Can you leave a light on for me?...

Ava's mind was overcome with the sound of her own heartbeat. Sweat dripped from her forehead, adding more to the pool underneath her. But she dared not move from her bed, nor her position. For the light in the hallway just died, followed by a ear piercing scream.

The spaces solidify...

From the corner of her eyes, she could see it's shadow. Slowly creeping towards her room.

Sleeping with your eyes wide open...

Ava recently became a victim of insomnia. But just when she thought she was free from the sleep depriving disorder, she became another victim to a more sinister monster.

As black as the darkest sky...

Now with all the house lights gone, Ava could only see darkness. A glint of moonlight resting on her bed, but slowly fading away as it draws near.

Can you feel the whole world shaking...

The old wooden floor boards groaned under it's foot steps. Drawing nearer and nearer to Ava's room. The smell of blood filing the damp air.

Running but you're lungs are aching...

Warm bile started to rise up Ava's throat, but she quickly swallowed it back down, almost puking it up again. Tears began spilling out of her eyes, as soft whimpers escaped her mouth.

Can you feel the whole world shaking...

It stopped. The floor boards stopped groaning. Everything seemed to just stop. Until Ava's door started creaking.

I'm breaking inside...

Ava gulped softly, her eyes slowly looking towards her door. But there was nothing there. The door was fully opened, but nothing was there. She sighed in relief, as she slowly moved her head back to it's original position. Her eyes slowly giving in to sleep. Until she felt warm droplets land on her cheek and forehead. Ava slowly opened her eyes, only for her pupils to turn into pin pricks. She let out a blood curdling scream. It had been crawling on the roof all this time, and it was hanging upside down. It smiled down at Ava, more blood pooling out of it's mouth.
