Cane

I walked into my room shutting the door behind me, I knew I needed to keep my distance from her. That's what she wanted right? I'm not gone lie I was hurt, and my way of showing hurt is being mean. I couldn't believe she chose that clown over me. I know I was wrong getting head from her homegirl, but she brought that nigga to my house. When I get upset I act, and that was the best way to hurt her. I got dressed to go see my PO. I was still on a short leash after my bum ass PO put me on an ankle monitor. I got to do a check in every week now, I had no room for errors.

"Cane get down here!" I hear ma call. I got up and went downstairs she was waiting with a dude in a suit, I could tell he was a cop

"What's up?"

"Lorenzo Tejada Jr?" He asked

"Yeah..."

"Kevin Moore, I'm your new parole officer." He said holding out his hand I looked at it then back at him, until ma hit me and I shook it

"I've been following curfew, I'm clean don't you think this getting to be harassment?" I said folding my arms

"I understand that, I'm making rounds, this morning your former PO John Potter is being charged with fraud, bribery, and excessive force." He said and I looked at Ma

"What's going on?" I looked to Lauren coming downstairs

"Cane is getting a new PO the old one was dirty." Ma told her and she nodded and stood on the bottom step

"So, what does this mean for him?" Ma asked him

"We're going to take you off monitoring, return you to your old check in schedule, and with our apologies we're going to take 6 months off your parole." He said and I nodded

"Cool, can you take this shit off now?" I motioned to my leg and laughed and nodded and took the monitor off

"So, I will see you in two weeks Mr. Tejada." He said

"Thank you." Lauren said to him as Ma walked him out, I looked at her and smirked then walked into the kitchen.

Two days later

"Girl you don't look good." Myia said to me as we waited in line for our caps and gowns,. i had been feeling like shit the past couple of days. After Cane got the new PO I had been laying low from Michael. I stayed in Queens and last night I stayed with Myia, since I knew Mo was about to start questioning me about not going home. I was stressed so I assumed that's what's making me sick

"I don't feel good."

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know, I just don't feel right and I've been having a lot of pain in my stomach."

"Did you take anything?" She asked

"Some Pepto, but I don't have an appetite, my head been hurting I just don't feel good.' I told her

"Didn't you just start that new birth control not too long ago?" She asked and I looked at her

"Shit, that might be it but it just started about 4 days ago."

"You better go get that checked out." She told me and I nodded I was planning on it if it didn't get any better.

"Hey, thanks for saving us a spot." Sasha said coming over with Jazmine behind her I rolled my eyes and tried to calm down so I didn't hurt this ho

"No problem, why ya'll so late?" Myia asked them

"Ask this one." Sasha said pointing to Jazmine

"My man ain't been answering my calls." She said and I laughed

"Did you expect him to be waiting after the way you played him?" I said

"What happened?" Myia asked

"Ask that ho." I said

"Ho?"

"Ho." I said looking straight at her

"Damn Lo what's wrong?' Sasha asked

"She just mad because I got Cane."

"Girl please he took you down in an unlocked bathroom, but you winning?" I said and she stepped to but Sasha pulled her back

"Ya'll stop this is not the place!" Myia said as all of sudden I got dizzy

"We'll go to the back of the line." Sasha said pulling Jazmine away

"Lauren are you ok?" Myia asked as everything went black

Cane

I heard Rel coming up the steps I met him at the top and shot him in the chest, he felt back into the wall breathing heavy trying to stay alive I smirked and walked down the stairs towards him

"Cane please." He begged

"Don't you ever disrespect my wife." I said then shot him in head twice

"Now hold that bitch ass nigga."

I walked out to the car where Monet was waiting. She looked at me and wiped the blood off my face then drove to the bar. I went in and changed my clothes burning that shit, then I went home. Ma was in the kitchen with Dru and Diana

"What you think about ole boy?" I heard ma ask I rolled my eyes

"I don't like him, I never liked his ass."

"Make sure she don't bring him around here no more then." I told him

"I told her to bring him." Ma said and I frowned

"For what?"

"Because something is not right, she's been mad at you before but to not hear or see her for a month. That's not Lauren." She said

"I think I know what's wrong." Diana spoke up

"What you see?" Ma asked her

"I caught her up in my room, she had some bruises on her back."

"What the fuck you mean?" I snapped

"Cane hush, what type of bruises we talking about D?"

"I don't know it look like she got in a fight, I think I saw some on her ribs too."

"Why the fuck you ain't say nothing?" I snapped

"She told me it was a accident at school, I don't know that's my sister I didn't want to betray her."

"Fuck that D! you don't keep no shit like that to yourself!" I yelled

"Cane chill." Dru said

"Naw I'm about to roll on that motherfucker."

"Cane stop!" Ma shouted

"We need to talk Lauren first, she got school today right?"

"No she just picking up her cap and gown."

"Dru go pick her up."

"I'll go!" I said walking to the door

"No you gone keep your ass here like I told you! Dru go!" she told him he stood up and his phone rang

"Hello?"

"Yeah this is he." He said with a frown

"Is she ok?" He snapped and we looked at him

"I'm on my way now." He hung up and looked at me

"The was Brooklyn general, they just brought Lauren to the ER." He said
