1st Part
It was about midnight when I suddenly woke. I had a terrible feeling of emptiness, and for a moment I sat there speechless, with no single moving. I was to rejoin my sleep again when that feeling came across me again. After all, what would be the matter if I go have a look around then come back? I went out, my hands shaking and my knees trembling, no reason why....?
Once my eyes fell on the empty, dead silent field, I felt my heart break. For a second, I stood there watching the burning woods in front of me, something at the back of my mind telling not to scream. What a silly idea! Why the bloody hell do they always choose to play this sort of annoying games?! But hang on, was it a game....?
-"There, " I shouted. "I'm not in mood for playing games right now. Get out, wherever you are...."
But no response. The only voice I could hear was my own, it's echo coming back from far away.
Still, I stood waiting for some answer. To be fair, wishing for it. I went back inside then came out again with a small lamp in my hand.
-"I won't go far, " I told myself. "Whether I find them soon or they come out on their own. Otherwise, I'll wait till the morning to teach them how to play more politely."
Though, deep down, something was telling me that this wasn't what was going to happen. Things don't always go the way we want them to.
My steps were very close that I could hardly see if I was moving any further, but I soon was far enough that the flames in the camp I just left behind seemed to me as a little star. I took a deep breath and turned again to my unknown direction. It was at that moment that I heard a slight noise nearby. My heart skipped a beat.
-"Anyone there? " I murmured. "I'm full with playing games. Get me out of here. "
Again, no response. My fears grew bigger, but with them grew the noise. I wasn't quite sure, whether this was some sort of warning, or my friends' criminal intentions were much worse than I thought. But, with no more thinking, I quickly got behind the nearest and biggest tree around, and hid well, trying to catch my breath.
The noise faded away. Half an hour passed, and nothing, absolutely nothing, was heard or seen. God help me. Until now I cannot tell if it was real or not, but I felt a cold hand around my neck from behind, before I violently turned around.
-"You will regret your coming here..."
Were the last words I heard before I fell unconscious.....
