Saki POV:
I didn't look back, I just kept running and running with Maria in my arms hoping there was a slight chance she was alive.
"Please, please," I whisper. "Please don't leave me."
"I am fine young one..." (tis' but a flesh wound). My eyes widen as I look around.
"Down here... "
I look down all I see is Maria. "You're ok... thank goodness."
"Of course, milady."
"That's good... " My words trail off as I pause for a moment and look at Maria who was looking up at me.
"Huuuuuuuuuuuuuh!!!!!!!" I yell, starting to freak out. "A talking dog!!!" You start rambling. "I must be going insane that must be it there can't be a talking dog in front of me, that's impossible!!!" (A/N: You have no idea what's possible.)
"Please calm down milady," Maria replies, slightly annoyed at my freak out. When I start hyperventilating, she gives up and starts introducing herself. "I guess I should introduce myself. I am- well... I was never given a name so I shall go with the name you gave me, Maria. I am a being of great power that was assigned to watch over you."
I must be going crazy. (Well, Saku-chan and the other kids at the academy already knew that, but that's beside the point.) "Is it because of my 'abilities'?" I question. Maria nods.
"Yes. I came to help you harness your power, become stronger, and to be a helpful companion." Maria smiles. "Oh" then the realization of what happened earlier hits me like a rock "OH GOD WHAT AM I GOING TO DO!!!!!" I cry out. "I killed people so that means I can't go back to the village otherwise they will try to kill me. I'll die either way I'm 5 I don't know how to fend for myself I can't I shouldn't have I I...." I fall to my knees and start to cry "If I just..." "it wasn't your fault milady now's not the time to cry we should be looking for a new home for you" Maria says in an attempt to cheer me up I look down at her and sigh. "i guess so" "so where to milady?" "umm can you just call me Saki and I heard of the hidden sand village maybe we could go there." I reply "alright then let's go Saki-sama" I chuckle at her response "close enough.. Wait .... How do we get to the hidden sand village?" Maria sits up and walks away "don't worry Saki-sama I've visited the Hidden Sand village before I know the way"  I sigh in relief "then lets go" I follow Maria down the dirt path

Many days later... (because of course it would take days)

We come up to a large wall of sandrock with a narrow path in between it "This must be the way in and out of the village" I mumble to myself Maria nods Suddenly three ninja appear in front of us making me jump "Who are you and why are going into this village?" they look around "Wait are you alone?" I nod I pick up Maria and nod "yes I know for a fact I can't go back home" I look down sadly the three ninja sigh before one of the ninjas steps forward. "come with me I'll will take you to the Kazekage" the ninja takes my arm pulling me inside the narrow path while the other two stay back to keep watch.

At the Kazekage's office...

The ninja knocks on the door "what is it I'm busy" a voice snaps "We found a kid with a dog outside the village" the voice sighs before allowing us to come in. I look in to see a man with dull red hair and brown eyes

talking to another man with dirt blonde hair and greyish purple eyes.

"Why hello there" the blond man says with a warm smile on his face "We found her and the pup outside the village says she's all alone and can't go back to her village" the ninja says to the two men "Is this true" the red haired man said looking down at me "he senses your large amount of chakra." Maria says "oh" I mumble so nobody could really hear. Realizing I haven't answered this man's question "oh sorry yes yes I am" the blonde man looks down at me in pity "I'll take her then Gaara can have a friend my name is Yashamaru its nice to meet you" I smile 'I've never seen someone smile at me so kindly before' I thought "I'm Saki Hurano its a pleasure to meet you Yashamaru-san"
