"What?" He asked.

"I slept with Cane." I said again.

"That's nothing new." He said with a smile.

"Stop! Be serious and tell me I'm wrong." I said sitting my stuff down and I sat next to him on the bed.

"Both of you are grown, I can't tell you want to do."

"But you know how we are, he cheats, we fight, I cry, I go through his shit."

"Well, it's been two years, I think you've grown a lot. We know he wasn't getting any love in jail at least I hope not."

"Dru!" I laughed as I laid down.

"I don't know what you want to tell you Lauren. Does he know about your man?"

"He didn't tell you what happened?" I asked looking up at him.

"Oh, shit don't tell me he killed your boyfriend."

"He's not my boyfriend we broke up, but he showed up at 'Truth' Saturday after I got off trying to talk. Then Cane shows up- "

"You're living a real-life soap opera. The bold and the rachet." He said then I hit his arm.

"Anyways Cane showed Michael said some disrespectful shit, and Cane pistol whipped him. then he left me because he was mad about Michael, then he came to my place. He started kissing on me and- "

"I don't need details." 

"Be my brother right now Dru, tell me the real."

"Do you still love him?"

"I don't know."

"That's not an answer."

"Those words that feeling with him scares me, if like once I say it, he'll take free range to take advantage of me again."

"And that's when you leave. Like I said it's been two years, I'm sure he did a lot of thinking in there. I know he missed you."

"I missed him too, but is that enough?"

"I don't know but I really can't be the middleman. I'm your brother but I'm his brother too."

"That sounds so wrong." I said and we laughed.

"I can't make this decision for you, but I'll talk to him and see where his head is at."

"Thank you, D.," I said kissing his cheek.

"Eww don't be kissing on me after what you just told me." He said and I rolled my eyes then kissed his cheek again.

Then someone tried to open the door,

"Dru, Monet wants us downstairs." Diana's voice came through the door. I got up and opened it she smiled at me.

"When did you get here?" She said giving me a hug.

"Not too long I just got out of class."

"Good Zeke is signing on to Stansfield today."

"Damn why you ain't tell me? I'm not dressed." I said to Dru looking down at my scrubs.

"Girl take out that ponytail, and you look fine." Diana said and took my hand and went we downstairs as Cane walked in the front door with Zeke.

"Boogie!" Zeke said hugging me lifting me off the ground.

"You came for my big day?" He asked putting me down.

"You know this the second most important day until you get drafted boy."

"I know Nets here I come."

"Get the fuck out of here nigga you know this is a Knick house." Cane said pushing him as Mo came out of the kitchen.

"Zeke go change into your suit. Dru, Diana set the table." She told them hugged me.

"How are you doing baby?"

"I'm good Mo."

"You ain't got much longer get now do you Miss. RN?"

"6 weeks and counting my final clinicals are next week, once I find out if I passed or not, I start my application for graduation."

"Good job baby, let me know the cost of your graduations fees I got you."

"Mo..."

"I got you I'm proud you you're the first person in this family to graduate college. You are getting all your props." She said then walked back into the kitchen leaving me and Cane.

"I missed a lot huh?"

"You did." I said then went to help Diana.

Dinner went fine Zeke's coach was a little square white dude, but he was nice. After dinner Zeke signed his papers and got his jersey number '33'

"I'm not messing my hair up with this hat." Diana said and I laughed.

"Me either."

"Well, you can just hold them just make sure Stansfield is showing." Coach said and we opted to hold out our hats as he took the picture. Then he took a few more shots of Zeke. Then he left after giving Zeke his upcoming training schedule. I packed me up a plate, I went to get my stuff from Dru's room, then I walked back downstairs where Dru and Zeke were playing 2K.

"Hey I'm ready."

"Huh?" Dru glanced at me.

"You're taking me home right?"

"Cane is going to take you." He said and I frowned at him.

"His car is blocking me in." He said and I slapped his head then I turned to Cane when was sitting at the dining room table on his phone, I cleared my throat.

"You need some water?" He asked not looking at me.

"I'm ready to go Dru said you were taking me."

"Ain't nobody say nothing to me." I sighed and glared at Dru over my shoulder. Now if I cuss both of them out, they gone think I'm crazy.

"Can you take me home?"

"I think you're missing a word in there." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Please?" I added then he smiled.

"No problem."
