes or else I'll leave you here," sambit nitong nagpamulagat sa mga mata ni Lilith.

Ang huli niyang nakita ay kung paano tumalon si Devon sa malalim na bangin na nagpasinghap sa kaniyang mariing ipinikit ang mga mata.

In a matter of second, she just felt how they stopped.

Ibinagsak siya nito sa lupang nagpasigaw sa kaniya.

"H-How?" hindi makapaniwalang saad niya.

Kitang kita niyang katatalon lamang nila sa isang bangin ngayon ngayon lang.

Now there's not even a trace of that deep cliff.

Tila ba isang ilusyon lamang iyon. 

Ngayon ay nasa isang kagubatan at sa gitna nito ay ang malaking puno.

She could feel the place filled with elements, with spirits and they seems to like Devon.

"Where are we?" Lilith asked.

"You wouldn't even know even if I tell you," he said.

Nakasunod lamang sa kaniya si Lilith. Lilith froze when he held her arms as they went inside that big tree.

Bahagya siyang nagulat dahil ang normal na punong iyon ay dinala sila sa loob ng isang napakaganda at malawak na mansiyon.

"How? aren't you a wolf?" Lilith asked.

"I am," Devon responded.

Marami pa siyang gustong itanong rito ngunit alam niyang hindi naman siya nito sasagutin.

"No one could find you here, no need to worry. I'll take you back once I made sure the Lunar council left," he informed.

Lilith somehow felt relieved as she continued following him.

Nakarating sila sa isang napakalawak na silid aklatan. Bahagyang namangha doon si Lilith.

"Ngayon lamang ako nakakita ng ganito karaming libro," masaya niyang saad.

"It's not much compared to Alpha Hendrix collection, considering his old age," Devon shrugged.

"Really? how old is he?" Lilith asked.

"Two or two millennium," Devon answered making her gasp.

"What?" she said shocked.

"What is so shocking about it? were not really immortals since we could die, but as long as we don't we don't really age. Let's just say the longer you live, the stronger you are," litanya niyang nagpatango tango kay Lilith.

"How about the Beta? aren't beta's supposed to be the most trusted man of alphas? Ralna told me that," pagkukwento niya.

"That asshole is also an old hag, he's about one thousand years old, raised by Alpha Hendrix himself. That's how he became the beta," Devon answered as he just sat to read a book.

"How about you? how old are you?" She asked him, she felt him glare at her.

"Still young," Devon again answered.

Lilith just pouted as she find some book to read.

"What is a mate?" Lilith asked, while still searching.

"Someone the moon goddess sent to be your other half, your fated one," he still answered on a bored tone.

"Do I have one?" Lilith asked.

Devon just shrugged.

"Do you have one?" She asked.

Muli ay hindi iyon sinagot ni Devon na nagpabuntong hininga lamang kay Lilith habang naghahanap ng mababasa.

"You know how to read?" Devon asked.

Lilith glanced at him.

"I thought I don't, but somehow I remember how read even if I was detained for a long time," she said then finally found a book.

"What is this about?" Lilith asked.

"History," Devon shrugged.

Lilith just nodded her head as she started reading.

It was a pretty interesting book until she came across the history of Midnight Fangs.

"Midnight fangs is the oldest and the first werewolves to be alive. They are loved and cherished by the goddess of moon so Lucian blessed them with the power of sun. The two great gods bestowed the first wolves great power to rule their land," pagbabasa ni Lilith.

"Until he turned his back to the moon goddess, when he loved a demon instead of his mate. The reigning Alpha became a Tyrant who kills innocent lives like insects for his lover," pagpapatuloy niya saka tumingin kay Devon.

"Books can be tampered, but not the memories of beings who witnessed it," Devon pointed out making Lilith nod her head.

"But there is said a being who is first created by the the creator. A lone being whom until  now, believed that is just a myth."

The whole midnight fangs were delighted as they finally met their Luna. 

A woman with both silver hair and eyes and had a peculiar aura around her.

Nagkaroon ng isang malaking piging ang buong pack. 

The presence of the reigning alpha's Luna is a proof that the goddess Selene removed the curse of his blood because of what his deceased father has done.

"Helga," Hendrix called her name as he held her waist.

The woman smiled at him as she gave him a peck.

Strangely, the alpha doesn't feel anything. Yet he's sure that she is his most awaited mate.

"What's the matter?" she asked sweetly while holding onto his arms.

The alpha just looked at her and shook his head.

"Nothing," he said while looking at the pack members having fun at the big celebration.

But then everyone stopped as they all felt an unpleasant presence.

"Alpha," someone suddenly appeared.

"Devon," he called his name while looking at him.

"Some of the lunar council's officials are here," malamig niyang saad na nagpadilim sa ekspresyon ng alpha.

"I don't want to waste my time on those insects," Alpha Hendrix said.

"Okay, should I go kill them?" Devon asked.

The alpha is about to agree, when Helga interrupted.

"I think, that's not a good idea," she smiled while drawing circles on the alpha's arms.

"I'm not asking your opinion," Devon said making the alpha glare at him.

"Respect the Luna, Devon," he growled.

"Why?" he asked in an innocent tone.

"I am not your subject," he shrugged.

"Then should I just kill you?" kunot noong tanong ng Alpha.

"Loosing me will cause you more lost than gain anyways. Ikaw din," Devon let out a chuckle.

Napatiim bagang doon si Hendrix.

"Devon," he warned.

"Hendrix," Devon mimicked.

Hendrix gritted his teeth out of annoyance.

"Excuse me," Helga cleared her throat making both of them look at her.

"I wanted to know why the councils are here," she said then looked at Devon sharply

"Probably to dig up their grave," he shrugged.

Helga just sighed then looked at Hendrix.

Hendrix then signaled the warriors through a mind link.

Wala na din si Devon sa kinatatayuan, at ni hindi man lang nila namalayan ito.

"Who is that guy? he's annoying," kunot noong tanong ni Helga.

"Devon, Beta Aztect's cousin," Hendrix answered.

"Your beta has no other relatives right?" she asked.

"How did you know?" Alpha asked.

"Your pack is quiet famous," the Luna shrugged.

"Beta is raised in this pack but his father had a younger brother in the fallen fifth kingdom. Devon is the only relative he had," He revealed while holding her hand.

It's really strange. . .

His wolf is not reacting when it is the first one who rejoiced the moment he felt her.

"Alpha Hendrix," the Lunar council officials greeted him with a smile.

A very annoying smile.

Just by looking at them disgusts him. Looking at their greedy faces makes him want to crush them.

"You'll cause a war if you kill them," Helga whispered while caressing his arm.

"I'll win," he said.

Helga's eyes sharpened.

"What brought you here," sambit niya saka nakapangalumbabang umupo.

He had a calm composure but he is filled with bloodlust.

He felt their fear, their greed, their anger. 

"If this is unimportant, I won't let you get away with it," he said while looking at them as if they were just bugs to be crushed.

Hindi iyon nagustuhan ng council ngunit walang magawa kung hindi ikuyom ang mga kamaong buong tapang na tinignan ang alpha ang ngumiti.

"We just wanted to see the Luna of the Midnight fangs, it is our job alpha—"

natigilan ito nang makaramdam ng pagtulo ng dugo sa kaniyang pisngi ang braso.

Samantalang ang alpha ay walang emosyon lamang na nakaupo na upuan sa kanilang likuran.

Narinig nila ang paghalakhak ng mga pack members sa nangyari. Nakaramdam sila ng pagkapahiya roon.

"If you keep this up, alpha, you'll just collect more enemies," mariing saad nito na nagpangisi lamang sa alpha ngunit nanatiling walang emosyon ang kaniyang mga mata.

"I collect corpses too," he said unbothered about his threat.

"Leave," he growled, frightening the councils.

Napaatras ang mga councils doon.

The Lunar councils who does not give up on trying to bring him down for thousands of years yet could not 

"Babagsak ka din alpha, huwag kang masyadong mayabang dahil nalalapit ng mangyari iyon," mariing sambit nito.

"Yeah, I'll take you with my grave then," he grinned.

The Lunar council had no choice but to leave.

Because if they don't, they wouldn't be able to get out alive.
