Chapter 4

Luna arrived in class to find out that she was in the same classroom as Evangeline. She threw herself into the empty seat next to her, next to the windows that took up most of the wall, among the first seats. He smiled at her as he placed his backpack on the desk. He looked outside, looking at the athletics track, he caught a glimpse of girls confabulating with each other, as they positioned themselves in the stands. At that moment a class or two took the field, at least that's what he thought, it was many, some divided into rows starting a series of stretches, while the two teachers corrected the less capable students and others, far from them, laze in the shade.

Only one caught Luna's attention, while exchanging a few words with the professor casting inquiring glances at the students, Alexsander began to help a teacher, he stood next to a student explaining the exercise to her. A mixed feeling of annoyance and envy took possession of her, as she saw the girl bite her lower lip and began to touch the blond's biceps. She hoped that a meteorite from the sky would fall straight on the stranger, and she was astonished a moment later when a ball hit her in the head. A smug smile appeared on his lips - Is he starting to like you? - asked a voice behind her, there she realized what she was thinking and feeling, she shook her head trying to deny everything to herself, blushing. She turned to her classmate, looking at her badly, while the latter laughed under her moustache. "Ah," she asked, pretending not to have understood, under the amused gaze of her friend, "Ah, love," she exclaimed carefreely, Evangeline, With a smile on his face, he picked up a notebook, and when he arrived, he was a chemistry professor with a mane of blond hair on his heels. Sasha walked into the classroom closing the door behind her, smiled as she saw the two girls confused as she made her way to the back of the classroom - What are you doing here? - Luna whispered, turning forward - It's our super visor - Evangeline replied - Wasn't it just one per pack? - the girl laughed under her moustache - In such a big school, I don't think you need just ten supervisors," he nodded his head to the blonde, "And she's mostly your supervisor now," he thought, "Start taking notes, I highly recommend it," he continued. The teacher began to illustrate the lesson, the students fell silent at the sound of her voice and she too was enchanted, she rested her head on her hand, while, with the other she marked the most important concepts or at least tried to, her thoughts wandered among the memories and got lost in the imagination, building a daydream. She was awakened by a paper ball from behind her shoulders that hit the back of her head. She turned to find Sasha's fiery gaze, who nodded to her and pointed to the note.

Take the lesson, or I'll be forced to torture you.

PS: Be good, I don't want to keep my brother in my ears. Kisses!

She was slightly perplexed reading those few lines, they were not in a prison, but a fierce gaze continued to rest insistently on her back, she swallowed forcing herself to follow the lesson. It was better not to oppose it, he had already risked his life twice, and a third would have been the crowning glory. - Luna, don't you think you're exaggerating? - asked a voice next to her, after hours of lessons he felt his hands tingle - I'm just taking notes - - Also about the private life of the professor? - he asked, paused for a moment thinking about Sasha's threat - And if you ask us a question about that too? - Evangeline sighed as she snatched the notebook from under her eyes, leaving her dumbfounded - Hey! I'm serious - - Did Sasha threaten you? True? - she snorted, rolling her eyes and taking her things, she nodded when she saw her friend's persistent gaze. The bell marked the end of the lesson, She yawned, getting up from her chair and putting her backpack on her shoulders, ready to leave the classroom followed by Evangelina. The professor smiled at her before they left the classroom, Luna reciprocated out of courtesy, someone grabbed her by the arm and carried her away from there - Have you gone crazy? - Sasha yelled at her, the newcomer looked at her puzzled, wondering what she had done wrong - He's a vampire! Moon! - he looked at her badly as he dragged her into the classroom where the next lesson was being held, followed by Evangeline who had stayed behind - You can't discriminate - he told her escaping from her grasp - It's not discrimination, for him you're a helpless puppy - he replied in tone, he looked at the blonde for a moment, frowning  - Excuse me, but who tells me I can trust you? I've known you for a few hours, and I think we've gotten a little too confident, don't you think? Here it seems that we are running too much! - he told her, he didn't want to look too hard or mean, but he needed space, he had to set the record straight. Sasha stood still, looking at her with a sigh, beginning to examine his conscience and whisper an apology. A satisfied Luna tried to enter the classroom - First give me your number and then you can go - she said stopping her, she rolled her eyes taking the phone from her pocket, didn't she believe these people were so insistent - Nokia? Are you serious? - he asked, raising an eyebrow, "Do you want it or not?" - she said, frustrated by that situation, and just thinking that she had another four hours left in that asylum was not the best, damn all the books and movies that made school look like a place of fun. Sasha loaded her number onto her outdated phone, for her habits, and handed it back to the owner - In case of emergency - she said before going in the opposite direction to theirs. They came in sitting in the nearest seats - New classroom, new professor, new super visor, try not to get this other's attention - Evangeline told her ruffling her hair - I hope so - replied Luna putting her head on the desk covering herself with her arms. May the Goddess be with me, he thought.

After the misunderstandings of the early hours, the day went on serenely. He found himself in the car, with his head leaning against the window and the radio on - How was your first day of school? - Jeck smiled at his niece, curious to know what had happened to her that morning, seeing her immersed in his thoughts - I made friends with two girls, even the boyfriend and the brother of one of them - he replied noticing the good mood of his grandfather, hoping for a positive feedback that did not come, since his mood changed in a matter of seconds - But... Have you listened to what I told you this morning? - His tone wasn't the best - Do you understand that not talking to guys is hard enough? You're too protective, and I need to make friends! Otherwise, I would be the only one left in the forest," she replied, making him snort, - Were they werewolves? - he asked worriedly -Emm... - - Luna - he looked at her thinning his gaze - It happens," he said with an innocent smile - "You sent me to a mixed school, If you didn't want me to meet magical creatures, would you send me to another school? - he defended himself, he couldn't always blame her if he was the mastermind - At this point we are only missing the future boyfriend - muttered the grandfather, then some thoughts began to whirl through his mind, noticing the strange silence of his granddaughter, which led to nothing good - You haven't found a mate, have you? And only on your first day - started to break out in a cold sweat having no answer - Uh Ho! Tell me who it is? And what kind of herd he belongs to! - he shouted excitedly, attracting Luna's inquiring gaze. Since she was a child when she tried to save her from other packs, vampire clans, witch villages she had a strange reaction, which led her to suspect something big in her past, about her family or just the reason why she had not yet transformed - I don't understand this agitation of yours, weren't you the one who said that I had to go my own way? - crossed his arms over his chest, while the hunter ran a hand through his frustrated hair- Yes, but not like that, that is, it's so hurried, maybe I shouldn't have listened to it, he whispered at last, Luna pricked up her ears. Did he mean his old acquaintance? I think to myself - Alexsander Forester - he spoke, giving the coup de grace. When he heard the name, he ran a hand over his face and squeezed his hands on the steering wheel - I didn't believe it... That very wolf... I can't even get rid of it, otherwise," he spoke at times, snorting and whipping every now and then - Luna you have to be careful of their family and try not to be branded - Jack believed that someone from above was punishing him, for the sins he had committed, he looked his niece in the eye, for a moment he saw the best friend of a lifetime - In what sense branded? - his niece's voice woke him up - It's a bite that their respective companions take to seal their bond - he explained, making her shudder - Does it hurt? Some say yes, pain can lead to death, others say the opposite, you know I'm not a wolf, but it's better not to risk it," he replied, scaring her, and that's what he wanted. I'm too young to die, she thought - Is there a loophole? - - You can refuse, but when you meet him it's impossible to give it up, when your companion dies you die with him, few have managed to get rid of him, but the memory will remain forever - she parked in the alley - You haven't been discovered, have you? - looked her straight in the eye - No, quiet is the only thing I was able to check today - he said, taking off his seatbelt. Jeck analyzed his words, but he didn't continue the conversation, he didn't want to know if anything else had happened that day, he had already known too much. She had to have a few more chats with her old acquaintance, her instincts knowing that she expected this and more, and he was stupid that he hadn't asked questions, like a puppet. Lunch was not one of the noisy ones, Luna felt exhausted, she blamed her menstruation and ran away, as usual, from her problems. The room at that moment seemed to take away her air, she took her backpack to go to the lake of the moon and study there, in peace and not with the constant anxiety that her grandfather was plotting something behind his back, she didn't want to think about it and it was better to get away from him for a few hours - Grandpa, I'm going out - he opened the door - And can you know where you're going? - I stop his voice, since when did he ask all those questions? - I'm going to the lake to do my homework, I want to be alone for a while - she slammed the door and left the house.

He began to run and climb trees, like a little monkey, that's how he sometimes compared himself. Being raised as a hunter had its advantages. He arrived near the shore of the lake, took his algebra notebook, lay down on the green mantle, prayed to the goddess, before beginning with the simplest exercises. He heard a rustling behind him, he turned around but found no one, it looked like a déjaviù, he sniffed the area and raised his eyes to the sky realizing it was about. That day seemed to go on forever, sooner or later he would freak out.  But after all, how could she blame him if she was his "companion" - Alexsander I know you're here - she went back to her study, the boy's footsteps came closer, and then sat down next to her - How did you discover me? - he asked in amazement - Feminine intuition? - she lifted her head from the notebook looking him straight in the eye, while he smiled at her making a small dimple come out on her cheek, her heart beating faster - Math? - he took his notebook and read the outlines of the exercises, from one of the pages she fell into a piece of paper, she tried to catch it on the fly but he preceded her - But it's beautiful - Alexsander was enchanted by the landscape that was written on the paper, he admired the strokes of the pen and its nuances. Her cheeks warmed as a faint thank you came from her lips, no one had seen her drawings, not even her grandfather, she felt naked when he shifted his gaze to her - You know, though, there's something even more beautiful - she sat down curiously, listening attentively. - he approached by reducing the distance between them - You - a simple word that made her heart do somersaults threatening to come out of her chest, she felt a strange sensation in her stomach. It was just a compliment, why did he feel that way? She covered her face with her hands, biting her lip to make them smile, he took them off - Don't cover yourself you're beautiful even when you blush - he didn't take his eyes off his, was that what you felt when you were courted? Or was she fooling herself? - You want to kill me, don't you? - she said without thinking, she was uncertain, her symptoms could be mistaken for anything - It's the last thing I would do - he told her with an open heart, she managed to detach herself from those blue irises,  but a creak brought her back to reality. He looked around, remembering that he had crossed the forest grounds, and jumped suddenly, "You shouldn't be here! - she almost screamed as she walked away - You literally ran away from school without saying goodbye to me - he replied in his defense - But why did I have to say goodbye to you? - She read a sense of disappointment in the boy's eyes, perhaps she had exaggerated to talk to him like that, for her they had met that morning, but for him she was the person she had been waiting for all her life. It was all too new, he didn't have much tact about these things. Another alarm bell ringed in his mind - By the way, how did you know I was here? - she snapped at him, waiting for an answer - I followed your perfume - she replied defensively. It was obvious, she thought, wolves have a more than developed sense of smell, but it made her think - Orange and musk - he said in a low voice, thinking back to two days before. - The young man did not understand, the girl repeats aloud, Coming closer to better smell her, he stiffened on the spot, suddenly she had become bold - It has become one of my favorite flavors - she said without thinking, as if she were in some kind of trans. In reality, it was the bond that took possession of her. He swallowed from the proximity, he didn't want to jump on her like a wolf in heat. Luna was clouded by his perfume she came even closer to him eliminating the distance, she had reached under his neck inhaling even more, she touched his neck with her lips, he growled with excitement, his skin burned under her lips. Luna woke up from her trans state, opened her eyes wide and pushed him away from her by throwing him to the ground, but not before he took her with him to the green lawn.  It seemed to her the beginning of one of those sex tapes that her grandfather watched without her knowledge, she traced back to this unpleasant discovery, rummaging under his bed a few years ago. Alexsander grabbed her by the hips and made her sit astride him - C.. What are you f.. Doing? - he approached her putting his head in the crook of her neck and locking it with his hand behind the back of his neck, he inhaled deeply - Strawberry smells - he said as he gave her a chaste kiss on the neck. She stiffened, feeling an electric shock all over her back, tried to free herself - What was it?! She asked worriedly, putting a hand on her neck. Hadn't she been branded without my knowledge? Is he going to die now? he asked his inner voice - A kiss? - he replied looking at her curiously, she called herself stupid at that moment. He grabbed her by the chin and forced her to look him in the eye - Is this new to you? - His gaze was a mixture of sadness and happiness. Luna didn't understand how important this was to him, and she couldn't stand the idea of being chained to him without his will. She shrugged her mind it was irrelevant to her - Good thing I came - she commented with a toothy smile - I'm still undecided - she gave life to her thoughts, something was changing - But not for long! - He held her close to him, dragging her back to the grass with him. Her legs, around his stomach and her arms around his neck, her head on his chest intent on listening to the rhythm of his heart, which becomes like a sweet lullaby, surrounded by an unusual warmth. It was a good moment, she admitted to herself, it was a new feeling, and it was from here that when she was starting to relax her mind took over the situation. He gave himself a mental slap in the face for the situation, there was a stranger, not quite a stranger, in the black forest. He wasn't supposed to be there, no one was supposed to cross the borders, because if someone found out he would conquer a territory without a herd - Was it you two days ago? - What do you mean? - he said, rising. - he also pulled himself up, holding on with his elbows - Orange and musk, don't play dumb I know it was you, I'm still a huntress, I know how to find my goals - he crossed his arms over his chest. He rolled his eyes - You can never be quiet with you, huh? - her gaze became more insistent - Yes, was I happy? - - And how did you come to the goal of crossing the boundaries of another herd? - he said in an accusatory tone - I followed the scent of my companion - defending himself - So you've been stalking me for two days - he got up and started to get his things - Hey what makes you think that!? - Huntress instinct - you lie, she couldn't tell him that she could smell her wolf with her sense of smell - Of course, of course not! You don't tell me the right girl at all - she turned to him with a raised eyebrow - We're in the black forest, do you think I don't know? Territory of the most mysterious pack in the world, and I don't see anyone here but you and me - she continued, Luna stiffened on the spot, she had to invent a plausible excuse to mislead him. - she turned to him - Haven't you already spied in the school records to know my life and death? And I guess you've seen who picked me up too, right? - I look him straight in the eye, both of them were still in their positions  - Of course, Jack Wood, one of the greatest hunters in the world, his fame precedes him from all things - he admitted, Luna carrying his backpack on her shoulders. Yes, an answer to my second question, but the first? Because there seems to be no one here - Luna sighed, inventing yet another bullshit of the day - It seems so to you, in truth they know that you are here for me. So they don't want to bother us, it's better that you leave before they start to heat up - I look at him trying to figure out if she had convinced him in any way, he seemed to change his expression but didn't move from there, not even when she was starting to take her first steps. What a hard head, he thought. I roll my eyes - Go home Alexander, see you tomorrow promised - she said turning around continuing to walk, he smiled, and to complete the work she sent us a flying kiss, howled with joy before transforming and being covered by a very dark brown coat. Luna froze for a moment, she had never seen anyone transform in front of her, especially a werewolf. She smiled at him as she completed the work, she was doing everything she could to convince him to leave, she only relaxed when she saw him disappear into the trees, and with her wolf hearing crossing the borders. She had never come that far in her life. He returned home hoping that the days ahead would be quieter.
