Milan and Freyja always seemed to be destined to be racers from the moment they were born. Their future was basically already written down in the big book of faith. They were meant to go fast and be just like their fathers. Racers. World champions. Legends. But there was one thing that no one would have expected.

With their dads Michael Schumacher & Kimi Räikkönen being what most would call good friends and both kids only being apart a few weeks in age, everyone thought that these two would become close friends as well, maybe even more. Because well, they spent a lot of time together thanks to their fathers. Holidays, Weekends, whenever there came a chance, they would have to hang out with each other.

They probably didn't even exactly know why, but Milan and Freyja were never friends. Like at all. The only thing they would agree on was that they hated each other. Their competitiveness only worsened everything. And those two would compete at basically everything.

At three years old, they would race in little bobby cars against each other in the garden of Milan's home. At six they had switched to bikes on the street in front of Freyja's house and around that time, they both also learnt that one doesn't always have to play fair to win something.

It were the little things that fueled their hatred more and more. Like the time Milan had not let Freyja onto his new treehouse at eight years old and then thrown water ballons at her from up there. Or one time at nine when Freyja had accidently push over Milan's trophy case, resulting in a few broken trophies. Just like the time where Milan had decided to slash Freyja's kart tires right before a race so she wouldn't be able to participate. That move had gotten him disqualified by the way.

Of course they were both aware that their actions had consequences but their rivality was too strong at this point and it just seemed to get worse and worse as they got older. At 15, most people would have grown out of phases like that but not these two.
Well, they weren't as physical as they were as kids, but they would still curse each other out basically every time they met. They would go way below waistline with their words as well, resulting in Freyja breaking Milan's nose one time in the heat of a fight.

Competing was also still a big part of their lives when they turned 17 years old. For over a decade they had already been racing against each other. They had both entered in Formula 2 at this point and were only steps away from being in Formula 1.

Races were tough, their results only being around tenths of seconds apart. They both knew that only one could become champion and it had been a bitter fight til the very end. Much to Milan's disliking, Freyja had actually managed to win first in Formula 2 but it only made him fight harder, maybe even more aggressive and so he won the championship the year after. So now they were even again.

Or so they thought. At 19, Milan got the call from Mclaren asking him to drive for them in the upcoming Formula 1 season. But not long after, Freyja signed the contract with Aston Martin.

There really seemed to be no escaping from each other, were they really be destined to be rivals forever?

Well, only time could tell. But of course there has always been this saying. "the winner takes it all, the loser has to fall"
