Notes:
   As Rose and Merlin's journey reaches its conclusion, they are ambushed.
Warnings: some violence, smut, unintentional voyeurism, sex jokes (slightly)

   A few more days passed since Merlin and Rose started on their journey and they were getting close to home. Over those couple of days, Merlin spent his time taking care of his mate and teaching her about pack life, including how to hunt like a wolf.
   Her heat had further slowed and Merlin felt that, given another day or so, she would be back to normal. They'd most likely reach the pack before then but he could rest assured none of his Alphas would be enticed by her scent. He trusted his Alphas but not around an enticing Omega in heat, particularly not his own mate.
   Home was less than a day's walk away when Merlin decided to let his mate have a brief reprieve to rest and relax. Nightfall was coming upon them. The sky had darkened considerably and it seemed it might rain soon. Merlin suggests they take shelter from the storm. Rose agrees.
   They find shelter in a cave for the night. Rose's teeth start chattering from the cold and rain so Merlin lights a fire with magic and tells his mate to come lay down with him. She does and soon he has her on all fours, mounting her and tying with her, holding her close.
   It turns into a long night of love making, some brought on by heat and some just from the wanton need of it. Either way, he is gentle and loving with his mate and, at times, teasing.
   He holds her close as she drifts off to sleep and he watches her as she does. Merlin counts himself lucky. With the trouble going around with hunters and ferals, Omegas have become a lot more rare. He's heard stories of ferals stealing Omegas from other packs and from their homes. He shudders to think what could've happened to Rose had they not met.
   At the same time, it also makes him smile realizing that ferals, trying to get rid of him, lost a perfectly good Omega for their troubles. He snuggles closer to her and finally falls asleep.

   The next morning, Rose woke up to find herself alone again. She's used to it by this point, however, as everyday since they had begun on their journey, her Alpha has woken up early to scout ahead and usually bring back food for breakfast.
   She yawned and stretched, preparing herself for the morning. At that moment, a howl sounded in the distance and she froze. That wasn't Merlin's howl. She had become accustomed to her Alpha so she could tell the difference.
   Another howl that was not her Alpha sounded and her fear grew, growing more as more unfamiliar howls sounded all around her. Suddenly, she felt arms around her. She spun around, only to come face to face with the man from town! The one who had offered to "ease that heat" of hers.
   She felt uncomfortable, even more so when wolves started appearing from the woods in all directions, large ones similar to the ferals that had threatened her the day she found Merlin. They might've been the same for all she knew.
   The man holding her grinned evilly. "Well, well, lookie here! Now you're all alone, little Omega, with no big, strong Alpha to protect you! Now you belong to us!" He growled the last word.
   Just as the wolves started approaching, Rose panicked, reaching out with her magic to throw them back. That's when three new howls sounded, not far off, and, to her utter relief, one of them was Merlin.
   Then, all of a sudden, three large wolves burst out of the woods and attacked the others. One she recognized as her Alpha. While they were distracted, Rose shook off the Alpha holding her with magic. He was dazed for only a second before he approached her again but, this time, Merlin attacked.
   Within moments, all the wolves --or weres, whatever the case was-- disappeared into the woods once more.
   That's when Rose finally took the chance to get a look at the two other weres with her Alpha. One of them was obviously another Alpha, this one not as large as Merlin with shaggy, chocolate brown fur and dark eyes. The other she guessed was a Beta. He wasn't nearly as big as the other two and had tan fur and innocent doe eyes.
   With the danger passed, Merlin shifted to human form and rushed to hug his mate. Rose melted into his arms, barely paying attention as the other two weres shifted as well.
   That's when Rose felt another wave of heat come up suddenly, possibly from the sexy display of dominance she'd just witnessed from her Alpha. She whimpered, prompting him to lick her mating bite before turning quickly to his companions.
   "Well, I don't have a lot of time for introductions. Gwaine, Lancelot, this is my mate, Rose. Rose, this is Gwaine and Lancelot."
   Rose couldn't bring herself to do more than nod at the two tanned, muscular men with dark hair and dark eyes, so desperate she was for her Alpha.
   The were in question chuckled. "As you can see, she's still in her heat so you'll have to give us a few minutes to...ah...settle in."
   Without waiting for an answer, he grabbed his Omega and carried her to a spot secluded by bushes and low-hanging tree branches. There, he wasted no time ridding his precious Omega mate of her clothing.
   His tongue darted out to tease her nipples before wandering lower to graze her clit. She was practically begging before long so he obliged her, thrusting into her in quick, rough strokes. Rose just tried not to think about the other two weres who were probably trying very hard not to hear the sounds of their mating.
   At one point, Merlin gave her a particularly hard thrust which surprised her into a loud moan, louder than she would've made otherwise. "Ass!" She said.
   "You love it." He teased as he continued to ride her.
   It took awhile, but finally, his knot burst and the two were overcome by the familiar feeling of bliss.

   Merlin spent more time than necessary making sure his Omega wouldn't need his "services" for awhile. By the time the two of them were ready to face Merlin's companions, it was midday and the sun hung high in the sky.
   Once he was sure Rose wouldn't have another wave of her heat for awhile, they emerged from the brush, fully dressed, and made their way over to where Gwaine and Lancelot were.
   The pair had, apparently, hunted some deer while they were busy and had already started roasting it over an open fire. The two of them were sitting in front of it when Rose and Merlin showed themselves.
   Gwaine was the first to notice them and grinned. "All done then?" He teased the pair.
   Rose blushed whereas Merlin growled at the other Alpha, silencing him. "Gwaine's a bit of a hot head and doesn't always think before he speaks." Merlin explained.
   Rose simply waved, not wanting to get any closer to the Alpha than she had to. She honestly didn't want to be near any Alpha other than Merlin at the moment as she wasn't sure if they could control themselves when she was in heat.
   Gwaine nodded at the Omega respectfully. "It's nice to meet you, Omega Vixen."
   "Omega Vixen?" Rose questioned.
   "I'll explain later." Merlin whispered.
   Lancelot got up from his spot and gave Rose the same greeting, although he also added a hug.
   "Rose, this is Lancelot. He's one of my most trusted Betas and scouts as well as my brother's second mate."
   "Oh! It's nice to meet you!" Rose said.
   Merlin chuckled a little at how innocent his mate sounded when speaking to the others. With that, he guided her over to the fire. The four weres sat and began eating, exchanging words every now and then.
   Once they had all been fed a considerable amount, they started on the last leg of their journey. The pack was not far away from where they were and they fully expected to make it there by nightfall.
   Sure enough, just as the sun is beginning to set, they reach the outskirts of the pack. The outskirts consist of some old ruins, guarded by a medium-sized were with golden fur. He smiles at how the were immediately starts bouncing in excitement as he and his Omega crest the hill.
   "Hello, Seth! Do me a favor and go fetch my brother! Let him know we have returned!"
   Seth grinned and rushed off. Merlin pulled his Omega closer to him and made a grand sweeping gesture. "Well then, love, welcome home."
    And, with that, they walked through the ruins and Rose gasped at what she saw.
