| Chapter 2: Love at Second Sight. |

Flashes of our bodies intertwining, our lips clashing and the amazing relief that kept following each of those encounters. I frowned down at my shot of whiskey as guilt began to swallow my mind with the fact that all of those flashes, all of that pleasure didn't come from Dani.

Jessica was her name.

Dani flashed through my mind as the guilt seemed to settle in my bones:

"Hello?" Came her voice, making my heart flutter so much that I kicked myself off my the wall that stood behind the soda machine. I smiled at her voice, realizing I was right about her being here, back tracking and all.

"Dani!" My voice chimed before I could manage a decent start to a conversation.

"D-Dean?" She stuttered, seemingly excited as I began to make my way around the perimeter of the hotel rooms. Although the front desk wouldn't tell me what room she was in, all I had to do was listen for her voice - which came clearly to me due to the lack of residents in the other rooms.

"Dani, where are you?" I asked, moving through the walkway, hearing some ruffling on the other end of the phone as she was apparently attempting to move around.

"Dean, can you hear me?" She almost shouted, almost immediately causing me to hear white noise of static on the other end.
I kept walking, hearing the ruffling continue on her end as she finally stated, "Hold on..."

I grinned hearing the slight echo of 'hold on' and knew I was at the right place and the right door. I watched as she pulled the door open to come face to face with me.

We both stood, star struck and still holding the phone to our ears.

"...what if I'm tired of waiting?" My voice came out, so sure and so confident as I stepped into the hotel room, without breaking eye contact with her and slowly pushed the door shut behind me, and locked it. The air left my lungs, as I slid my phone off my ear, and clapped it shut only to do the same for her with her phone.

I moved from the door, slowly pulling off my jacket - still not breaking eye contact.

I moved from the door towards her, causing her to step back, causing the back of her knees hit the bed causing her to look down, only for me to immediately to take her chin and raise her gaze back up to mine.

I felt my jaw clenched as I obviously and willingly allowed my eyes to venture down her body, studying every curve, every feature. I slowly took her face in my hands, brushing some hair out of her face as started to lean in.

I closed my eyes as felt our lips caress each other, and it didn't take long until the gentle kiss turned hard, deep, sweaty and passionate.

The night was a blur.

A sweaty, satisfying igniting night of my life. Our bodies were so twisted into each other that the world blurred out of focus around us. Allowing us to remain in our own world full of ourselves and this heat that I had knew was present, but didn't realize how strong it actually was until I gave in to this. Between the steam lingering between us, our silent passion deafening each other thorugh the moans, screams and kisses.

Our quivering bodies finally came to a stopping point, my left arm wrapped around her bare hot-to-the-touch body as she laid on my bare chest. I found myself struggling to catch my breath, but smiled up at the popcorn ceiling as flashes of what just happened kept replaying through my mind.

There was no talking for a few minutes, and the silence was amazing.

She laid there.

I laid there, lost in my head as I smiled at her sighing and relaxing next to me. I took her chin, pulling her up on her elbow and kissing her again, deepening it immediately as that familiar heat ensued and engulfed us again.

I frowned down at my shot glass, shaking the glass and watching the alcohol swirl around.

"What's got you so down sexy?" Asked the bartender, refilling the shot glass.

I didn't answer, just watched her refill my glass. When she realized she wasn't getting anything out of me, with a small frown, she walked away to attend to other customers. I watched her walk away, glaring at her rear end and rolling my eyes as I spun in my bar stool to look away.

Nothing brings me as much joy as Dani did.

Nothing.

No one.

Zip.

I began to scan the bar, quietly, sipping on my shot glass when I saw her.

There she was, leaning over a Pool table, flipping her - now short - blonde hair, flashing that familiar smile and allowing her eyes to sparkle in the lower hanging light as she pushed her pool queue into the white ball and grinned when her striped ball fell into the pocket.

I stopped sipping on my shot glass as I took in her outfit, how it complimented her ass, her curves, her legs and when she turned around for a split second, even her breasts.

Not that she didn't know how to dress before, but she figured out a way to highlight her features in a different way now.

I felt a mixture of emotions hit me all at once, like a brick wall, as I watched her interact with someone I couldn't even focus on enough to tell if it was a male, female, biker, monkey - whatever, she was my focus. Although I hadn't seen her in over a year, I knew exactly who I was looking at.

Who I was starstruck by.

I was back and forth in my head on whether to approach her, considering she had been gone for over a year, maybe she didn't want to be found? That's another aspect I kept going back and forth on, she disappeared from the hospital and now here she is, carrying on as if she wasn't kidnapped...forcefully taken or whatever may have happened.

I swallowed hard as my eyes caught something shiny on her left hand, and my heart melted at the sight of the Promise Ring. She still had it, she was still wearing it.

Was that a sign she was thinking of me?

Was that a sign that she was still with me?

With that last thought, a wave of guilt and fear that I'd never felt before washed over me as Jessica's body flashed through my head, her hair, her smile, her curves - none of it was right.

I wasn't right.

I looked up from the hardwood floor of the bar and took in Dani's knee high boots now. They weren't high-heel, but they weren't flat either - just the way she preferred them. I grinned at the black shiny leather material the boots were made of and smiled at the tiny bulge on her right ankle.

Her knife.

She was always strapping some sort of defensive weapon.

I kept going back and forth in my head of whether to approach, whether she wanted to found, whether she still felt anything for me after all his time, whether I should just pay my tab and return to Jessica - but before I could make any decision, she flipped her hair out of her in a way that made her eyes collide with mine.

My heart started beating so hard it moved into my throat as, without breaking eye contact, she told whoever she was with to excuse her - and carried our gaze like a prized possession as she approached me slowly, only for me to turn around and face the bar, in an attempt to catch my breath.

It - again - was like all the air in the room had shot out the minute I saw her. This didn't discourage her, however, as she dropped down into the barstool beside me and waved over the bartender for a beer.

"Hey stranger, long time no see." She sighed, clinking her beer glass with my shot glass and downing half of it. "How've you been -?"
