Chapter Ten

CHAPTER TEN!!!! In the double digits, yeah!
Thank-you guys so much for the support. I think I will definitely be able to get in my goal of 100 reads by the end of April, but if you guys can vote and comment, that would mean a lot to me! My goal is for 100 reads, 50 votes, and 20 comments by the end of April. I didn't realize that you guys would enjoy this story so much, and I may have to raise my goal!

Tobias P.O.V.

We take Matthew's truck to get to the security building. It's only a ten minute drive, and we're silent the whole way. I don't know if we will find anything, if we will discover anything that will help us find Tris. My knee bobs up and down, keeping me the slightest bit busy as I wait. I am very anxious.

We arrive at the building; it's short, but wide. I get out of the truck, closing the door too hard. I walk into the building with Matthew by my side. Matthew doesn't have access to the cameras, but I do. They won't mind if I bring him in, they've let me bring guests before.

The lady at the front desk greets us, happily, unlike the lady at the baby store earlier today.

"How may I help you?" She says.

"I need to get back to the camera room, and he's coming with me." I say. The lady looks down at her computer.

She says, "Tobias Eaton?" I nod my head. "Go right ahead."

"Thank-you," I say. She nods her head, and I lead Matthew away from the desk. The door is locked, but I pull out the card and swipe it. It's not the best security, but at least there is some.

The door slides open, silently, and the large room comes into view. There are a couple people in their desk areas, but mostly everybody is gone.

"Come over here." I say to Matthew, leading him to two desks. "You can use that one." I say, pointing to the desk next to the one next to me.

"Okay." Matthew says, sitting down in the chair. I log both of the computers on, and get him to the page with the live camera screens on it. "So, I just scroll through them, and see if I can find anything?" Matthew asks, clearly confused.

"Yes, you hit the right button and it takes you to the next camera screen." I say, hitting the button. His eyes widen, as he realizes how to do it. I move back to my computer, and put my headphones in. The first few cameras are empty, so I skip past them. The next one is in the Merciless mart. There are a few people talking in this one, so I listen in.

"-to stay at your mother's house?" A man asks a woman. I skip this camera, moving on to the next. I can see Matthew doing the same, his eyes wide with excitement.

I look into at least 30 cameras before one catches my eye again. I turn the volume up and listen.

"She's not cooperating! She took out two men, got into another room, in which she happened to see the others. I need you to find her child, get her back and bring her to me. She will cooperate with us, I don't care the costs!" The screen is clear, so I can see the person who said that. He has short, black hair, a light beard, and only about 6ft. tall.

I turn to Matthew and tap him on the shoulder. He looks over at me, his eyes paying attention to me, but his mind not. I motion for him to take his headphones out, and he does.

"Look at this." I say, without giving him a chance to ask anything. He puts in one of my headphones in, and I rewind the video. He watches, finally paying complete attention to something.

When the conversation ends, and the two people split apart, he takes out the earbud. I look at him in the eyes, not able to read his expression.

"We should go tell Caleb." I say.

"Yeah." Matthew agrees.

I'm worried for Caleb and Allaya. I know the man was talking about Tris, he had to have been. If he was, Allaya is in danger, and Caleb is with her. I can't think straight, my baby, after being with her for less than 24 hours, is being taken away. But another think catches my thoughts. He said, "She took out two men, got into another room, in which she happened to see the others." Who are the others? Are they held captive like Tris.

I just need answers, I need to know everything will be alright.

But I know it's not.

Not everything ends in a happily ever after.

Not this time.

I have decided on a new goal! 100 reads, 50 votes, and 20 comments by the end of March! Please vote and comment, follow me if you really like the book! It would make me really happy if we could reach the goal. I have a bunch of chapters planned out, I hope to do the maximum chapters I can, which is 100!
