Lance was standing in the center of a crowd at Clear day, looking at one particular security officer. He smiled as he gazed upon him.

The security officer caught his gaze and did a double take, blinking, not believing that he could see Lance there.

"Hey Keith." Lance smiled when his friend approached him.

"Lance?" Keith's eyes widened. "Why are you? What are you..."

"Surprise." Lance said. "Veronica wanted to come see Axca, and brought me along too."

"What Lance. Why didn't you tell me?" Keith asked.

"Then it wouldn't be a surprise." Lance pointed out.

"True." Keith chuckled. "Wow... Lance... I don't even know what to do now that you are here. Oh wait!" He pulled out a pair of red dagger from his belt. "This was suppose to be your gift for the end of this week."

"Wow Keith, Those look deadly! Are they made of blood?" Lance asked as he admired them.

"I hope so." Keith admitted. "Or that they have been used a lot."

Lance chuckled. "Well dark and gloomy is back."

Keith laughed. "Shut up, I'm not that Emo."

"Just a tad bit." Lance said.

"Fine a tad." Keith let him.

"Oh you have gotten me so much Keith, and I feel bad I haven't gotten you anything." Lance said.

"Lance it's fine, being able to spend a day with you, and your donations are enough." Keith said.

"No. I am going to win you a prize." Lance said, determined.

"Ummm... Okay. You think you can do that sharpshooter?" Keith asked.

"Yeah, there was a shooting game right back here." Lance said. "I'll win you a black lion, or a red lion."

Keith chuckled. "Alright. Only if you don't miss." He has complete confidence Lance would win that.

They went back to the game and Lance put his coins in the guy's hand. Lance took his aim at the moving targets, but missed all 3 times.

"Hey!!" Keith yelled at the guy running the stands, grabbing him by the collar of his coat. "This game is a scam! There is no way Lance would of missed those! They are three feet away!"

"Keith—" Lance tried to interrupt.

"Now you are going to give me a red lion, or I'm shutting this place down." Keith snapped. "I'm the security here!"

"Yes yes! Everyone is a winner!" The guy quickly handed Keith a red lion stuffed animal.

"Thank you." Keith snapped.

"Keith... I gotta you win you it I'm order for it to count." Lance said.

"Okay..." Keith huffed. He gave the stuff lion to Lance. Lance took them over to another game, where he did end up winning, and he choose a space wolf stuffed animal for Keith.

"Reminded me of Cosmo, which reminded me of you." Lance said with a smile.

"Lance, that's so nice of you... you know nobody has ever done anything like that for me."

"What gotten you a gift?" Lance questioned as they walked away from the crowd a bit, over by a spot where they could see the stars above them.

"Yeah." Keith nodded as he bought them some popcorn to eat, since the firework show was about to start.

"What! Never? Not even for your birthday?" Lance was shocked.

"I don't celebrate my birthday much..." Keith said. "My father died on my birthday. He got called into duty, but... he never came back for cake."

"Keith..." Lance's eyes dropped a bit, feeling sorry for him. "I wish we were closer back then. I would of celebrated with you."

"I bet you would have." Keith sighed. "Shiro always tries, him and Adam just... it was never the same. So I don't celebrate it anymore."

"I'm sorry Keith." Lance said and quickly, very quickly, put his arms around him.

Keith gasped at the hug and dropped the box of popcorn on the ground. Lance was taller then he was now, so he could hear his light breathing in his ear as Lance held him close in the hug.

Keith relaxes slowly and put his arms around his shoulders hugging him back, burying his face near his neck.

"When is your birthday?" Lance questioned softly as he continued to hold him.

"It doesn't matter Lance." Keith said.

"Yes it does. Keith... birthdays are suppose to be special. When is your birthday?" Lance questioned, his voice cracking in sadness.

Keith's eyes widened and teared up when he heard his voice crack like that. "It's... it is tomorrow..." he whispered back to him.

"What! Keith! It's tomorrow and you didn't tell me?" Lance pulled away from the hug so he could look Keith in the face.

"Please you don't have to do anything!" Keith tried to say.

"Nope! We are going to do something special, right here, right now, it's almost midnight on earth anyways." Lance said. "Now come on." Lance said as he brushed some hair out of Keith's face and tucked it behind his ear. He smiled happily at him. "Let's go find something you will really enjoy."

✨✨✨🌟✨✨✨🌟✨✨✨🌟✨✨✨

Keith watched Lance as they loaded up into a rocket ride. On this ride they were sitting in seats along the outside, and the ride would go all the way to the top and then drop.

Lance was gazing out across the flat world around them and up at the stars.

Keith was looking at Lance, he could care less about the world around him, cause his world was beside him.

He use to avoid those bright blue eyes, and he would roll his own at that pearly white smile. These two features always made Lance look so happy and full of light. But now, there was less happiness. Lance hasn't fully recovered, those eyes always make him look broken inside. That smile is never as full as it use to be. They had reached the top.

"Don't make fun of me if I scream. This ride is the scariest one here beside the haunted house." Lance said as the ride stopped at the top.

"We should go on that one next." Keith suggested.

"No way! You will kill someone in there." Lance chuckled.

"So Lance... are you dating anyone back on earth?" Keith asked him.

"No... I haven't had an interest." Lance said. "Lots of girls have come my way but... well..."

At that moment the ride dropped and Lance screamed all the way down. Keith looked the other way, not making a sound.

Keith was afraid. He was afraid Lance wasn't able to love anymore. That idea scared him. Loverboy Lance... not being a loverboy. He deeply hoped he was wrong, cause if he wasn't... what was he suppose to do with these feelings about him?

✨✨✨🌟✨✨✨🌟✨✨✨🌟✨✨✨

"You are going to kill us!" Lance said as he got on the back of the motorcycle.

"Relax Lance." Keith chuckled. "I need you to shoot the other racers, we gotta win this thing."

"Fine, but if I die, I am so haunting you." Lance said as he grabbed a blue laser shooter and got on the back.

"Ready racers!!" A voice on the loud speaker said. About 12 other pairs of racers were starting their engines.

Keith smirked as he watched the clock count down. Finally it reached zero and they zoomed off, Keith was by far the best driver, handling the bike like it was nothing as he zoomed around a corner.

Lance was screaming as he hung onto Keith, trying to shoot the fellow players to mess them up. "This is like Mario cart! But worst!" He yelled over the engine.

"More like better!!" Keith said as he raced around, completing the first lap. Lance has already shot out 5 of the players.

"Not my definition!!" Lance yelled.

They were on their final lap and still in first place, only two other players remained.

"I can't shake this guy!" Keith said, as one player was riding on their butt, trying to stab their tires.

"I got this." Lance said and shot the guy, he fell off his ride, hitting the other guy, knocking them both down.

"Nice shot!" Keith said as he speed up and crossed the finish line. He screeched to a haunt. Keith has the biggest smile on his face as he looked up at the camera and saw they had won.

Someone ran out to give the boys a trophy. Keith smiled as he accepted it and held it with Lance as they took a photo. He then put down the trophy and they took another photo of just the two of them.

"That was so much fun." Lance said. "And look at that! You won at midnight!! On your birthday!"

Keith smiled. "Thank you Lance... you really have made this day special."

The photographer handed them each one of the photos. Keith got the one that they were holding the trophy, while Lance got the one where they were standing close and side hugging.

"Glad I could Keith." Lance said as he gave him the trophy, looking over at him with a happy glimmer in his eyes.

Keith wished he could of leaned over and kissed Lance, his heart wanted to kiss the boy who was the first one to ever make him this happy. But he couldn't...

Because being lovers would ruin their friendship. It wasn't like Keith could just say how he felt either... because to Lance, Keith was his dearest friend... and nothing more.
