Chapter 21: Together
Annie got up with difficulty, she had remained a month in a coma, and had rehabilitation courses to walk and rework her muscles. Armin's mother smiled and went to the kitchen to leave them alone, she pulled her husband who did not seem to want to move. The teenager quickly turned to Annie, encircled her with his arms while squeezing gently against him, leaving a few tears running down her cheeks. Annie hesitated before putting her arms in her back. They then went upstairs to the room that the blond's mother had prepared for her. Honestly, she had told him that it was changing in his room ... Sitting on the bed, they had discussed a little bit, but not what had happened, Armin had told her that she would tell him that when she is ready. They talked for long hours, Annie revealed to him to have seen a kind of tunnel before waking up, Armin had already heard this in a report on the coma. This famous tunnel ... She said it was black but at the end, was a light, an attractive light. She had walked towards that bright light and had arrived at her favorite place, a quiet lakeside spot where she had met ... her mother. She could not believe it because she was dead, but she had been there, right in front of her, smiling at him. She had told him that it was not her fault, it had never been, and she did not blame him. That people who were holding her, waiting for her return, and mentioned the name "Armin", which was a trigger for Annie. No idea how his mother knew about them, but she told him, she was watching her from where she was and she had never abandoned him. Annie remembered that her mother had hugged her and hugged her tightly, giving her all her love, then whispered, "It's time to wake up, Annie." And that was where the teenager had taken the rainy tunnel under her mother's protective gaze, and she had woken up on her hospital bed, with Armin's parents waiting by her side.
Armin had not said anything during Annie's incredible speech, not wanting to cut him off. He had been sitting in front of her, listening to him for hours. Annie was silent for a moment, staring down before she could feel a hand lift her chin, directing it in Armin's eyes, smiling at him. This smile had missed ... Her hand rested on her cheek, to keep the visual contact with her, the blonde put his on the one on his face.
The days passed and Annie had re-entered walking and had resumed classes, but unfortunately was very late, Armin was there to help. All the students looked at her with pity, and that was the hardest thing to bear. But she was now well surrounded, she had people to count on. Annie had found the courage to talk with Armin of the events, she had refused to see a psychologist, she did not want to reveal his whole life to a stranger. Armin listened without interrupting, lying on the bed side by side, they talked for long hours, both locked in their world. Nobody came to bother them, to spoil their moments, their crazy laughs, there was only them. The blonde turned her head to the side as she continued to speak with a bright smile. Watching him, he could not help but smile at seeing her like that, happy.
Unfortunately, these nightmares will always haunt Annie's mind, she will wake up often during the night sweat like every time, and each time, Armin arrived in his room more than worried. He came every time to lie beside her and take her in his arms before falling asleep in the heat of the other.
To change his mind, he took her to the lake during the weekend. It was very similar to that written by the blonde during her coma. They watched in silence the landscape, the silence ... The birds chirped, the grass moved because of the gentle wind, the water ran, some fish passed in front of the two blond, which had soaked their feet. It was warm, perfect for bathing in reality, moreover it was hot. It was the summer holidays ...
- It's nice to smile Armin looking at Annie.
- Yes whispered the blonde looking at their reflection in the water.
- Perfect for swimming!
- What... Hey!
Armin grabbed the blonde, tossing her over her shoulders and running into the water, throwing herself with her prisoner. Annie climbed to the surface and shook her head before Armin reappeared in front of her, sneering. She put her head under the water, growling, and let go so that he could get some air. She swam towards him and wrapped her arms around her neck to keep her head out of the water. Her clothes stuck to her skin, and she just hoped they were not transparent ...
- It's okay ? asked Armin, looking at her.
- Yes she smiled, releasing a little wet fringe blond.
They observed each other without a word, just their eyes communicated. The blonde leaned shyly at Armin's face and put his lips to hers. He answered directly as if he had been waiting for centuries. Annie could feel her friend's lips, stretch in a smile against hers, and she could not help but do the same thing.
