| Chapter 14: Another Path. |
I glared through the windshield, feeling the rage shooting through my veins as the empty crossroads just stared back at me.
"What the fuck?" I growled, slapping the steer wheel, only to jolt at the sound of a voice to my right.
"He wouldn't have helped you anyway."
"Holy Shit!" I screamed, clutching my chest as turned to come face to face with Castiel. "What the hell are you doing?"
"I came to help." He stated, with an emotionless expression. He hesitated as I stared at him and I watched him struggle to smile. "I'm working on my humanoid mannerisms still, my apologizes."
"I can tell..." I exhaled sharply, catching my breath. "...keep practicing."
Castiel just nodded as I smiled at him.
"I'm surprised you're not with Dean." I hissed, snarling at the thought of him.
"He's..." Castiel trialed off, beaming through he windshield. "...preoccupied."
"Yeah, with Sierra." I muttered as Castiel frowned over at me.
"He hurt you." He stated, as my eyes slid from my sterling wheel and landed on his sympathetic ones. "I'm not going to defend him, that's not what I'm here to do."
I rose both of my eyebrows, crossing my arms.
"A little birdy told me that you were looking for ways to get your soul back..." He said softly, moving his eyes from mine and back out the windshield. "...you're not going to get anywhere with Azazel or Nick."
"I realized that." I answered, not removing my gaze from him. "What birdy are we talking about?"
"A birdy." Castiel casually shut down my question as he pushed on. "Listen, if you want my advice - get your soul back, don't go for wings."
"Why not?" I asked, curious, following his gaze - finally - back out the windshield.
"Dani, you've scarified so much for so little..." Castile spoke and began to unbutton his trench coat. "...I wouldn't want you to get mixed up with the management upstairs."
"Why not?" I shrugged, knowing that it wasn't the original goal to begin with, but the fact Castiel was trying to convince me otherwise, made me curious as to why. "You work with them."
"And it's not all sunshine and white clouds." He barked, sliding his way out of his trench coat and gently placing it in my backseat. "Angels aren't as laid back as you would think."
"Who would think?" I giggled sarcastically, earning a grin from Castiel. "What do you have in mind?"
"We need to go see Sky Daddy." Casitel stated with a straight face, earning a giggle from me.
"God?" I almost mocked, as Castiel shot me a small smile as he shook his head.
"No, Raphael." He corrected as I nodded as we both turned our attention to the windshield and I brought my Challenger back to life and we pulled out of the crossroads, with Castiel on navigations.
He navigated me down the highway, with barley a word, but after a while he finally spoke up about a topic I wasn't too keen on, Dean.
"You know he loves you." He stated, out of context.
No build up.
No pre-conversation.
Not even a glance in my direction as I drove.
"Wh-What?" I stuttered, looking over at him. "Could have fooled me."
"He did." Castiel nodded, glancing at me now and then catching my sarcasm and frowned, "My apologizes."
"You're fine Cas." I sighed, shaking my head at the road. "He just..."
"... hurt your feelings." He frowned.
"Lack of better terminology." I nodded, without glancing in his direction.
"Listen," Casitel sighed, adjusting his seatbelt as he spoke. "People make mistakes, huge mistakes - and some of those mistakes can't be taken back, worked through or undone..."
I glanced at him, concerned at where he was going with this, and when he caught my face, he pushed on.
"...but one thing I know for certain, Dani," He paused, watching a semi truck going by the window as I passed them and moved over into another lane. "Dean loves you, and he's never felt the way he feels about you about anyone...ever..."
I frowned at his words as a silence fell over the car.
If anyone would know, he would.
The pain in my chest lingered and reminded me what Dean had just done, how he made me feel - what I had just done, how I made him feel. I fought back tears as the speed limit rose.
"You hurt him too." Castiel sighed, looking out the window. "He got the message."
I frowned at myself, thinking of the impact of m actions as of late will have on myself, Dean and Sam.
"Sam also understands," Castiel continued to read my mind as he eased some of my anxiety. "Although, trailing him along was unnecessary...it drove the message home with Dean though."
"Did I fuck their relationship?" I asked, glancing at him.
"You've caused some turbulence...but -" He paused, looking over at me as we continued down the road. "- it's not like they didn't ask for it."
I giggled as Castiel smiled at me.
"You're by far my favorite Rhett sister." He stated, as I flushed red a little.

"Sam, Dean, Sierra -" Bobby named off everyone who stepped into his kitchen, and when he glanced over Sierra's shoulder, I hung my head. "- Where's Dani?"
"We were hoping that she was here." I stated, frowning around the house.
"Why would she be here?" Bobby asked, glaring around the trio. "I thought you guys were looking for her...I assumed you coming back meant you found her."
"We did." I stated, avoiding his eye.
"What happened then?" He asked, rising from his kitchen table, leaving the pile of mail untouched. "Is she -?"
"- she's alive, just pissed." Sierra ensured, glaring over at Sam and Dean.
Bobby looked from Sierra to Sam and Dean, waiting on answers.
"Someone answer me." He boomed, dad-like.
"I fucked up." I exhaled, glancing at Sierra who just crossed her arms. "Literally."
"We found her, but Dean pissed her off, now she's ran off and we don't know where she's going." Sam interjected, saving me from Bobby's wrath, temporarily.
"Okay, how was she when you found her?" Bobby inquired, pushing passed them and grabbing his hidden weapons around the office.
"Uh, Demonic." Sierra stated, plainly, earning glares from myself and Sam.
"Demonic?" Bobby's face went pale, rounding back on us. "What the hell...?"
"Azazel." I answered, barely meeting his gaze. "Our theory is that he must have drained her Angelic blood and replaced it with Demonic blood..."
"...killing her a second time in less than a year." Bobby finished my thought as he sat down the guns on his desk and approached me swiftly. "What did you do?"
"Uh," I hesitated, glancing at my brother for help - who just stood there, stoned face and Sierra just big her lip and avoided my eye. "I slept with someone else."
"You what?" Bobby almost whispered at his disbelief.
"We were looking for her for a long time man," I sighed, dropping my gaze as he grabbed another hidden weapon and shoved it into my chest as hard as he could. "I found this girl and we had a on and off one night stand that didn't remain as a one nighter -"
"- this isn't a time for jokes Dean." Bobby growled, glaring into my eyes as he stopped gathering weapons.
"Listen, I didn't know if or when we were every going to find her and I thought that I deserved to let lose a little bit...I was wrong." I stated, getting loud, probably louder than I should have. "Then when Dani found her bra -"
"- you kept her bra?" Bobby looked disgusted over at Sam and Sierra then back at me. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"I didn't keep it on purpose." I smirked, continuing. "She got pissed and walked out on me, then caught me with -" I paused, allowing my gaze to flicker to the other two figures next to me. I couldn't bring myself to say it, so Sierra (apparently) did the honors.
"- Oh for Fuck's sake!" She chimed in, getting Bobby's glare away from me. "We fucked, twice."
"You fucked her sister?" Bobby rounded back on me with wide eyes. "I knew you were the furthest thing from Gay Dean, but this is a new low."
"Yeah, but then she turned around and -" I paused, glancing at Sam, and watched as Bobby put the pieces together. " - yeah."
"Okay," He sighed, taking in all the information we just spewed. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as he asked, "So, how does it feel?"
"That's what she asked me before she left." I stated, in a lower more embarrassed tone.
"How does it feel?" Bobby repeated, earning my eyes to shoot up into his, and I could feel the rage inside me boiling to my face as visions of Dani and Sam flashed through my head, making me even more livid. Bobby stared at me and nodded slowly. "...and what did we learn?"
I glared up at Bobby, then over at Sierra and Sam.
"Listen," Bobby broke the awkward tension long enough to say, "you can all hash this out later, right now we have a soulless pissed off demon on our hands that has god-knows-what on her mind. She's been scolded by those she holds closest," Bobby's eyes burned through Sierra. "Taken advantage of," He glared over Sam. "And has been cheated on and gotten her heart broken by the one person she actually gave a fuck about." His eyes hovered over me as he moved around the room again, gathering more weaponry.
The three of us watched as Bobby stormed over to his desk and started slamming books off onto the floor, and pulling the top of the desk up, like a trunk - although one would think that would be stationary - and we watched, impressed, as he pulled out weapon after weapon. " - were hunting him down and killing the son of a Bitch." He growled, passing weapons to the three of us.
The three of us exchanged scolded annoyed looks only for Bobby to interject again.
"Put aside your fucking differences and let's go get her, before she does something - although deserving - stupid." Bobby barked, tossing a duffle to Sam and I and shoving Sierra out of the door as we all piled up in the Impala and tour out of the driveway.
"Where are we going?" I asked, while simultaneously enjoying listening to Baby shift gears.
"The only place dead shells go to get filled..." He smirked, looking out the window. "...Las Vegas."
