Three.

He stepped out of the shower and dressed in his best clothes, the ones he'd gotten from the tailor the day before. He made sure he cleaned up well and put on the new deodorant. It was his farewell that day, which meant her grade was hosting it and she would be there! And that means he could have a few more moments with her, and that would be everything.

The van came to his home, but she wasn't there. He knew it. The hosts had to be there an hour before. Irrespective of whether the farewell was good or not, it didn't matter.

The van moved crankily across houses of all sizes and colors. The pale morning sunlight was visibly stronger now, and it fell on his skin from the window. People piled in, in their best clothes, but he was excited for the day, and kept a poker face, with a hint of a smile.

They reached the venue and he took a deep breath before opening the huge double doors. He pushed them and for a minute, he was blinded. The bright light blinded his eyes and he blinked a few times to understand what was happening. The room was in utter chaos. Teachers and students were trying to push them out of the room and he didn't want to, until he heard something very familiar.

Her laugh.

His eyes searched the room despite being pushed behind and there she was, laughing with her friend over something in the phone. And she turned her head upwards and saw him.

Red lips.

She wore a black dress, the red lipstick highlighting her whole look. She looked gorgeous, and the red lipstick only made her face appear brighter, and pretty soon, her cheeks were almost the color of her lips. She turned away quickly, biting her lip.

Fuck it, he thought. She was way too amazing today. He was distracted when the teachers scolded them for coming early and ushered them outside.

The programme started half an hour later, and he'd already made two trips to the only washroom, which was inside, only for her. She never noticed him though. She was busy reading some boring script that both of them knew no one would be paying attention to. The program started and he found out she was the anchor for the show. He couldn't concentrate on the script; his friends were distracting him with a need of selfies. He put on his best smile, hoping that she'll notice him. During the games, he stood as close to her as possible, even though he had to be constantly moving, as per the bloody rules.

The dance performances were great. There was a sexy dance, to which the guys hooted and drooled, to which the teachers kept a disgusted expression, but he found the dance great. Not in a bad way, just that it was too hard to dance like that. He knew he couldn't.

Lunch soon rolled by, thank god it did. He was starving and there was good food. He decked up his plate with all the gorgeous food, careful not to overload it, because if she would see it, he'd be screwed. As if his chances with her weren't already less.

He sat in his seat, carefully glancing around the room, not wanting to be caught by anyone looking at her. He was so smitten by her. He couldn't find her, no he just couldn't. He ate his lunch in vain, even though his friends came and cracked the lamest jokes ever.

He didn't realize that she was on the other side of the pillar, searching for him as he was searching for her.
