The Glen
Grace plummeted down into the cold water. Its harsh and bitter sting of cold ripples through her broken body and hit her like a ten tonne truck. The roaring rushing sound of the river now ensconced her in a cold, heartless grip. She struggled with all her might to keep her frail body above the water and failed miserably. She twisted and turned in the vicious current, scraping against rocks and boulders as she went further and further down the river.
Behind her she heard the deathening howl of the creature that was following her, it had jumped in the river behind her but had far less of a safe landing than her. It had hit a boulder at full force and been ripped in two, guts and blood spilling down the river, staining everything with a deep red and black inky substance that looked like thick tar. Its body writhed and contorted in pain, as it dribbled down the river towards her.
In an attempt to get away from the gunk that was slowly dribbling its way towards her, she tried with all her might to swim down the river but her frail body couldn't handle it and she began to feel her eyes close as she began to struggle with her breathing. She began to fall deeper and deeper into sleep, as the cold waters engulfed her in its tight, cold grip.
Everything silently went black...
