Kabanata XVIII

ANG IKA-LIMANG KAHARIAN ng mga lobo. Katulad ng ibang kaharian ay binubuo ito ng mga packs na pinamumunuan ng mga alpha.

At ang pinamalakas na pack rito ay ang Winter moon na pinamumunuan ni Remus.

Si Remus ay tinaguriang pinakamatandang lobo at pumapangalawa lamang si Hendrix noon.

Kilala siya sa kaniyang husay at talino, at isa siya sa mga naunang nilikha sa kanilang mundong kinagagalawan.

Ang winter moon ay ang pumapangalawa sa pinakamalakas sa pack sumunod sa midnight fangs.

Ang kanilang kaharian ay wala sa kalupaan kung hindi ay nasa himpapawid dahil sa mahilang ibinalot roon ng ama ni Remus bago ito pumanaw matapos ang malawakang gera at hindi pagkakaunawaan at upang protektahan na din si Remus at ang kapatid nito kaya naman ay nagpasyang humiwalay ang kaharian sa iba pa.

Si Remus ay ang hinirang na alpha nang magpasya ang kapatid na maging beta ng namayapang alpha ng midnight fangs dahil malaki ang utang na loob nito dito.

Naging maayos at mapayapa ang pamumuno ni Alpha Remus sa ikalimang kaharian. Kasundo niya ang bawat alpha na namumuno sa bawat teritoryo at sa loob ng ilang libong taong pamumuno ay napanatili nila ang posisyon bilang pangalawa sa pinakamalakas na pack ng mga lobo sa buong mundo.

Dahil narin doon ay hinihimok siya ng Lunar council na mag aklas sa namumunong alpha na si Hendrix dahil hindi nila ito magawang talunin.

Ngunit kahit pa anong gawin ng mga ito ay walang bahid ng ganid at inggit si Remus.

At kahit pa ilang libong taon na ang nakararaan ay hindi pa din niya nahahanap ang nakatakda sa kaniya.

Araw araw ay ito lamang ang kaniyang hiling sa diyosa ng buwan, ngunit tila ba hindi nito siya naririnig.

One day something different from usual happened.

Before his mother died out of loneliness, she gave her a journal. He didn't open it a month after her funeral.

Her energy runs out and chose not to live for she couldn't live anymore years without her husband,

And when he read the journal, he found out that it is about a being that she could talk to. A spirit of someone close to her heart.

She is not dead according to the journal but found a way to remove her soul from her body after it got frozen hundreds of years ago when she fell on this world but got lost. And since Remus mother can talk to spirits which he inherited, he managed to talk to her too.

And for some reason something about her makes him feel so eager to help no matter how much she push him away since she only accepts his mother as her friend.

As if they were deeply connected.

The spirit is filled with resentment, She is lost and she's evil but day by day as he bothers her more she slowly opens up to him and told him her story.

A story of a being from another world who has done a lot of wicked things she had to escape before she get executed.

That is how she fell into this world but froze because of the mana that someone like her couldn't take.

A being who got stripped off her immortality and was exiled but she told him some of her power remained.

She used Remus and his willingness to help her. She thought he's jut doing it for her deceased mother.

She used him to find her body and if he could help her find a way to go back and have revenge afterwards.

But as soon as they found her body frozen in the deepest part of the ocean of the empire.

Turns out he is actually his mate, the fated mate of the alpha of the fifth kingdom.

She got guilty and revealed her real intention then left confused.

"Isa nanaman ba ito sa kaparusahan ninyo saakin?!" galit na galit niyang turan nang magpakita sa kaniya si Selene.

"Hindi pa ba sapat ang ilang libong taon kong pagdurusa?! Why did you make me that stupid wolf's mate!" giit niyang nagpailing sa kausap.

"But you love him do you?" Selene smiled.

Hindi nakasagot doon si Vina.

"I am not the one giving them their fated ones. The moment you two were born, you are already connected," mahinahong pagpapaliwanag ng diyosa ng buwan sa nilalang na kaharap.

Ang nag iisang nilalang sa kanilang mundo na kayang makipagusap kay Selene.

"You changed your ways because of him, you found who you really are because of Remus, do not deny it Vina. I know that you finally found your happiness with him, all you have to do is accept it and have the courage to free yourself from the past. They have forgiven you already, forgive yourself too and be happy with him, that is all we wish for," Selene added.

"I have done so many wicked things, Selene, I don't deserve to be happy," nag iwas siya ng tingin, ngunit natigilan nang may ipakitang isang ilusyon sa kaniyang diyosa.

Ang imahe ni Remus na naghahanap sa kaniya.

"He's searching for you, he's been searching for you non stop since you left, Vina, I know you could feel it because of that mark," Selene smiled.

"He might be mad at me for leaving him without a word," napayukong saad nito.

"Does he look like he's mad?" Selene chuckled.

"I am a mortal now," mariing sambit niyang nagpabuntong hininga sa diyosa.

Hindi niya basta nalang baguhin ang parusang iniatang kay Vina.

"Then makee the most of it. That child of yours deserves to be happy too," Selene said then touched Vina's belly.

"I, Selene, goddess of the moon sha'll bestow this child my blessing, may she have the light whatever path she takes," she whispered as Vina who seem shocked looked at her.

"T-Thank you, thank you so much Selene," naiiyak nitong saad na nagpatango sa diyosa.

"Now go. . ."

She smiled.

Two days since Devon killed Ashina. Devon went on a quick mission to ruin the enemy's plan after finding out the information Ashina has.

She had a satisfied grin on his face as she travelled back into the pack after going on a mission last night.

Lilith informed her that Ashina and Helga's father is getting near and near so she immediately went back.

"Where did you go?" Lilith asked concerned.

"Just stretched a bit to the north," she shrugged.

Pabagsak niyang naupo sa upuan ng opisina ng alpha habang wala ito saka sinindihan ang smoking pipe na naroroon.

"That's not healthy," komento ni Lilith.

"Were immortals," Devon said uninterested.

"What do you want to ask, Lilith?" Devon asked noticing how uneasy she looks, making the woman sigh.

"You can't say you do not want to be nosy when you are planning to," Devon hissed.

"That symbol is nothing, it is just an ordinary birthmark," she added.

Nangunot ang noo ni Lilith roon.

"But I felt it, a strange power is coming out from there, it made me tremble even by remembering it," napayakap sa sariling saad nito.

"Then don't think about it, don't even talk about it, lalo na kay Hendrix, malinaw ba?" taas kilay na saad nito.

"But why?" Lilith asked again.

Devon rolled her eyes on Lilith.

"Just don't, you can do that for me right?" She uttered.

Wala ng nagawa pa doon si Lilith kung hindi ang tumango.

"So how near the fucker is to the pack?" Devon asked with a lazy tone.

Lilith is trying to control her foresight so she could use it and daydream. She doesn't know how could Devon do it, but it seems like she could manipulate her into day dreaming even if she is wide awake causing her to see a glimpse of the future earlier.

"He's already nearing the mountain of rogues," Lilith informed.

"Did you already alert everyone while I was gone?" tanong ni Devon.

"Yes, the pups are already underground while the omegas are taking care of them. I also assigned some warriors to protect them," she said making Devon grin as the alpha's office opened revealing the zeta's and gammas.

Gamma wolves are fighters under the beta while Zeta's are the highest ranking warriors of the pack or the generals who take direct orders from the alpha.

"The alpha told us to follow whatever you command, ghost," seryosong saad ng Zeta na nagpatango kay Devon.

"How many are with Adolphus, lilith?" she asked as she bit the apple.

"About a hundred of demon wolves, Devon," Lilith said as her eyes flashed worry.

"Inform the warriors, to surround the borders and fight the demon wolves warriors who is aboutto attack the pack, we'll fight them head on. But do not attack their leader. I'll be the one to kill Adolphus," malamig niyang saad sa mga ito.

"Masusunod ghost," puno ng repetong saad ng mga ito na nagpatango kay Devon.

"Good, you may go now. Don't let your guard down," she said as she stood up.

When the Gammas and Zetas left, Devon also started preparing.

"You won't disguise yourself?" Lilith asked.

"I won't, I want to have a sweet reunion to that bastard traitor who sold his own land. The beta of the Winter moon, Adolphus will die in my own hands as soon as he stepped into midnight fangs turf," Sambit niya kasabay nito ay ang pagkasunog ng hawak niyang mansanas na bigla na lamang nagmistulang abo na bahagyang nagpatayo sa mga balahibo ni Lilith.

Devon's eyes were cold and blank but she's smiling, she's smiling widely and her aura is filled with bloodlust.

If Lilith were as weak as before, she'll faint because of Devon's overflowing energy. It is making her tremble.

"That man. . . I remember him, Devon," naikuyom niya ang mga kamao.

"When my parents were killed by our enemy, he's with him and he is the last one I saw before I woke up in the laboratory and lost my memory," mariin niyang saad dito na nagpatiim bagang kay Devon.

"I'll kill him Lilith, I promise you that," seryosong saad ni Devon.

"Thank you, Devon, but most importantly is your safety, I can't lose another loveone," naiiyak niyang saad na nagpangiti lamang sa kausap.

"I won't," she responded as she finally left the room to fight Adolphus who is coming to attack.

She saw how the warriors skillfully fought with the demon wolves but they are weak against adolphus.

Ngunit hindi sila ganoon kahina upang mamatay agad.

"Bring me the one who killed my daughters!" galit na galit nitong saad na nagpangisi kay Devon habang nakatayo sa dulo ng bubong upang makita ang buong kaganapan.

She is filled with desire of vengeance. Her power if overflowing, the broken necklace could barely hold it.

Seeing that man again is triggering her memories. How her family died, how she lost her home and how the fifth kingdom crumble into pieces.

'that disgusting traitor. . . seeing him makes me want to vomit,' she thought as she clenched her fist while her hair were being swayed with the wind.

Past memories continued to flash through her mind and it is making her loose her sanity. Her desire for vengeance is overflowing as she went down in front of raging Adolphus with an emotionless demeanor.

It's been more than two hundred years and as time goes buy, her wanting revenge didn't change a bit.

She will claim what's hers, she promised hell to those who sinned upon her and she'll do everything to have what she desires the most even if it might cost her, her life in the end.

"I did, I killed you daughters, Adolphus, and I would do the same thing a thousand more times if I were given a chance," ngisi nito habang sinasalubong ang nanlilisik na mata ng lobong tinraydor and kanilang lupain.

"You. . . You're alive," mariing giit nito kay Devon.

At the same time is Alpha Hendrix who hurried back as soon as the Zetas informed him what i happening.

And as soon as he was about to step in, seeing Devon about to fight the man infront of her, he froze the moment Devon removed her necklace.

Revealing her silver hair and the most fragrant smell he ever encountered that those fakes failed in comparisson.

His heart raced as he stared at Devon shocked.

'Mate!' sabay nilag saad ng kaniyang wolf.

Devon looked at him and as their eyes met, a bitter expression registered on her face as she looked away.

"Remus and Vina's daughter! Serene!" galit na galit na saad ni Adolphus sa walang emosyong kaharap.

"Mine! Mate!" sigaw ng alpha.

Naikuyom ni Hendrix ang mga kamao at akmang susugurin ang lalaki nang balingan siya ng matalim na tingin ni Serene.

"I'll be the one to kill this man, Hendrix, do not interfere," matigas nitong saad kasabay ng pagpapalit nito ng anyo.

She shifted into a gigantic silver wolf with glowing eyes and a strange symbol on her forehead.

In front of them is a being they never thought existed. It made everyone tremble by the sight of her, an existence of being that would brought chaos once known.

A silver wolf with nine tails who had the blessing of the goddess of the moon, Serene. The only being who could talk to the heavens.

The reason why Bardulf is so eager to find the daughter of the late Alpha Remus and the celestial nine tailed fox, Vina.
