They Keep Trying To Row Away || 2

CHAPTER TWO
3RD POV

Adventures Of Cimetière Kitten: The Fire In Her Eyes: Story Of A Fire Meif'lue

Tière shook her head. When people said to fight fire with fire, they were thinking a fantasy fight. She had to use water! But how?

She was a FIRE Meif'lue, not an AQUARIUM Meif'lue! She didn't wield the powers of the ocean tides, or the powerful rains that would pour down in monsoons! Cimetière controlled fire, the red flower that spread across the land like a plague.

Shaking her head, the girl cleared her head of the negative thoughts. They did not belong with her. Cimetière needed to be brave like a true warrior of her culture. She was the last of her kind, thought to be spawn of the devil. But Fire Meif'lues were agile, perfect fighters for war.

She had grown in a city full of regular meif'was, werewolves and your average human beings. They shunned her, hated her. But Tière didn't fight for them, she fought for her true family, the ones that cared! The ones that loved her!

And so, the female warrior gathered up her courage, and ran far, far away to complete here dangerous and ambitious task.

"I wish I could be like her!" Y/N exclaims to no one in particular. Tière was, in many ways, just like her. Cimetière had grown in a city that she didn't belong in, and everyone had expected the worst from her. Y/N had grown in a city in which she felt she didn't belong in, yet everyone seemed to expect the best from her. She just wasn't a people person, so why should she live up to her mother's legacy?

Cimetière didn't give up, and neither did Y/N. They both loved the outdoors, but felt that keeping themselves hidden was a better option. Both excellent fighters, different species. Kind, full of attitude, and wanted the best for everyone, even if it didn't include themselves.

The big difference was though, one loved the night, and the other loved the day! Cimetière loved the light, the heat in her body, and her flames rising high. Y/N loved the night. The shadows of the day would swallow the land, with only the moonlight and the stars to illuminate the place. Everything was so peaceful at night though! No one to bother her, only the landscape and its magnificent features to calm her, the darkness to soothe her, and the sound of the stars twinkling.

[YOUR POV]

It was around dusk when I woke up. I must have fallen asleep reading! Whoops. I closed my book and placed it back on the correct shelf. I wasn't tired, as the nap I had taken had been at least four hours long. So what would I do? It's not like anyone would be awake at this time. I mean, maybe one of the maids, but they acted like I was their worst nightmare, so they'd keep their distance.

I was walking towards my room, but one turn meant you were lost. And that's what I was. How could I be lost in my own home?! I just kept walking, as I didn't feel much like backtracking. The hallway got darker, so I placed my hand on the walls to steady myself. But then, I fell through! Was this a secret passageway I never new about? Aphmau did keep a lot of secrets . . .

Just a dark hallway. Oh how wonderful. Such sarcasm. As I walked down the corridor, the floorboards creaked loudly under my feet. I finally reached a dark wooden door, and strolled right through it. Like it never existed.

"Oh my Irene," I whisper, shocked at my actions. I touched my own skin. I was still solid, so why did I pass through like a ghost? A chest glowed darkly, shadows surrounding it. The chest had a ruby with a lock spell, and a shield spell with a padlock. I tapped the chest, letting my hand run over the grooves and ridges.

The chest popped open like the reinforcements were nothing.

I jumped back, clapping a hand over my mouth to stop myself from shrieking. These things don't happen naturally! A midnight black relic rose from inside it and came towards me! It was Shad's relic, so why did it want me? Infusing with my body, I felt myself flooding with dark magicks. It unbalanced my unknown powers, giving me newfound magicks that would increase my attacks and defenses.

My clothing changed. Anything I had been wearing originally, was gone. It was now replaced by dark clothing, my star was replaced by what looked like a Blood Diamond. How could I change myself back? Or at least to something friendlier?! My outfit morphed into a nicer one, bright colors and comfortable boots, changing the diamond back to a brighter, gem version of the star on my forehead.

'Beautiful!' I thought. But the beauty scared me. After all, looks can be deceiving. My strengthened magicks would cause problems in the future, but no one would understand. I barely talk or see anyone, I've never dated and have never had a friend. Basically, I've avoided any relationship that includes loving another living being. I don't even speak with my own mother that much!

I began running as fast as I could back to my quarters. And that was, you might be surprised, very fast. Sunrise would be in exactly two hours, so that didn't give me much time. I had to run away, and I had to get out as soon as possible. I packed everything necessary, including: Money, food, water, a book, a sweater, and little else. Hopefully, this would be enough. I also packed a map, just in case. Actually, I was a thin atlas, but I had to be prepared for the challenges ahead.

I took one hour getting prepared. I put on my hiking/combat boots (TOTALLY real), and dressed accordingly to the weather. And so, when dawn came, I was already sprinting to the portal to Pheonix Drop. From there, I'm not sure. But the important thing is to get myself used to my new magicks, and train myself in it.

If I had to act like a ghost, I would have to be one.

   Well, without dying, that is.
