Naruto, Sakura, Sai and Kakashi decide to visit the Kazekage Gaara after they finish a mission near Suna.

On the way they get caught in a sand storm. Thinking quickly Sai creates a bird to carry them above the sand storm but Naruto falls off the bird and straight into the sand storm.

Due to the fall Naruto losses his memory and goes temporarily blind due to sand cutting up his eyes. To get the sand out of Naruto's eyes they must go to Gaara who Naruto seems to remember. Forced to wait until Naruto's memory returns Sakura and Kakashi stay in Suna with Naruto while Sai returns to Konoha to inform the Hokage Lady Tsunade.
