I was where I had been last month. On my bed looking up at my ceiling. I hadn't moved and didn't get out of bed. I don't know if I had even showered. I definitely did not go to school. A few kids I knew came from school to check up on me.

A good friend of mine who I really liked came last week. He was your stereotypical nerd. Glasses, tie, polo. Since he wore a polo I started to. I never knew how comfortable they were. He told me that it's ok to feel this way and that if I need more time than I should take some more time. But he wanted me to at least get out of bed and try to continue my life

My other friend and his twin came a week before that. They are identical twins but one wears contacts and the other dyed his hair. He told me I need to move on and to get my life together.

My parents are sending me back to school. I wasn't sure when but as of right now I finally got up and took a shower the nice warm water was refreshing. I walked into the kitchen and made myself a bowl of cereal. I barely ate but at least it was something.

Afterwards I went back to my room and did the same thing I've been doing. After a while I heard a knock on the door. People don't normally visit us so I sat up and listened in curiosity.

I listened to the voices very carefully because they were whispering. I figured whatever they were saying they didn't want me hearing. A few moments later I heard a soft knock on my door

"Come in." I said softly

"Hey there Patton." It was Virgil's dad\

"Oh hey Mr. Storm (I know, I know. vErY original of me uwu) " I sat up and looked at him

"We found something for you." He said then look at his wife

"Is it from...?"

"Yeah. Here you go kiddo." Ms. Storm handed me an envelope

I took it and looked at them. "Have you opened it?"

They shook their heads. I opened it up and read a letter

Dear, Patton

I know that if you're reading this then I'm most likely dead.

I'm so sorry Patton

This was my choice so don't feel bad alright? If I had been open more than someone might have been able to help me. You were the one person who could get me out of my shell. You were an amazing friend.

But I want you to know a few things about me. The stuff you never knew. When I was alive I planned this for us but I kinda forgot. You're going on a scavenger hunt.

Your first clue is in the purple lunchbox under the bleachers.

Please do this for me. 'Cause even though I'm dead and gone I want my memory to carry on.

I was crying but at the end I chuckled. He always loved My Chemical Romance. He says devastated when he found out they broke up. The storms looked at me.

"He planned something when he was alive. He says it's a scavenger hunt." I had a sad but at the same time happy smile on my face.

I handed them the note and they started crying. "He was always fond of you Patton." Ms. Storm said and her husband agreed.

She handed me back the note "Are you sure you want me to have it?" I gave her a nervous look. "It's the last you have from him."

She kindly smiles at me "You were always so selfless. He wants you to have it. Besides it wouldn't be right to keep it to ourselves when it's addressed to you."

I smiled "Thank you"

"Anytime kid." Mr. Storm said

And then they left.

I was finally going back to school. I didn't really want to but I had to do Virgil's scavenger hunt. Today my mom wanted to drive me instead of be harrassed by other kids. When we pulled up everything looked normal. I went in and opened my locker and found a few notes in there. They were all from kids I had hung out with from time to time. It was a sweet gesture but I didn't want to think about it.

The whole day I kept getting asked questions about everything. It was starting to get stressful. When lunch I was first in line I quickly grabbed my food and ran outside. We weren't allowed to go anywhere besides school for lunch. But we were allowed to eat outside. I ran the bleachers and started looking around underneath it. I found a purple lunch box locked to one of the poles. I opened the box and found a little note in it

At first I was extremely confused so I turned it over and it said:

Ohhhhh! It was Caesar Cipher! Like from gravity falls! After a bit I figured it out and then I took the lunch box. I gotta get to that next clue.
