Thank you for all of your reviews on the last chapter! I wasn't expecting so many reviews and they meant so much to me. I was ready to give up on this story and delete it because I felt people weren't enjoying it and I should have left "Run and Hide" alone. I was so happy to see I wrong and so many of you are still reading this story and wanting more.
Huge shout out and thank you to @alexasau for my new book covers on a few of my stories!!

Chapter Four
"Shh," Katy hushed her husband. "You don't want her to hear you."
Maya stopped at the bottom of the stairs as she heard her parents' hush whispers. She continue to listen to see if her mother told her father about her secret she asked her to not tell anyone. She didn't want anyone to know she was pregnant with everyone finding out about Josh's possible son.
Shawn frowned, "Where is she at?"
"The bathroom."
"Do I need to go and pay Josh a visit?"
She heard her mother sigh loudly before her dad spoke again.
"I want to kill him."
"Me too," she listened to her mother admit. "I just keep thinking back to when Josh first came into our lives. We should have forced her to stay broken up with him once we found out the truth."
"Do you know our daughter? She would have ran off and married him the second she turned eighteen."
She heard her mother sigh loudly again. "I always felt Maya loved Josh more than he loved her and now she has to deal with this. It's not fair to her."
Maya felt the tears roll down her cheeks at her mother's words. She harshly wiped away her tears away when she listen to enough before going and making her presence known. She shook her head before Shawn said anything. She could see the look he was giving her and knew it was going to be the look everyone gave her when they found out. She couldn't imagine how much worst the look would be if they knew she was pregnant.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart."
Maya shook her head, shrugging. "It is what it is."
Shawn frowned, "But it's not."
"It is," Maya argued back. "There is nothing I can do about this."
"Maya," Shawn sighed, "We love you and we don't want to see you in pain."
Maya nodded. "I know."
Shawn sighed again, "What are you going to do?"
Maya shook her head, "I don't know," she said, softly.
"You can't not know," Shawn told her as Katy stood next to him "This is serious."
"You think I don't know that? This isn't easy! We are married. Josh is my husband-"
"Yeah, well, apparently he was that little boy's father first."
Maya closed her eyes, shaking head as she stayed still for a moment, "I can't deal with this right now. I'm leaving," she told them, before getting up and walking out of the house.
She took slow deep breathes once she entered the safety of her car. She checked herself out in her mirror making sure her eyes weren't too puffy and red. She took out a makeup wipe wiping her face down before applying some lip gloss and sunglasses trying to make herself look as live as possible before going to Josh's game. She knew he wasn't expecting her as she was expecting a call from Riley and told him she wouldn't be able to make it, but right now she needed to see her husband more than anything.
XOXOJOSHAYAXOXO
Maya made her way over to Josh's team side and giving a small smile and wave when she felt his shocked eyes on her. Her smile grew at the look of love on his face and it was just what she needed after leaving her parent's place. She continue to sit alone and cheer for the team. She couldn't help her heart dropping to her stomach at the announcement of Hunter's name.
"He's good."
Maya looked over as Sophie joined her. "He is," she agreed as the two watch the young boy run to second base.
"He has Josh's talents."
Maya felt the pang in her heart, but ignored it. She forced herself to keep her eyes on the boy and slowly nod.
"And Josh's eyes."
This forced Maya's eyes off of the young boy to glanced over at the other woman, before looking over at the little boy again. She stared at him taking in his features as Josh high five him after scoring.
"That's how I knew he was Josh's."
Maya had to swallowed to keep herself from getting sick thinking that woman was with her husband first. She gave the other woman a small smile, before looking down at her phone and standing up abruptly. "Sorry, but I have to get going," she excused herself, gathering her things.
"Oh," Sophie frowned.
"I'm actually late meeting a friend. I was only stopping by to see Josh for a bit. I'll see you later," she told the other, turning to leave before she could answer.
She once again found herself in her car, taking deep breathes.
XOXOJOSHAYAXOXO
Maya sat staring at the screen waiting for her best friend to answer. She had never needed her best friend more than she needed her at this moment. Maya watched her unprepared best friend finally pop up on her screen. She smiled watching as Riley shooed away the other person in the room. She waited until Riley realized the two were connected, and watched a huge smile come to her face.
"Hey."
Maya narrowed her eyes in, "You know I'm going to meet this mystery man of your's someday, right?"
Riley smiled, glancing over before looking back at her screen, "Someday."
Maya grinned, "Like someday soon? Because you're visiting soon so does that mean he is coming with?"
Riley smiled again, "Maybe."
Maya rolled her eyes, playfully shaking her head. "I'll take it."
"Good," Riley grinned. "Now, what is going on with you," she changed the subject, and her voice becoming a little more serious. "I heard there is a lot," she began, giving Maya the look she hates. "My mom told me some but didn't give out too much detail."
Maya shrugged her shoulder. "There isn't much to say," she swallowed. "It is what it is. One of Josh's past...I guess one night stands happens to be the mother of one of his players and now is claiming her son is his."
Riley raised her eyebrows. "What Josh say?"
Maya shook her head, "Nothing. He believes it."
Riley sighed, sitting back. "Wow."
Maya nodded, pressing her lips together. "I knew Josh had a past. I'm not dumb. I know why he came to live with us but..."
"But seeing it in your face is eye opening?"
Maya stared into her best friend's eyes before she slowly nodded. The two remained quiet for a second before Riley broke the silence.
"Do you think he looks like Josh?"
Maya waited a beat before shaking her head as she remembered the little boy's features. "I don't. I see Sophie in him but when I really looked at the little boy I don't see my husband in him."
Riley bit her lip, "Is it because you don't want to see Josh in him?" she asked, nervously.
"No," Maya snapped, shaking her head. "I don't see Josh in him," she said sharply. "He has dark hair and blue eyes but they aren't my Josh's blue eyes or his dark hair. Sophie talks about his blues eyes as if they are Josh's but they aren't and he doesn't have Josh's nose or lips or ears. I don't see Josh in him. If you glance and see his dark and blue eyes, okay, you may think he looks like Josh but if you break down his features they aren't my Josh's features. He doesn't look like my Josh."
"So you want Josh to get a DNA test?
"Yes."
"Josh doesn't want one?"
Maya shook her head. "Do you think I'm wrong?"
It was Riley's turn to shake her head. "No. I think anyone in your position would want the same."
Maya slowly nodded but could tell Riley wanted to say more but was holding back. "But?"
Riley swallowed, staring into her best friend's eyes. "I know you believe Josh isn't the father but prepare yourself for if he is and also prepare yourself for if he isn't. Josh is going to be heartbroken. The little boy turning out not being Josh's son could be a lot worst than him being Josh's."
Maya nodded, sighing. "I know."
The two got quiet again before Riley broke the silence again.
"Maya, you don't know what it's like to have a baby yet. Maybe there is a connection there you don't understand."
Maya felt her heart drop as the butterflies flew in her stomach. She may have not met her baby yet or held it in her arms or looked into it's little eyes, but she knew the connection she felt to her baby, but instead of arguing she knew the connection she slowly nodded head. "You're right. I don't know."
