"Jack you really finna piss me off" Tiana escalated as Jack sat on her couch. "Take it easy! He just don't wanna be apart from his girl" Kaviana laughed nudging Jackman as she passed him a sprite. "Well he knows the fucking plan! Ettinnette cant know we're doing this!" She groaned in frustration as Jack sighed. "Can't I tell her about the dinner reservations? Whenever I dont tell her stuff she gets this face of sadness and hesitation which makes my heart hurt." He replied as Tiana smacked the side of his head. "No! If this is going to work then she can't know shit!" She replied as Jack frowned.

"Fine!"

"Jack?" Ettinnette asked rubbing her eyes as she walked around her empty apartment. She stepped into her kitchen peering around to look for him as she took a small glance at her calender on her fridge making her gasp.

Shit! It's her anniversary!

She rubbed her eyes hoping it was mistaken but lo and behold it read January 23rd on her calender. She ran her hands through her hair,which was in its natural curly state, as she rushed to her room to go get ready for the day.

"How much would this be?" Ettinnette asked inspecting the heavy watch she had picked up as her jeweler took his glasses off. "That is Pasha De Cartier, it goes for a heavy 141" He said making her turn to him. "A hundred and forty one dollars?" She asked as he shook his head. "A hundred and forty one thousand" He replied as she nodded understanding. "I'll take it" She replied as her jeweler nodded as she inspected the jewelry again.

"Do y'all think Jackman's upset with me?" Ettinnette asked curiously into the phone as Tiana and Kaviana scrambled in their house to get stuff ready. "No! Why would you think that?" Kaviana rushed as Tiana ran out of the room to take a call. "Well, we haven't talked all day and today's our anniversary. Like I woke up and dude wasn't even there" Ettinnette stressed as she plopped a grape in her mouth. "Maybe he went to the stu? Tiana suggested as she came back into the room tossing Kaviana her phone quickly. "Yeah but he would usually text me or leave me a note that he's going in. Plus he-Wait! Nevermind. I love my man!" She said interrupting herself as Tiana gave her a sideways look. "The switch up is crazy!" She replied as Ettinnette playfully rolled her eyes. "He sent me a band to do my nails and go shopping for an outfit. He's probably just finna take me out to dinner" She said now giddily as Kaviana rolled her eyes.

"Oh My God is Lana Del Rey playing right now?" Ettinnette wondered out loud as she walked into the garden Jack had sent her too. She looked around getting more annoyed by the empty by beautiful garden as she walked more and more. "Ugh, Jackman, where are you?" she asked still looking around as 'Love by Lana Del Rey played in the background. "Wait...You're seriously not gonna kill me to Lana Del Rey playing in the backgro-Fuck, nevermind I would be a happy woman." She said muttering the last part and shrugging as she approached a table with a note on it.

"LOOK BEHIND YOU" she read aloud as she inwardly groaned. "God, please don't let it be Micheal Myers" she whispered repeatedly to herself as she turned around being met with a big sign of roses that read 'WILL YOU MARRY ME?". Her eyes widened as she looked around, now seeing a lot of her friends and family in a corner as Jack now stood in front of her."Jack...What's all this?" She said in a small voice as her eyes darted around the garden. "Didn't you see the sign?" He said in a confused and worried tone as she nodded. "You wanna marry me?" She questioned making him nod nervously. "Why?" She asked as her voice involuntarily broke as 'Awws" and laughter escaped from their friends and family's lips.

"Ettinnette, when I first met you, there was this indescribable feeling you immediately gave me. It was as if, in that very moment, the universe conspired to bring us together. I felt an overwhelming need to know you, to be close to you, and to love you. I believe with all my heart that God specifically placed you in my life at that moment and ever since you've held a tight hold on my heart.Every time I look into your eyes, I see my past, present, and future. Your intelligence, beauty, and grace exude and illuminate every space you inhabit. Your presence alone has made me a better person, and even if you don't realize it, you've saved me in ways I can't fully express. With you, I've found a love that is patient, kind, and unwavering. Will you give me the honor of being your partner, now and forever?" He said as sobs threatened to pummel at Ettinnette's chest.

"Frick, that was really sweet" The Trinidad girl said after a moment, making the crowd laugh. "Girl, If you don't answer this man's question!" Tiana screamed out still recording making Ettinnette laugh a little. "Yeah, Of course I'll marry you" She said making jack swoop her up in a big mindboggiling kiss as everyone cheered around them. "You had me scared" He whispered after they had pulled each other into a hug. "I'm sorry" She repeated as tears fell down her face, overwhelmed (In a good way) by everything. "No, Don't Cry" He said laughing a little as he grabbed a handkerchief from his suit pocket to dab at her under eye. "Ugh, you're a G. I would actually die If I look crazy in the photos" she muttered, blinking back the next wave of tears as she laughed a little. "I also got you these" he said as Kaviana rushed up to the couple with a bouquet of flowers. "Not the red dahlia's Jack!" She whined a little as Jack got the ring out of the case slipping it on her hand.

"Fuck, It's really beautiful too!"

"You okay?" Jackman asked his now fiance as she stared at the beautiful and heavy ring on her finger. "Yeah, This is just crazy dude" She said giving him a look of love as she leaned into him. "Just making sure. We can go back whenever you want" He replied kissing behind her ear as she laughed a little. "Wait, Frick I forgot to give you, your present" She says reaching for her bag. In there was a black case with the watch from earlier, a small bouquet of roses (Cause whoever said men can't receive roses is stupid) and a small chain with their initials on it. He inspects the gifts with a look of awe on his face before he peppers her face with kisses. "Making me feel all special and shit" He says against her lips as she laughs. "Says you! How much did you spend on this?" She says gesturing to the ring as he gives a small shrug. "Nothing you don't deserve" He replies as she shakes her head before laying her eyes down on someone sitting down in a corner quietly sipping on a drink. "Imma be back, okay?" She said quickly kissing her fiance as she walked over to her brother.

"This was never your scene" She commented taking a seat next to Malik. "Yeah, But one won't hurt me" He said giving her a small smile. "I'm glad you're here" She said as making him scoff. "Even if we aren't on the best terms I would never miss this petite" He said endearingly as she nodded. "I'm sorry for-Don't be. I was wrong for not telling you.I'm sorry for betraying your trust and disregarding your feelings towards it with untrue words. You've never been a selfish type, even when you should've been" He said interrupting her as she laughed. "There's times I should've been selfish?" She questioned as he gave her a look. "Yes, but you like choosing other people's happiness over your own" he replied bluntly as she frowned. "Eww, why that have a little kick to it" She said as he glanced over at her. "Because you know I'm right" he shrugged as she rolled her eyes. "Fuck you" she muttered taking a sip of his drink.

The two siblings now stayed in a quiet and comfortable silence before Malik spoke up. "Y'know he asked Baba and me for our blessings?" Malik spoke up as Ettinnette instantly turned to him. "Really?" She said in a voice barely above a whisper as he nodded. The trinidad girl stayed quiet for a moment as grief washed over her. She gave her brother a bittersweet smile as she wiped a tear that fell out of her eyes. Malik reached over pulling his sister into a tight hug as more tears pummeled down her cheeks. "I love you, bourdon" He muttered planting a firm kiss into her hairline as she sniffled.

"Je t'aime aussi."

i quite literally hate jack's engangment speech so much but i've been working on that one part ALL NIGHT. like i haven't even been working on the chapter all night it was js that speech. shit took everything outta me
