Chapter three
The most striking feature of the cat was his blood, red eyes. The cat was growling and showing its teeth. It slowly stepped into the light. I gasped. There were two cats. The one with red eyes looked like the leader while the one with yellow eyes must be a follower.
"Well what have we here?" The red eyed one chuckled.
The second one laughed as well "I don't know but it sure looks like trespassers to me."
"I can assure you that there is a logical explanation to this." Smokefur stammered.
"I hope so, we don't take kindly to strangers."
"Who is we?" Braveheart asked.
"Oh how rude of me. I am Wickedclaw and this is my gang."
From the shadows came tons of black cats all showing their teeth. They surrounded us slowly. I felt anxious.
"So tell us." Wickedclaw said
I stared at him blankly. Smokepelt limped forwards and told him the whole story. Through the story Wickedclaw just sat there and washed his paws. I wondered if he was even listening. When Smokepelt stopped talking he looked up.
"So the other cats kicked you out?" He asked.
"Yup." I answered.
"Alley cats should look out for each other. We are like one big family. Only the mean cats would kick you out." Wickedclaw said
Behind him his gang started to meow angrily. They surged forwards even more.
"Unfortunately for you we are some of the mean cats." Wickedclaw laughed again.
His cats lunged forwards. Two landed on my back. I rolled over landing on top of them. They squealed and scratched my back. I jumped off and ran to help Smokepelt who was traying to fight off a cat. Her paw was splattering blood everywhere. I jumped unto the cat attacking her and bit its ear. Wickedclaw bit the back of my leg and dragged me to the ground. He raised his paw ready to strick. It was in that moment that I knew we would all die.
A huge bottle smashed against the wall. Two men came running around the corner. One had dreadlocks and a bunch of tattoos on his arms. The other was bald on the top of his head. The hair on the side was really long. A big tattoo was covering his whole scalp. After them came three police. They all had guns. The group disappeared into the alleyways.
I turned and realized that the black cats were gone. I grinned at my group, the grin froze on my face. Smokepelt was lying on her side by the wall. I slowly walked over. The fear in my heart was building up.
"Smokepelt?" I called.
"Fiercestar I have to tell you something." She talked softly.
"What!" The fear was returning.
"My wounds are to big for me to handle and."
"Don't talk like that." I interrupted.
"Let me speak. I want to tell you that if I had to choose a leader it would be you and I." She stopped and closed her eyes
"Smokepelt? No Smokepelt!" I leaned my head on her belly.
Braveheart and Sharptooth ran over. They watched in shock.
"Is she gone?" Braveheart asked.
"Ye-yeah." I couldn't talk.
I looked up at the city light. A tall tower was in the distance. It was lite up like a Christmas tree. I stared at the light trying to clear my mind. The tears blurred my vision and I couldn't see. I looked at my friends, they were all crying. We all hugged and cried for about five minuets.
"We should leave before they return." Braveheart said.
We turned away and walked back to the sidewalk.
