Notes:
   Merlin meets with his brother, Arthur, on what's happened while he was gone.

   Rose gasped as she looked upon the sight in front of her.
   Stretched out in front of her was a large meadow, all green grass and lots of wildflowers with a large cavern etched into one side of the valley. Mountains surrounded this area on one side, woods on all others.
   It was beautiful!
   Merlin smiled at her reaction, urging her forward as they stepped down into the valley, Gwaine and Lancelot leading the way. Several weres dotted the meadow, some in human form, others in wolf form. As Rose neared the bulk of the pack, a group of pups rushed past, one wolf chasing a small boy with curly red hair.
   Just as Rose started to feel anxious from the number of people around her, Merlin took her hand, reassuring her with that one small gesture.
   Merlin was excited to bring his Omega mate home to meet his pack! For years, he'd felt...lonely. Sure he had his family and was running the pack, but he had longed for love. His parents had been true mates and he'd known ever since he was a child that he would not mate unless he found his true mate. And now he knew he'd made the right choice.
   Merlin thinks back to his pack's history, something he'd discussed with his Omega while on their journey. His pack had lived since biblical times, hiding in plain sight. At one point, an entire kingdom had been a pack, the Alpha Pack Leader being the ruler of that kingdom. That was long ago, though.
   It makes him sad to remember that their pack had once been mighty yet seemed to be falling, like all others.
   He snapped out of his thoughts as he heard a shout and then his brother appeared.
   Rose seemed more intimidated by Arthur than she had by Gwaine. In her mind, she wasn't certain if he was anything like his brother. Arthur was tall--not as tall as Merlin but still--with shaggy blond hair, blue eyes, and a more muscular body than Merlin's. The were in question was dressed similar to his brother, both of them in loose fitting clothing.
   He's an Alpha alright, Rose realized, and very proud of that fact too. His attitude and demeanor was very intimidating.
   Merlin wrapped an arm around her, protectively, as Arthur approached. "Brother! You've returned!" He shouted, rushing forward to clasp hands with his Alpha Pack Leader. "When you were gone so long, we feared the worst." He shook his head.
   "Well I'm fine, thanks to my true mate."
   "True mate?" Arthur responded. "Well that is news!"
   "I will gladly tell you the tale but you and I have other things we need to discuss...in private."
   "Of course." Arthur said, all business now. "To the den."
   Merlin offered Rose his arm and she took it as they followed Arthur into the cave. When she entered it, Rose found it not to be a cave as she previously thought, but a cavern cut into the side of a mountain, with tunnels going in all different directions.
   After walking a few minutes, they had arrived. They walked into a room that was fully furnished, which surprised the Omega who assumed that all the rooms would be mostly stone, due to the weres mostly wolf nature.
   Merlin sat down in a throne, setting Rose on his lap. Arthur settled in an armchair, relaxing.
   "So, before we begin," Arthur began, "I'd like to know the story of how this happened."
   "Very well." Merlin agreed, nodding his head. "I found some information on our problem so I should tell you about that as well."
   Merlin told his story, explaining everything that had happened since he left, the ferals, meeting Rose, and finding out who she was. Arthur teased Merlin at some points, making the two men send each other sassy remarks.
   When Merlin had finished his story and had told Arthur the information he learned, his brother finally responded, "Well, it seems the trip was useful after all. However, brother, I must strongly recommend you don't go on another trip for awhile. You almost died and we need you."
   "I know." Merlin sighed. "And I won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Rose is still in the final throes of her heat and needs to be taken care of. On top of that, after we have our formal mating ceremony, there's a lot of other things I need to take care of."
   "When do you intend on having the formal ceremony?"
   "Whenever her heat is over. It shouldn't be more than a day or two."
   "Well, today the both of you need to get your rest. I can take care of things here for awhile longer."
   As Merlin was contemplating this, another wave of Rose's heat came upon her. She whimpered, pressing herself against her mate. Merlin held her close, hushing her.
   Without breaking his conversation with Arthur, Merlin snapped his fingers, laying his mate bare before unzipping his pants, pulling his erection free.
   "Make sure you're on the lookout for ferals." Merlin warned as he guided his Omega onto his aching cock. "We've come across more of them on this trip than I care to. And Rose mentioned she'd seen some outside her house the day she rescued me."
   He gritted his teeth as he guided Rose's hips, impaling her on his staff, raising her up, and impaling her again. The heat had taken over Rose and she bounced on her Alpha's cock without even thinking how embarrassed she should be that a complete stranger was watching her do so while she was naked as the day of her birth.
   "I figured as much. We haven't seen any around here but, last night, some of the sentries discovered hunters."
   "They wouldn't dare come this close!" Merlin growled, thrusting harder, making Rose cry out.
   "Well maybe--"
  Whatever Arthur was about to say was cut off as Rose let out a loud cry as she came all over Merlin's cock. He didn't stop though, fucking into her more roughly.    "Mother Lupa, brother! There's only so much an Alpha can take! Let's talk later!"
   Then he ran off though they could hear him down the hall yelling for either Gwen or Lance to "get one of your asses over here"! They both got a kick out of that one.
   With Arthur gone, Merlin proceeded to push Rose onto one of the furs on the floor, onto her hands and knees so he could fuck her deeper. He snapped his fingers and his clothes were gone, making it easier for him to rut his mate.
   It wasn't until they were tied, laying on the furs, that either of them spoke. "You drive me crazy, love!" Merlin said. "I wish I could give you my full attention but if we were to wait until we are alone, we might never get a chance to mate."
   At that moment, an older were entered the room. "Merlin, I must insist on coming in now!"
   "See what I mean?" Merlin asked his mate. "What do you need Gaius?"
   "What do I need?!" The older man repeated, exasperated. "I need to check that your wounds have healed and check on your Omega!"
   Rose furrowed her brow. "My love, Gaius is our resident healer. He's a Gama and the oldest living member of our pack left alive today. He's also been like a father to myself and my siblings over the years ever since our father was always busy with pack life. Gaius, this is Rose, my true Omega mate."
   "Hi!" Rose said, shyly.
   Gaius regarded her with a gentle smile. "It is indeed a pleasure to meet the true mate of Merlin here. I was starting to think he'd remain single forever."
   Rose smiled back. Gaius moved closer to look over them both. His eyes and hands wandered over their joined bodies as well he could in their condition. When he touched Rose, Merlin growled.
   "Don't you growl at me like the animal you are! I raised you boy!" Gaius shouted, hitting Merlin over the head with a spoon. "Well," he concluded, "it seems you both are in good condition aside from those nasty scars. I'll be giving you something for them later, Merlin, to help with the pain of recovery. But they will itch for a few days." He warned. Heading back towards the entrance, he added, "When you two are finished, the rest of the pack is excited to meet her. Don't hesitate."
   Then he hurried out the door.
   It wasn't more than a few more minutes before Merlin's knot broke. Sighing, he helped his mate to her feet and into her clothes.
   Taking her hand, he asked her, "Ready to meet the pack?"
   "I guess so." She replied, nervously.
   Then she walked out, following her Alpha, to meet her new family.
