"I have class until 1, then I have to go to 'Truth' at 5 and help set up for this party they're having there tomorrow night."

"Meet me at Tank's brother's tattoo shop when you get out of class. I want you to see this new piece I'm getting."

"That's it? I ain't got to fight you?"

"I'll see you tomorrow with yo mean ass." He said as I got out of the car

I asked Myia to give me a ride to the tattoo shop. I walked in and walked over to the desk just as I spotted Cane sitting backwards on a chair as he got is shoulder tattooed

"Hello can I help you?" The girl at the desk asked me but before I could answer Tank walked over

"She's with me."

"Hey Tank."

"What's up sis? You looking good in your school clothes."

"Shut up."

"Yo bro look who I found." Tank call, Cane looked up and smiled

"Hey." I said as I leaned down and kissed his cheek

"What's up Boogie."

"Look at mom and dad getting along." Tank said clutching his chest

"You need to get you a women, so you can mind your business." I said shaking my head at him

"Tell your home girl Myia I said what up?"

"If I do, don't be trying to play my friend."

"I'm not a player I just crush a lot." He rapped and we laughed

"Dumb ass get her a chair." The tattoo artist told him

"I don't know if you remember Boog but this is Tank's brother Omari. Dawg this my girl Boogie."

"It's Lauren." I corrected, I didn't like people I didn't know calling me Boogie, that was a family only thing for me

"Check it out." Cane said nodding to his back I walked around,

"Oh my God, that's beautiful." I said looking at the baby angel sleeping on a cloud with our sons name under it

Tank brought me a chair and sat in front of Cane

"Clearly this is your boy Cane."

"Yeah that my little man."

"Do ya'll mind if I ask what happened?" He asked and Cane and Tank looked at me I just nodded and Cane started telling him. I sat there as my mind flashed back to that day

"Boogie-" I hung up I felt a cramp in my stomach, I took a deep breath trying to calm down because my doctor has been worried about my blood pressure. I felt a little kick so I rubbed my belly,

'I know baby, mommy is calming down. Your daddy just drives me crazy sometimes." I took another deep breath the I pushed myself to my feet 

"Ok let's go." I said grabbing my purse

"Damn girl." He moaned as he came in her mouth and she swallowed it as she smiled up at him

'Strip. 'He told her

"I don't know why you put up with her." She said as she stood up

"Strip." He repeated not wanting to have a conversation with her. He just needed to get his dick wet then he can go see about his girl

"Cane I can treat you so much better than her boring ass." Cane stood up and grabbed her by her neck

"Don't you ever fucking talk about her. Now shut the fuck up and strip.' He said then let go and Teasha quickly did as she was told. not wanting to miss her chance

"Alright Lauren that blood pressure is still high, have you been resting like I told you?"

"Yeah I even dropped my classes this semester, I been putting my feet up, drinking water."

"That's good, have you had any discomfort? Sharp pains, cramping, tightness."

"Um I've been having some cramps for the past three days, and I don't know if this matters but he hasn't been moving much."

"What's not much?"

"Well I've only felt him move once today,"

"Ok well we're going to get an ultrasound, just to check up on him and see how he's doing but with that blood pressure I'm probably going to put you on bedrest." She said and I nodded then she left the room I relaxed on the table rubbing my bump until the tech came in a few minutes later

She put the gel on my stomach and brought my baby boy on the screen, I couldn't stop myself from smiling whenever I saw him. this little person had my whole heart already, I felt her moving the doppler

"Hmm." She under her breath but I heard her

"What is it?"

"Nothing I just need to check your chart really fast ok? I'll be right back." She lied making me frown I knew a lie when I heard one, my baby daddy was one of the most creative liars I ever met. She came back with the doctor I felt myself get a little worried as the doctor picked up the doppler

"What's wrong?'

"Lauren I' am so sorry but there's no heartbeat." She said but it didn't quite register

"W-what?"

"There's no heartbeat," She said again and I shook my head

"I-I was just here last week h-he had a heartbeat."

"I'm sorry now we're going to have to get you to the hospital. Is there anyone you would like me to call?" She asked

I didn't know how to respond I couldn't wrap my head around what she was telling me.

Teasha laid in her bed with a satisfied smile on her face Cane Tejada was all that and more. She ain't never had no man put it down like that on her before. Her daydream was broken by the buzzing of a phone she got up and looked it was his phone and 'Boogie' was calling. She rolled her eyes she couldn't stand that stuck up bitch. She hit ignore then put the phone on silent and went to join Cane in the shower hoping to give him some reason to stay with her.

'Breathe, baby, breathe. Deep breaths come on." Mo said in my ear as she talked me through another contraction. Because I'm so far along I still over to go through the whole process of labor and delivery. I called Cane from the doctor office but I didn't get answer. So I called Mo and she and Dru met me at the hospital and haven't my side since I got here. I had been in labor going on two hours now and there was still no sign of Cane and I was only dilated to 3.

As the contraction passed Dru came in the room, he looked at Mo and shook his head. She looked down at me

'I'll be right back ok?" She said and I nodded

"Stay with her and whatever she wants get it." She told him as she walked out of the room. Dru walked over and took my hand

"I am so sorry Lo." He said and I wiped my eyes

"I just can't help but think I did I do something cause this?"

"No, Lauren you can't blame yourself." He said wrapping his arms around me

"My blood pressure has been high ."

"Sometimes bad things just happen." He said kissing my forehead.

I heard some yelling in the hall Dru pull back and the door opened and Cane walked in followed by Mo who looked like she was going to kill him.

Dru got up and Cane took his place, he touched my hand but I pulled back

"Why weren't you there!?" I cried

"I needed you and you weren't there." He scooted closer and pulled me into his arms

"I know baby I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He said in my ear and I wrapped my arms around him

"I got you now, I got you." He said kissing my head as he held me

Nine hours later with Cane on one side and Monet on the other I pushed our son into the world. It was silence in the room as they removed the cord from around his neck. I laid back as they cleaned and stitched me up. They wrapped him in a blanket and brought him over

'Would you like to hold him?' the doctor asked but my arms weren't working for some reason, I couldn't do it. So Cane took him, I felt my heartbreak at the sight of him holding the small bundle and for the first time since I've known him. Cane cried, it was too much so I turned over to the window, and just stared out of it. I really can't tell you how long I stayed in the position all I remember is seeing the sun come up and watching it go back down.

"Lauren you got to get up I know it hurts but you have to see your son." Monet said as she rubbed my back but I didn't respond. I heard Cane say something then I heard the door close. Cane walked around and kneeled down in front of me, he looked tired his eyes were red, and they looked empty

"Baby you need to hold him, because they're going to come in here in a minute to take him, but I can't let them do that until you say goodbye." He said rubbing my cheek I felt tears fall down my face

"Just hold him, talk him if you need. I'm going to be right here baby I'm with you." He said and I closed my eyes then took a deep breath and slowly sat up. He sat next to me and pulled me into his arms and held me tight

'Are you ready?' He asked then kissed my cheek

"No, but get him." I said softly as I finally looked at the plastic bassinet. Cane got up and walked over and picked up the small bundle and brought him over and slowly placed him in my arms

"Oh my God." I broke down as I looked at him, Cane wrapped his arms around me and I leaned into his chest as we looked down at our baby boy

Very sad chapter but the back story of them losing baby Davis. Cane is in the mm with Teasha. Please vote and review
