Chapter 4 - Punishment

╚═════ஓ๑♡๑ஓ═════╝

Sitting inside the principal's office, the five Magnolians sat while being scolded - they were seated perfectly in a straight line right in front of both the principal's desks.

Lucy flinched as Principal Dreyar slammed his palm on the desk, looking furiously at his students. "Are you dunderheads out of your minds!?" he yells whilst José is reclined in his chair, his signature creepy smile plastered across his face. "Ms. Fiore said specifically that there was to be NO FIGHTING DONE, and you dimwits went and broke it THE FIRST DAY BACK. You all have major explaining to do..."

The room stayed in silence before Levy broke it, biting her lower lip as she decides to take defense. Yes, the girl who didn't fight was also getting in trouble. If she was there at the scene, the teacher told her, she was to be punished as well. "We originally didn't want to fight...but you see..the five Fioreans out there were pretty much bullying the announcer from this morning...."

"Yeah, they were mimicking him because of his little voice crack and pushing him against the wall.." Lucy says, backing up Levy.

Makarov leaned back in his chair as he massaged his temples. "José, have you ever taught your students that it's bad to bully..?"

José combines his hands together as his elbows rested on the arms of his chair. "Yes, all the time," he says, putting emphasis on his last three words.

"Well, obviously not good enough." Makarov looks over to José, a glare in his eyes.

José also glared back, clearing his throat in a spine tickling way. "How do you know their not lying, hm? Since your Mister Detective, here?"

Makarov looked back at Levy and Lucy as he spoke. "Those two are trusted by me. If it was Natsu or Gray, I wouldn't believe any of it," Gray and Natsu's faces showed confusion as they look at Makarov as if they had done nothing ever. "Erza is apart of the student council and knows if she lies she'll get her privileges taken away. Really, José, your students are obviously to blame."

"You're being soft, Makarov," José says, him and Makarov starting a staring contest, but with competitive glares. This went on as the teens in front of them sat and watched in silence before Makarov's telephone rang, disrupting the intense staring.

Makarov puts up his pointer finger saying '1 moment' silently before picking up his phone. "Hello?..... Yes, this is Makarov Dreyar.......You need me right now?.... Is it important because I am dealing with something right now... Okay, fine. I will be over in a few." he hangs up and sets his phone on the desk, looking up at the students. "I have been called to an urgent meeting so you all will get your punishment later, meaning you are to stay here and wait for me to get back."

Lucy sat straight up, interjecting. "What?! But, Mr. Dreyar, it's the first day of school...can't you just punish us tomorrow...or let it slide..?"

He shot back a glare at Lucy, making her recoil. "No, it's all of your faults that your in this situation, so you will learn to take the consequence." Makarov stands up from his chair, walking to the door and opening it. "I will leave José to punish his students alone, which should take up the time before I get back. Now, get out of my office and don't you dare think about fighting with those guys out there." he says, looking specifically towards Natsu who muttered a 'fine'.

They stand up and head out the door, making eye contact with their enemy as said enemy stand and walk into the Principals room - José commanding them with his finger to enter the room to only slam the door closed once all were in.

Natsu threw himself on the bench outside of the office, lounging back as he stares at the ceiling. "Man, this sucks."

"Thanks, captain obvious," Gray says as he glares at Natsu, his arms folded.

"Shut up, Elsa," Natsu says back with a glare towards him.

They're interrupted by the sound of muffled talking, Erza holding up her pointer finger to her mouth shushing her friends. They could hear the talking José and his students were doing through the opaque glass, and if they listened carefully, they could hear mostly everything.

"Listen up, all of you..." they hear José say clearly. "I....punish you because I don't........all deserve it and those pesky Magnolians do. So....is talked about in here.....in here."

They hear a bunch of muffled laughs from all the different voices, and then more talking is done after that which goes unheard.

There were some parts the group didn't hear the first time they heard José spoke, but it was clear what the wicked principal was saying to his students and the Magnolians couldn't believe their ears.

José was being wayyyy too....nice? No, that was not possible. José's whole personality showed he wasn't nice at all. Maybe to his students, but to the opposing school? Yeah, no.

It wasn't too long before the sound of chairs moving is heard, and moments later, the door is opened - which added way too much suspicion to the group of Magnolia High students. They were in that room for longer than the Fioreans, so what the heck? Were they getting special treatment because they needed it?

The door is closed once more when the 5 Fioreans are out of the room, and now were staring right at their rivals.

The black and white-haired guy, whom Natsu decided to name skunk because of his hair, snickered and winked towards Gray and his group. "What a bunch of losers."

Another snicker is heard, this time from Gajeel. "Agreed, Totomaru. By the way, blondie," he says whilst staring at Lucy, the girl glaring and furrowing her eyebrows. "I enjoyed punching ya, a lot of cushioning happened to my hand thanks to your breast."

Her mouth shapes in the form of an 'o' as her face shows shock. She holds onto the breast which he had punched, Levy wrapping her arm around her best friend as she glares at Gajeel trying to seem threatening.

The big guy with piercings only let out a hollow laugh at the short girl who was trying to look intimidating. It was funny, really. To the big guy, at least. Such a small fry trying to seem protective and strong. "How cute, a midget protecting her friend."

"Non Non Non- Gajeel, she looks like she wants to kill you at the moment." The skinny guy says with an accent, French possibly.

Gajeel looks from his friend to Levy, raising a brow at the petite woman. "Gihi...Your right, Sol."

"Okay, Okay," Juvia says loud and clear, pushing on Gajeel's back for him to move. "Let's go before we start something.."

Gajeel scoffs as he moves to get Juvia to stop touching him. "Gosh, Ameonna. Your usually the one who wants to provoke people, what's gotten into ya'?"

Juvia shakes her head as she pushes Totomaru's back now. "Nothing is wrong, Juvia just thinks it's a waste of time-"

"Madame Juvia is right!" Sol says as he starts walking towards the exit, his 4 friends following. "Not worth our time at all!"

The black and white dude snickered. "YA! We have way more important things to deal with then scum like them!"

"You have to admit their fighting was beautiful!!" Big guy - whom the Magnolia group didn't know who he was named - said as sobbing his heard.

"SHUT UP YOU BIG CRY BABY!" Gajeel's voice is heard now, but it simply fades away as the Fiore Highschoolers rounded the corner and left the sight of the Magnolians.

Natsu shivered, "Those guys give me as many creepy vibes as Principal Porla..."

"You can say that again..." Gray agrees while sweat dropping.

Erza looks at her friends with an angry look. "Why didn't José punish them?!"

"And he said Makarov was being soft..." Levy says, still having a comforting arm around Lucy.

"No, it has to be anything other than he is just being nice." Erza counters back, tapping her chin in confusion.

Lucy nods, agreeing with what Erza had said. "Maybe he is doing it to mimick us?"

"Could be that," Gray says aloud, putting arms behind his head.

Just then, they heard footsteps walking towards them so they looked in the direction. Sure enough, they see Makarov making his way over.

"Alright idiots, ready for punishment time?" he says in the slightest angry voice.

Erza stood and looked at her principal, getting ready to tell him all the things she heard. "Principal Dreyar, José didn't punish his students whatsoever!"

"What?" their principal questions, tilting his head to the side.

Lucy nods her head and arises. "It's true. He said something about us deserving something and they shouldn't."

It took a while, but Makarov finally answered.
"……..Is that so?"

The rest nod their heads as a deep sigh emanated from Makarov. "Well I guess it's only fair to not punish you all, then." the others let out a sigh of relief just before Makarov speaks again. "I will be sure to talk to José about all of this mess, for now, you are all dismissed."

Natsu shot up from his seat as he made his way to the exit. "WOO-HOO! Freedom here I come!"

"Thanks, Makarov." Erza smiles at her favorite Principal before turning to follow her obnoxious friend.

Makarov nodded as he watched his students go, turning to his room and walking over to enter once the students were gone.

José was looking out of the window behind his desk, arms behind his back conjoined.

"José....you have a lot of explaining to do," Makarov says in a dangerously low voice, a glare in his eye towards his rival.

José turned his head towards his fellow Principal, a sinister smile danced along his lips as he glares back. "I really don't, old man."

"Why I oughta-" Makarov says as his aura deepens.

"Don't get so mad, Makarov. It's bad for you and that elderly body of yours. I wonder how much longer before it breaks and you can't use it."

"Tell me now and don't play around, why did you hold back your punishment towards your students? You were there during that meeting with the mayor and heard him specifically say to give any punishment needed once a rule was broken-"

"I will give punishment soon enough, so stop getting so worked up," José says, turning back to look out of the window.

"Your one rotten old man... If I find out you don't give punishment once more I will report you. I know your hiding something, and I don't like it." the Principal of Magnolia High says as eyebrows furrowed and eyes glared into the back of José.

José chuckles to himself lowly as he speaks under his breath. "Don't worry about it, Makarov... Don't you worry about it.."
