| Chapter 16: Save a Life, Love a Heart. |
"You will NOT fuck with him anymore." I shouted, watching Dean's eyes flutter shut, and my rage shifted from Dean to the very dust covered and bloody Nick that stood rooms away at this point.
"What will you do? Kill me?" He giggled, stepping over the bottom of the walls that weren't damaged in the initial blow of his own body.
"I can't do that, we both know that." I smirked, clenching my fists. "But I can banish you."
"No you can't," Nick hissed as Sam appeared to my right, feet from Dean's unconscious body. Sierra and Bobby's figures stumbled into view to my left, rubbing their heads as they realized who was standing in the rubble. "Only Angels can do that, we both know that -?"
"Think again." Chimed Castiel, appearing beside Nick, snatching him up by his jacket and carrying him towards me.
I smirked at the sound of wings flapping that echoed from behind me.
"How the fuck -?" Started Nick, as Castiel threw him forward to my feet like a bag of trash. Nick's eyes were full of disbelief as he took in my wings.
"Cas," I smirked, looking up from Nick for a second. "Get them out of here."
Castiel nodded, glaring down at Nick and picked up Dean, bridal style and led the way for the rest as I glared down at Nick.
"How did you...?' Nick whimpered, eyeing my grey wings. "Why are they grey?"
"I made a deal." I smirked, utilizing my abilities to make him levitate and focused most of my influence on his throat, causing him to slowly rise and struggle to breathe. "Now, I'll ask you one time."
Nick glared down from his level of levitation.
"Where is Azazel?"
*
"Dani?!" Gasped Dean, jolting me from my chair from across the room as I flung myself as fast as I could muster to be by his bedside.
"Dean." I chimed, lightly. "Here." I passed him some water as he took it, he took in my bloodied knuckles.
"Dani..." He started, but I pressed my finger against his lips.
"Shhh, don't you dare worry about anything else, other than getting better." I whispered, pressing my lips against his forehead, only for him to take my chin and lift his head so our lips were pressed firmly against each other.
There's that heat.
The fire.
The love I couldn't ignore.
I pulled away as my blue eyes flickered into his green ones.
"I love you, Dean." I whispered, kissing his cheek. "I'll be back."
*
"No, wait...DANI!" I shouted, jolting upright in my bed, causing Bobby's head to pop up from my bedside. "Where is she? We have to stop her..."
"Kill the motor dude." Came Sam's voice from my left as he gently pushing me back into the cushion of my bed.
"Where is she?" I demanded, trying to push passed Sam's grip, but it was no use, I was way too weak.
"She..." Sam hesitated, looking at Bobby.
"... Dani is taking care of Azazel." Bobby stated, gently but hesitantly.
"Alone?!" I gasped, attempting to jolt upright again, but Sam kept me leveled.
"She's not alone." Sam stated, patting my shoulder. "She just has terms needs to fulfill."
"What about Nick?" I asked, adjusting the pillows so I could sit up, but not fully.
"Dani banished him." Bobby answered.
"But how -?" I started, but Sam interjected.
"- she said she'll fill us in when she gets back, she insisted we stay – Cas went with her." Sam filled in more blanks as I felt my breathing level out. "Water?"
I nodded, sipping on the glass that was passed to me.
"Guys, can I have a minute?" Asked a voice from the doorway, the three of us looked over to see Sierra, hesitantly, entering the room.
Bobby and Sam hesitated but rose from the chairs they were seated in and exited the room with Sierra pushing the door shut behind them. She quietly made her way over to the chair Bobby had occupied and sighed heavily as she dropped into the seat.
"We need to talk." She spoke quietly and her voice quivered.
"Sierra," I sighed, running my hands through my hair roughly and growled under my breath. "We can't do this."
"Dean..." She whimpered, avoiding my eyes. "...I know you and I didn't mean anything, and I'm not entirely sure why we hooked up in the first place –"
"- Pity, boredom, we were horny." I trialed off. "It wasn't all you, so please, don't take all of that on –"
"- Dean, I think I'm pregnant." She dropped as my eyes went wide and all the color drained out of my face.
*
"This should be the place," Castiel spoke from the passenger seat as we pulled to a stop outside a familiar spot. The spot where Sierra was taken, where Nick's secret was revealed, where the ware-pack we had made amends with used to linger. "He knows we're here..."
Castiel and I exchanged looks as we both rose out of the challenger and stopped short at the front of the car.
"How do you want to do this?" Castiel asked, quietly.
I shifted my weight from one leg to another and moved to the trunk, grabbing every single gun, knife and spell bag I could find, strapping what I could before placing my jacket on, shoving the spell bags into every pocket I could find that could hold them.
Castiel grinned as I tossed him some weapons too and we both moved back to the front of the car as I slammed the trunk shut.
"Cas, before we go in here..." I sighed, adjusting some of my straps and looking at him. "... I made a deal with Lucifer –"
"- aware." He nodded, with a small frown.
"- if shit goes sideways –" I started as he interjected again.
"- I'll take care of Dean." He smiled, but then leaned in a little. "But I don't think anything will go sideways –"
"- it's the fucking Devil Cas..." I smirked, earning a giggle from him.
"... you seem to forget someone else is watching." He raised his eyebrows and we both looked up into the night sky.
"He has a hell of way of showing it." I shot, as Castiel frowned, but nodded. "Just...please, promise me you'll take care of him if I don't make it out of this."
"You have my word." Castiel spoke as we both nodded and moved in the building.
The familiar shadows lingered in every corner, in every window, in every blood stain. I frowned around the house as we both paused at the sudden sound of shifting at a distant corner of the building.
"He's here." I whispered, as Castiel moved out of the room and we both began to sweep the house slowly.
"You came fast." Came a cold voice as I stepped into the kitchen area in the back of the house. I peered through the dark, attempting to adjust my vision, "Welcome Dani...are you hungry?"
"No." I spoke short and cold.
"What about Castiel?" He asked, as I felt my right eye twitch in annoyance at his awareness. "I heard you banished Nick, successfully...after he ratted on me."
"Yep. He was easy to break." I stated, moving across the kitchen and standing across the island from him.
"How did you manage to convince the Big Bad to give you that ability?" Azazel asked, as he began cutting into a steak that might as well had been mooing still, and slid some meat into his mouth.
"That's none of your concern." I smirked, standing firm. "All you need to be concerned about is how I can do the same to you."
"Can you?" He chuckled, sliding another piece of meat into his mouth. "I'm sure you can, if you believe hard enough."
I remained silent, glaring at him.
"What?" He caught my stare. "Are you allowing me to finish my last dinner?"
"Yes." I heavily, moving to a table that stood adjacent to the island and dropping into a chair, quietly. "I am, actually."
"I can see what Dean see's in you, you know." He chuckled, amused. "It's fucking adorable when you think you have that much power."
"It's adorable how your hunk you'll get away this time." I hissed, crossing my arms.
Azazel glared over his, almost empty, plate.
"Let me guess," He sighed, sipping on whatever the hell was in his cup. "They told you that there was a deal, I followed my orders – except I kept your Angelic blood and you're here to retrieve me in exchange for your soul, therefore your memory?"
I remained quiet, studying him.
"You do realize they were the ones that wanted your Angelic blood to begin with, right?" He asked, attempting to chew and swallow as he spoke, "I just kept it because, well. – that's my business – but they got what they wanted...the potential angelic daughter isn't angelic anymore...I don't understand what the big deal is."
"The big deal is," I cleared my throat, leaning onto the table, and glanced behind Azazel to see Castiel's silhouette in the corridor behind him. "I want control of my own life, my on fate and my own destiny...and hell hath no fury than a woman scorned."
"It's not like we violated you, Dani –" started Azazel.
"- That's where you're wrong." Smirked Castiel, shoving a blade through Azazel's back as hard as he could, catching Azazel off guard as he gasped at the sudden penetration. The angelic sword remained as Castiel stepped around him and I rose from the table to meet the both of them on that side of the island.
"That was easy." I smirked as Castiel shrugged as we both struggled against Azazel to drag him from the building and tossed him back into my backseat. "Back to Vegas?"
Castiel shook his head and corrected me, "Crossroads."
I nodded, as we peeled out of the deserted parking lot as Azazel whimpered every now and then on the way to the isolated crossroads where all of this started.
As we pulled up, and I slid the car into gear, there were five figures standing there, waiting.
Lilith, Lucifer, Raphael, Micheal and a fifth figure I didn't recognize.
With hesitation, Castiel and I rose form the car and pulled Azazel, roughly, out from the backseat and dragged him (literally) to Lucifer's feet.
The figure that I didn't recognize waved his hand and the angelic sword disappeared and Azazel rose to his feet, only for Lilith to snatch him by the collar with a small grin towards me.
I just remained stone-faced.
Lucifer kneed Azazel in the stomach and frisked him, only to toss the tube of golden light to Raphael before turning back to me. He smiled, snapped his fingers, and in a sudden movement, I levitated and felt a rip on my back before he and Lilith disappeared.
"God..." I whimpered, landing on the ground, with Castiel immediately pulling me to my feet with a frown. "...ugh." I could feel the pain shooting up and down my back, my spine and felt my shirt getting wet with blood as it soaked through.
"He ripped your wings off." Frowned Castiel to himself as I looked up at the three remaining figures.
"Danielle." Came this voice of the third figure, as he stepped forward, passed Micheal and Raphael. "You've done well."
My eyes struggled to stay open as I looked up at this individual.
"I can't give you this back," He stated, glancing back at Raphael as he squatted down to my level as I dropped to my knees. "But I can do this."
He snapped his fingers and everything went – white.
