Chapter 3 - Bullies

The final school bell rang, signaling the end of the day.

Students from both schools pushed and shoved others to get out of the school, being able to be free after a long day back. Some were eager to get home, while others had plans to go and celebrate their first day back.

Gray and his gang waited in a deserted classroom with no teacher nor students insight. This was Lucy's last class, and she was trying desperately to find something in her book bag.

"Oh, c'mon!!! Where is that darn pencil!!!" Lucy says as she empties the contents of her bag on to the desk she was sitting at.

Natsu looked at her as if she were crazy "How important is this pencil to ya, Luce?"

"Important!!!! It's Levy's, I borrowed it and she specifically requested I give it back to her at the end of the day," she says frantically, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear as she picked up every pen insight.

Erza just stood to watch as she laughed occasionally at Natsu's dumb questions, and Gray was leaning against a wall with arms folded as a silent observer. He was ready to walk home and rest, see his sister, and possibly play games on their console together. His friends had planned to walk home for their form of 'partying', so that's why they were all in the same classroom at the moment.

"Ah-ha!" Lucy says as she lifts an ordinary pencil up in the air in victory. "I found the little rascal!"

"Uh....not to sound rude or anything, but......why exactly does Levy want the pencil back? It's so....basic." Natsu says, standing up from sitting on his knees.

Lucy shoots a glare causing Natsu to step back in fear. "If it's Levy's, it's special!" she says as she put everything back in her bag and slings it over her shoulder, ready to exit the classroom. "I am ready to go!"

"Finally," Gray says in relief, getting off of the wall he was leaning on to start heading out of the door into the hallway. Just mentioned hallway used to be filled with students, but now only had a few kids walking by.

They all walked in silence as they observed their surroundings, this new school would sure take a while to get used to.

"Lucy! Do you have my pencil?" the sight of somebody was running towards them, getting closer in view by the second. It was Levy.

"I do!" Lucy waved it in the air as Levy got closer, handing it straight out once Levy reached them.

Levy smiled, stuffing the pencil into her bag. "Thanks! Where are you all heading to?"

"We planned to walk home together as our little party." Erza explains, a smile across her face as Levy smiled back. "Wanna join?"

"Of course! I'd be delighted!" Levy replies as she puts a hand up to her mouth, her lips shown to only Erza and Gray while Natsu and Lucy were oblivious to what she was saying. "Plus, I don't want to miss the awkward talking between these two!" she says with a little wink as Erza chuckles and Gray smiles whilst nodding his head.

"What?" both Natsu and Lucy asked in sync.

Levy laughs, "Nothing! Now, let's go!"

Suddenly, the sound of a backpack falling to the ground caught the group off guard followed by muffled voices.

"You really outdid yourself this morning, kid!" and then a sound of a kick.

"WeLcOmE bAcK tO school eVeRyOnE!" it was a mimic of the voice crack they heard this morning during the assembly...the voices unknown.

Natsu heard all of the noises and put everything together, turning around abruptly, making his way towards the noise. Lucy, Gray, Levy, and Erza turned, following Natsu's lead.

The dropping of a backpack, the sound of a kick, and mimicking? Sounded like someone was getting picked on.

They made it to a narrow hall soon enough, dark but possible to see. The hall had a crowd around it of Fiore Highschool students.

Natsu pushed them away as he made his way towards the noise, soon enough catching sight of the announcer earlier that morning being pushed up against a wall by 1 student, and surrounded by 4.

Gray and the three girls made their way through the crowd as well, just in time before Natsu yelled at the crowd surrounding their classmate. "Hey! What're you bastards doing to our classmate?!" he asks aloud, the faces of the bullies turning in the direction.

There were 4 guys and 1 girl of the 5 Fioreans surrounding the poor announcer kid. One of the guys was really skinny, had green hair, and had a little eye patch over his left eye. Another guy was big, wearing a bandana over his eyes, and had no sign of hair. A boy had black and white hair that looked messed with, while another guy was also big and had black long hair and what looked to be piercings as eyebrows, some on his nose, and one on his chin. And then there was the girl, the girl that looked oh so familiar to Gray. Blue wavy hair, soft face shape, blue eyes....all perfect descriptions of that Juvia girl from earlier that morning.

"I asked you a question! Are you going to even answer!?" Natsu yelled again taking a few more steps towards the students of his rival school, his four friends behind him also walking forwards. "What. Are. You. Doing!?"

"Natsu...!" the announcer kid says in relief, fake tears streaming from his eyes. Someone's backpack was on the floor, unmistakable as the announcers.

One of the five Fioreans scoffed, looking towards the group of 5 in front of them. "What a bunch of wimpy looking kids..."

"What'd you say?" Gray asked, stepping up to be by Natsu's side, Erza as well taking a step forward as a deadly aura surrounded her. She'd never let anyone, anyone from Fiore High bully one of her classmates.

"He said you better get out of here before things start to get ugly, kid." the guy, with piercings as eyebrows pushing the announcer kid, spoke.

Natsu only smiles. "Nah, I think you'd better step away from my classmate before you never see the light of day."

"Gajeel never gets scared...." the guy with a bandana over his eyes spoke whilst the guy, who appeared to be named Gajeel, shot back a glare towards him.

Gajeel growled. "Shut up, goddammit! You're not supposed to say my name!!" anger shown in his face and heard in his voice.

"Enough chit chat," Gray spoke, cracking his knuckles.

"Are you going to let go of him, or face our wrath?" Erza asks, her aura getting deadlier by the second.

Gajeel lets the announcer kid slide down to the floor, turning towards Natsu. ''I've been itching to fight one of you pests since the very minute I laid an eye on you."

"Fighting it is, then." Natsu suddenly charged, swinging his fist into Gajeel's face and landing a successful hit on Gajeel's jaw.

The guy stepped back a few steps as he held onto his jaw, a shocked expression on his face suddenly turning into a smirk as he wiped the slightest bit of blood off his lip. "Fighting with fists, haven't done that in a while." he suddenly punches Natsu in his gut, taking a sadistic pleasure in hurting him as Natsu steps back a few steps from the force of the punch. The two continue fighting as Erza and Gray charge towards the big guy, skinny guy, and black and white dude.

Lucy runs up to the announcer and helps him up, Levy right behind her picking up the kids backpack. "You okay?" Lucy asks in a hushed voice as Levy hands the backpack to him.

The kid nodded his head slowly, looking past the two girls at the fighting with big eyes. Taking the backpack out of Levy's hand, the kid charged for the exit without as even saying a word. Lucy and Levy looked as he ran, not knowing why he had done that. They look at each other and shrug, putting the thoughts in the back of their minds as they start looking towards their friends who were still fighting.

Gray had been fighting the black and white-haired dude, while Erza fought against the big guy with the bandana and the skinny dude, and Natsu was still fist fighting Gajeel.

"Are you going to fight, Lu?" Levy asks, leaning her weight on Lucy with a hand on her friend's shoulder as they stared at the fighting.

Lucy shakes her head, sighing loudly. "No, I will leave it up to them... I am not really one for fighting-" at the same time, Natsu stepped aside dodging Gajeel's punch, which Lucy just so happened to be behind Natsu so the fist that was supposed to hit him went towards Lucy.

On purpose or not, the punch made contact with Lucy's breast.

Gajeel retracted his hand after a long moment. As his hand left, Lucy held onto the breast that was punched with bangs covering her eyes. Levy covered her mouth in shock as she hoped Lucy wouldn't kill either the big scary guy or Natsu. Gajeel and Natsu stayed in place as they waited for an answer from the girl, which they got pretty fast.

"HOW DARE YOU!!" Lucy started throwing punches at both Natsu and Gajeel, not missing a single hit. Sure the punches didn't hurt the two, but it didn't stop at least one of them from feeling bad

Levy sweat dropped "Well...there goes the no fighting Lucy was talking about..." she looked towards her friend who was now engaging in fighting like her other friends, which left Levy to be alone. She continued observing and noticed she wasn't the only one standing watch.

Levy saw her homeroom classmate, who she recalled being named Juvia. The girl was just watching her friends and Levy's friends fighting, not getting herself involved in any fist throwing. Levy didn't know the reason behind why Juvia wasn't fighting, but she guessed it was because she didn't want to. It was Levy's excuse, so it might as well be Juvia's.

Just then, the teens heard a loud whistle, causing all eyes to turn the direction of the sound.

Shock filled their eyes as they saw a teacher at the entry of the hall with the same announcer kid by her side. "ALL OF YOU! PRINCIPALS OFFICE NOW!"
