Welp-- Here's some depressing crap- Based on the song Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift- 

~Rainbow Steve's POV~

Nightmare Steve just went to finish me off with his blast of lightning, but Blue Steve jumped in front of me before it could hit me. I scream from seeing it, and Nightmare Steve just looks at Blue Steve in a bit of shock. 

"Wow, your friend took the hit for you, Rainbow Steve. Just shows how many people you're going to take down before you get taken down," (I know that wasn't what he said, I wanna be creative ish-- Leave me alone--) Nightmare Steve says, and I have to fight myself from letting the tears fall. Blue Steve's clearly in pain, the lightning immediately taking a huge toll on his body, but he keeps himself from collapsing onto the ground. 

"Anyway, enjoy your new problem, I'm going to head off. Bye." With those last words, Nightmare Steve flies off. "R...Rainbow Steve..." Blue Steve coughs out, seemingly in pain. I mean, it's surprising he is even alive from all that lightning that stuck him...

"Blue Steve... you shouldn't have done that!" I shout at him, and he looks at me in pain. "I had to save you... heh..." Blue Steve says, slowly starting to walk towards the entrance of the cave. I run after him, tears burning my eyes. I help him walk, and soon we get to the top. I make a small sand hut that's out of the sun for him, that way there the sun doesn't drain him anymore. 

"Rain...Rainbow Steve..." he mutters out, leaning against the sand wall behind him. "Y-Yeah...?" I say, wiping the tears from my eyes. "I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'll never let you go... When all those shadows almost killed your light..." Blue Steve says, putting his hand on my cheek and wiping the tears away. 

"Blue Steve... please... Don't leave..." I whisper, tears continuing to flow as fast as a waterfall. "I remember you said, 'don't leave me here alone'..."

~Blue Steve's POV~

It's painful just to say a single word, and my life force feels like it's slipping away. "But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight..." I mutter, leaning my head against his. 

"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down..." I whisper, feeling myself want to cry as well. 

"You'll be alright... no one can hurt you now..." Rainbow Steve says, tears continuing to roll down his face. It gets dark out, rain starting to fall outside of the sand hut. 

"Come morning light... you and I'll be safe and sound..." we both say in sync, and he then hugs me tight. I hug him back, energy starting to come back to me, though it's going to leave me again soon until I'm gone completely. 

"Don't you dare look out your window, darling everything's on fire," I say, the first outside starting to go out. As well as the flame of passion in Rainbow Steve's eyes. "The war outside our door keeps raging on..."

"Hold onto this lullaby even when the musics gone, gone..."

"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down," I whisper, and I can't take it anymore. I lean forward, and my lips catch his for the kiss I've longed for. To my surprise though, he kisses me back. 

This amazing feeling of our lips moving in sync only lasts for a moment before I pull away, looking into his now-dull eyes. 

"You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now..." we say together in sync once again, and I hug him. 

"Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound..." I whisper, my energy suddenly draining rapidly. 

Then, I tell him about something. The only idea I have for us to not be completely apart forever. He just would have to absorb me. After enough begging, I get him to agree. 

"I promise... I'll always be with you... In your heart..." I whisper, and he nods slowly. "I love you..." he whispers, kissing me softly. I kiss him back, slowly and gently. Then, we both pull away, and he hazily gazes into my eyes. "I love you too...."

I fly up, looking down at him as the rain soaks the both of us. "Just close your eyes... you'll be alright..." I mutter softly, feeling my energy being drawn towards him. "Come morning light... You and I'll be safe... and sound..." I whisper, and then, everything goes black. Everything seems to end. It's like I'm in a completely black room, with no windows and no source of light; but I know what that means. 

It means it worked. 

"I'll always be with you, Rainbow Steve...."
