Faba rubbed his eyes and yawned. He was working overnight again in his office again when a knock came to his door.

"What does someone want at this hour...." He grumbled, tossing his pen down and getting up from his chair. At the door was Lusamine.

"Oh Ms. President what are you doing up at this hour?" He spoke to her as he went to retrieve his coffee cup with a freshly brewed cup in it.

"One of the Employees informed me Alphys needs to see us."

"And why is is that?" Faba sipped his coffee.

"It seems that our test subjects have woken up."

Faba nearly spit out his coffee, forcing it to stay down with a swallow. He hadn't expected news like this.

"I will meet you there Miss President." Faba told her as Lusamine left. He fumbled around for his clipboard before leaving his office.

The lab was filled with the chatter of the now awake subjects. Some of whom were already standing up much to the displeasure of Alphys.

"Mr. Holiday you need to lay back down. Y-You just woke up." She spoke in a firm tone to the reindeer monster.

"It's fine Doc! I'm just getting up to stretch, that's all." Rudy chuckled before sitting back down on the table "I'm kind of sad I wasn't able to see Noelle off on her Journey before I fell down. She just needs to know that her daddy is proud of her."

Their attention was directed to Lusamine and Faba as they entered the room.

"Oh, P-President Lusamine, Faba, s-sorry for waking you."

"I was still up working on paperwork, can't really say what the Pres was up to. So back to the subjects, when did they.... start to wake up?"

"I-I'm not sure. I came to check on them when a beaker fell off the shelf. So I pick it up and that when they started to wake up, one by one."

Lusamine nodded and turned towards Rudy "So Mr. Holiday, how are you feeling?"

He smiled and looked at the President "Better than I had been from when I was in the hospital."

"Well that is good to hear." Lusamine cleared her throat, getting the attention of the monsters in the room. "We did promise to send your dust back to your families once you passed for the funerals, but it seems like that won't be happening. Now that everyone is awake, we would like to keep you here for a few days just to observation before we send you back. Don't worry, we'll get into contact with them and allow you to speak with them." She announced.

Faba looked taken aback.

"But Miss President, we're not going to run tests on them? You said we would start once something of interest happened." He spoke in a whisper, turning Lusamine away to speak in private.

"Yes I did. Unfortunately, this was not the result I was hoping for. I was hoping they would turn to dust so we could successfully extract their souls and since I promised their families, I'll be having them sent home. Besides they wouldn't be too happy if our subjects were sent back all harmed and bruised would they?" Lusamine's voice had a bit of malice in it.

"Err, fine...." Faba grumbled as Lusamine turned back to everyone.

"For the next two days I want everyone to remain in the lab. After that time frame is up, you are free to wander the Paradise as you please. Please understand you will not be allowed in certain off limits areas. We will provide you with a washroom and food. This sector's breakroom will be open if you want to watch TV or browse the Internet. Is that understood?"

"Yes ma'am"

"Now if you will excuse us." Alphys spoke up "We should should be going back to bed. Some of the Employees will check up on you in mourning. G-Good Night everybody.".

Flicking the off lights, they exited the room. Many of the monsters had gone back to sleep as Lusamine, Faba, and Alphys went their separate ways.

Entry #4

All of the subjects are awake. The President has agreed to return them to their families when we deem them ready.

For now they will be staying in the lab until everyone feels well enough to be walking around.
