The Talk

What is up my dudes? Anyways, before the chapter continues just wanna say to my friend Shattered_Greenbean I really wanna message you back but my mom is going all protective on me and she doesn't like the idea of online friends. The only way to get her to be fine with it is to call or FaceTime which I feel bad because I don't wanna make you uncomfortable. And I know I should just text this to you but my mom will see that I texted you because I've showed her that you have texted me and such. Anyways, miss you! <3

Real quick and random but it was my birthday Sunday (1/26)! :) Yay, I'm 14 now.

~Percy's POV~

"Oh. My. Gods." Jason breathed out as his eyes went from Ryker to me and back and forth.

Erica looked at him, her face showing worry. "Hunny, are you okay?"

A look of disbelief was on Jason's face but his eyes showed how all this was clicking in his mind. "Uh, yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I just remembered that I forgot to help some of the younger demigods with Pegasus flying today. Babe, do you mind taking care of that for me so Perce and I can catch up?"

Erica looked at me, disgust flashing in her eyes for a second, and that back at Jason, lovingly. "Sure dear." She looked back at me. "It was nice to finally meet you, Percy." Erica said with a smile, that looked oh so fake.

She turned around and headed off to the stables. Jason looked to me. "Percy," he started, his voice on edge.

I cut him off before he could continue. "Jason, let's go somewhere more private than out in the open." He nodded in agreement and we made our way off to a path surrounded by trees.

Once in the clearing, there was a neighborhood of some sorts, people walking and talking happily. It was a sight to see, finally there was peace. I was taken away by the environment at how much it looked like any normal housing area except all the houses were cabins.

You would never guess that a bunch of demigods, satyrs, and nymphs lived here. I saw Leo in the front yard of more secluded home. Trees sat in front of the property.

He was out hanging a piece of wood with ropes on either side of it. Appearing to be a swing.

I approached Leo, Ryker at my side. "Leo, could you watch Ryker for a few minutes?"

Leo looked at me, and then behind me. He noticed Jason and understood. "Sure, no thing Perce." He grinned.

I looked down at Ryker. "Okay bud, you're gonna hangout with your new Uncle Leo for a little bit, okay? There's some business I have to take care of."

Ryker seemed to get the hint about what was going on. "Okay, Mom." And with that, Ryker made his way to Leo.

I headed back to Jason. "Okay, where to?" I asked.

"Just follow me." He said, and I hummed in response. I followed Jason through the field, trees dotted the landscape.

He turned to go into one of the cabins and I, of course, followed him inside. The cabin had a lot of plants on the outside. Flowers put next to the path leading to the door and trees and bushes giving privacy.

Jason opened the door and left it open for me. The inside of the cabin was very cozy. When you entered, there was two rooms on either side. On the left, there was a living room. A couch sat in front of a fireplace.

On the right, there was a small dining area and half walls seperating the kitchen from it. On the left from the kitchen there was a short hallway with two doors in it.

Jason and I, however, sat on the couch in the living room. We sat at a distance from each other, uncomfortable silence filling the room.

My hands sat in my lap, sweat making my palms moist. I finally tore my eyes away from my hands and looked up at Jason.

"Jay, you, uh, wanted to talk?" I said, knowing full well what he was going to say.

"Percy, you have a son, correct?" I nodded, yes. "H-how old is he?"

"12. He'll be 13 in February," I answered.

"Perce, now either you got with someone these past years, which wouldn't make sense because you said before that you'd been on an island. Or, Hera's blessing..."

He didn't finish his sentence. We both knew what he meant. "Jay,"

"So, he's mine. I have a son."

"Yeah,"

"When did you know? That you were expecting?"

"It was a week after we had made love. I took a test and I was on my way to tell you but that's when I saw you with Drew." I said, my voice getting weak at the end.

"Oh, Perce," Jason said, moving closer to me on the couch and bringing his arms around me. Wrapping me in a hug. " I'm so sorry. Don't worry Drew is still paying for that."

"You have nothing to apologise for, Jay." I said into his shirt, as my head was shoved into his chest from the hug. "It wasn't your fault at all. Drew is very skilled at charmspeak. It wasn't you."

"I've just felt guilty about it," he spoke. "I was the one that drove you off."

"Jay, I felt guilty. I ran away from camp and then stayed away even when I realized that Drew charmspoke you!" I muffled yelled.

"Wh-why would you stay away?" Jay ask, looking down at me in his arms. I looked up at him.

"I felt guilty, because I knew that I had hurt you. I-I hurt someone I loved, and I hurt you badly. I just, couldn't face what I had done." Tears pricked my eyes. "I wanted to come back, I really did. But,

I was too scared."

And just like that, I lost all air in my lungs as Jason squeezed the living daylights out of me.

It was strange, being in someone's arms again. But it felt so right, like I could finally stop holding my breath. But still wrong. Wrong because he had a girlfriend.

He had someone.

~Ryker's POV~

I remembered Uncle Leo from the stories mom use to tell me. He seemed like a pretty cool guy from them and he is really funny.

I helped Leo hang the swing, which I found out was for his daughter. After that, Leo took me into his cabin and showed me how to craft some things. While giving me the lessons, he also told me other stories about camp, my mom, and my dad.

"Uncle Leo, why did my mom leave? All I know is something happened between him and my dad, but what was it?" I asked, looking up from the craft project in front of me.

Uncle Leo paused. "I'm not sure I'm the right person to tell you that." I looked back down at the scraps of metal on the table. "Surprised Perce hasn't told you." I heard him mumble.

At that moment, Frank, I believe his name is, burst through the door. "Leo!" He yelled, his face twisted in panic.

Leo jumped up from his seat, immediately on guard. "Frank, what's wrong?"

"It's-it's Astrid," He breathed out. Leo's eyes widened, fright and disbelief showing on his expression.

"Ryker, come here." Uncle Leo said, motioning for me to come to him. I got up and stood beside him. He looked me in the eyes. "Stay close to me, don't need you getting in trouble. Now, you are Jay and Perce's son so that may be impossible, but still."

We left Leo's house, running through the neighborhood and all the way back to the Big House.

Leo opened the door and stood in the doorway, blocking my view. Frank stood behind me, but leaned forward and put a hand on Leo's shoulder.

"Astrid..."

Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been really sick which sucked because usually I write on the bus or at night. Anyways, love you all! <3
