Prologue

The prince stood beside his royal guards, holding a sword defensively. They stared at a figure of a man, his silhouette showing a bloody smiling face, with a darker shadow behind him. A behemoth like figure stomped out the blue water-like wall.

The portal. It was open. The seal was shattered... and...

He did it.

No. No, no, no,no... this... Him!?

How could he have done this?! They were family, these people that stood by his side were family! How could he have done this to them all?!

The prince felt a surge of heat loom around him. This has gone too far.

The prince gritted his teeth.'You idiot!' His mind bellowed in fury.'This insolence has gone far too much!'

The figure behind the silhouette emitted strong wind, forcing the prince and his men to keep still. Otherwise they would have flown off across the room.

A low chuckle, loud enough to be heard, emerged from the silhouette.

"Brother... thank you for showing me this..."

The figure, even as a shadow, could be properly seen turning around to look at the tall gateway behind him, emitting a red glow.

"You traitor! You mongrel! You bas... How could you do this?!"

The man silently stood there. The red smile remained.

"Why fear when you can... learn?"

The prince gripped his blade tighter. He won't let this man get away. No!

The wind slowly faded away, and a large diamond like red glow emitted from the massive figure behind the silhouette. He smiled as well.

"There is no point in resistance!" The howling growl of the figure moved closer."Your world has been sold for knowledge..."

Archibald, hearing this, suddenly felt angrier.

That was it?! He, the most brilliant of all minds he knew, sold humanity to learn about demons? False gods? He sold his life to the devil for this?!

What in the hell was he thinking of!?

"Archibald Quinn of Edohor, you foresee the upcoming future." The demon had begun to step closer."Show mercy on your people... and subdue to the might of fear, or perish and be tortured in our haven!"

A loud growl emitted from the demon, and a crack emerged from beneath their feet. It opened and swallowed the guards beside him, screaming as they plunge into their unstable and sudden graves.

The ground beneath him broke down, and he fell into a pit of never ending darkness, the laugh of both the silhouette and the demon cackling in sync.

***

Then he woke up.

The prince panted as he suddenly stood upright in his dim room, sweating from his blond hair down to his throat. He took as deep breath and exhaled a few times.

It was all just a dream... just a dream, just a dream...

But he feared it may not be.

He silently left the comfort of his bed and stepped out in his sleeping garments.

Opening the door to the halls outside, he was greeted by two soldiers.

"My lord!" One of them bellowed and they both bowed to a man wearing some hideous clothing he wishes no one else must see.

"Is there any way we may be of service to..."

"You two, get the other guards to seal off the portal." He pointed to the right, where the portal was located. He began to sweat some more just at the thought of the portal.

"Sire, we do not--"

"Jus seal off the blasted entrance!" He shut the door at the two's faces in terror. No... this can't be...

He can no longer be sure. He must've spent a little too much time near that portal, he thought to himslef, at a failed attempt to calm himself down of the horrors his mind had created.

He just anxious... this can't be possible.

...

Right?
