Sharpshooter

Lance was getting ready for his date, and since everyone else was busy Keith was helping him choose an outfit, one that was much much better then the courting outfit Coran had given him.

"How about something simple?" Keith suggested when Lance came out in a purple sparkly vest.

"Yeah, your right, Allura will probably pick something simple too." Lance took off the vest, and went to go browse some more with Keith.

"What about you Keith do you like someone?" Lance asked as he looked through shirts.

"Yeah...." Keith said as he pulled out a couple.

"Ooo really? Do I know them?" Lance asked.

"I guess? Sure." Keith said, looking down at the clothes.

"Oh you should totally ask them out, maybe we can go on a double date sometime." Lance said.

"No." Keith said as he headed Lance a pile of shirts. "Try these on."

"Why not?" Lance asked as he went into the changing room.

"I think they like someone else. Which is fine, I didn't like them that much anyways." Keith said, completely lying through his teeth. "Just some random person I meet in the blade, they are dead now."

"Oh my... I'm sorry." Lance said.

"Eh, only talked to them once." Keith kept lying.

Lance chuckled. "Wouldn't think you had the capability to love."

"Don't think I do. It's fine, I like being alone."

"Lone Wolf Keith." Lance said before coming out. "Classic Keith." He chuckled. "Anyways, how do I look? Do I look good?" He turned around in the blue shirt he would end up wearing on his date tonight.

"You look... great, sharpshooter." Keith said as he watched Lance spin around, his heart had other wishes, but Lance looked so happy at this moment.

Keith was looking to his side, where Lance was sitting beside him in the field of flowers. He was holding one in his hands and looking down at it sadly, it reminded him too much of Allura. Pidge had been dragged here by her mom to study these flowers and the other plants while Sam Holt was back at the base working on wormhole back to earth. Keith had decided to drag Lance along, mainly because he had eaten too much ice cream and watched all the sad romance movies there were.

"Keith," Lance said. "Why does it hurt to love? I thought love was suppose to be beautiful and wonderful and amazing in every way."

"Well, Shiro tells me this when he talks about Adam, but, it hurts to let go of your first love, but it hurts more to hold on." Keith repeated the all too familiar words to Lance.

"I think I see what you mean. I should learn from my past to make a better future? I have learned love, heartbreak, and more about myself then any other moment. Is it weird to see how far we have come? I never thought we would live to see the day of peace in the universe."

"Yeah it is weird to think about it that way." Keith said, grabbing a couple of flowers and starting to weave them together.

"Hey Keith?" Lance turned to his friend.

"Yeah?" Keith kept his eyes down at the flowers he was working with.

"Do you think I'll ever find love again? Or just die alone?" Lance asked softly.

"Are you joking? Lance of course you will! Don't you know how amazing you are? You are the funny one, the silly one, the dumb one, in a nice way, you brighten everyone's day with that smile or a joke. You may be annoying, but you make being a part of Voltron fun. I have no doubt that you will be someone's entire universe someday."

Lance smiled warmly. "Oh! I forgot to show you this." Lance took out his Bayard. He flipped it on and instead of showing a gun it showed the Altean broadsword.

"Woah!" Keith's eyes lit up at the sword. "How did it..."

"Just happened." Lance said. "It's real cool. We should have a sword fight sometime. See who is the best paladin."

"That sounds like fun, count me in. I'll go easy on you sharpshooter." Keith smirked.

"What! No need, not only am I a sharpshooter, but I am almost a wonderful swordsman." Lance bragged.

"Sure," Keith laughed. "Then lets go." Keith stood up and held a hand out to Lance. "Unless your chicken to take on the former red Paladin to a fight."

"What no!" Lance took his hand and stood up. "In the red Paladin fight, I will be the winner, especially against you."

"What makes you think that?" Keith asked as he took out his Bayard and walked with Lance to an open space.

"Cause you got a mullet, doesn't that stuff all get in your face when your fighting?" Lance said.

"Not really..." Keith said, changing his Bayard into his sword. "You ready?"

"Born ready." Lance said as he stood a bit off.

The Red Paladin fight was on. There fight had gone on a lot longer then Keith thought it would. Lance was pretty talented with the sword too.

"You're not too bad McClain." Keith said as he blocked Lance's sword from coming down on him. "For a pretty crappy swordsman."

"Well you—" Lance said as he held his position against Keith's sword. "Your mullet is stupid."

"Again with my hair?" Keith laughed as he quickly slide his sword to the side and slide behind Lance, to try and catch him off guard.

"I don't have enough time to think of a better comeback." Lance said as he blocked Keith's blow to the side of him. "Ahh! Keith! You almost got me there!"

"Don't be stupid, I'm going easy on you Lance." Keith said. "If I wanted you dead you would be."

"You're not going easy on me. Are you?" Lance said as he tried to make another move that Keith blocked with the flick of his wrist.

"Well I'm trying to avoid damage." Keith said casually as he lunged at Lance.

"Ha! Your just scared you will loose to me if you go full out!" Lance laughed and jumped to the side.

"No..."

"Yes..."

"No." Keith said as he made another swing at his legs. "I just don't want to hurt you. You're important to me. I couldn't live with myself if I ever hurt you."

"Hurt me?" Lance raised an eyebrow, their swords were caught together and they were face to face. "What do you mean Keith?"

"I mean..." Keith relaxed a little and they both turned off their Bayards. "What time trying to say is... well..."

"Hmm?" Lance raises an eyebrow as he stood in front of Keith, they were eye to eye now.

"We make a good team." Keith said. "Can't be a team if you are dead."

Lance laughed. "True."

"Okay, you can be the winner." Keith put his hands in his pocket and walked over to where they were sitting before. "And your reward Master Swordsman is this flower crown." Keith put it on Lance's head.

"Wow, this is beautiful work Keith. Where did you learn this from?" Lance admired the crown on his head.

"Romelle taught me, guess when you get bored out in space for two years you need to entertain yourself. Romelle taught me things, me and my mom talked about everything that has happened in my life, and I drew stuff." Keith said.

"Wow, you really opened up." Lance said.

"I rarely do with people." Keith said.

"And you can draw? Why were you so bad in the game show then?" Lance teased.

"You try drawing something in 30 seconds!" Keith snapped.

Lance laughed. "Oh... Allura would of loved these, maybe we can make one together and put it on her memorial."

"Oh yeah. Did the Alteans like that idea," Keith questioned.

"They loved it. It should be done in a year." Lance said. "I can't wait to see it, we are going to make it huge. It will be the perfect way to remember her."

"Yeah. A constant reminder." Keith said softly, crossing his arms. "We should be heading back, it's late." Keith commented before quickly walking away.

"Do not tell me you said that," Shiro laughed as he sat on the couch with Keith. "Really? 'We make a good team?'" He laughed harder.

"Just kill me now." Keith whispered. "That was awful. I really thought we were bonding. We were fighting, teasing each other, I opened up to him! And he turns everything back to Allura this and Allura that." Keith rolled his eyes.

"I'm sorry Keith." Shiro said. "But you need to move on."

"What if I can't?" Keith whispered
